I bought an original-looking black metal case and it's the best option of all 2100s maybe except for the rose gold one. AP case don't seem to fit proportions of 2100's dial better.
Fun fact the 300$ casioak is more accurate than the 30,000 $ AP

I’m a simple man, when he said “THIS is a CasiOak” I pressed like 👍🏼!
I think the operative point here is that watches should be fun, and with that sensibility in mind, we shouldn't take all this too seriously. I like that folks and Casio are having fun with this. While I had a GA-2100, it didn't really "work" for me: it looked, felt, and wore like a cheap plastic watch. So, rather than do a CasiOak mod to it, I "paid it forward" by giving it to a good buddy who uses it when working in his workshop. Happy to know it went to a good home.

I love your attitude about watches. It’s how I feel also. People should have fun with their watches. They should love their watches no matter if it’s a Casio Easy Reader or an Omega Seamaster. There are gatekeepers in Watch World that intimidate and tell people what they should be concerned with (luxury) and what they shouldn’t be (everything else). There are legions of suckers who will fall over themselves trying to buy a $5900 travel clock and more power to them if that’s what they really want… but if it’s just a cool thing to have because it will impress other watch idiots then you’re thinking about this all wrong.
Quality of these videos is excellent. Love the melancholic narrator as well, easy to listen to at length.

plus these get made in all sorts of crazy colors that you'd never see from AP, like I have one in that iridescent burnt titanium 'neochrome' finish, which like never in a thousand years would I expect to actually see AP make

I gifted the GA-2100 to my dad a couple of years ago, basically at release and he loves it. He also loves the royal oak but I can't buy that for him, maybe this is the second-best choice.
Or I'll buy one for myself and make him jealous haha.

I think people should really discuss wrist size with this modification. What is the minimum wrist size needed? I've seen people try it on with 6inch wrists and it looks hilarious. I have 7- 7¼inch wrists and I believe it might work

@@YoureTerrific They’re very nice, as its a heck of a bulky watch to begin with. Unfortunately Casio has focused on the smaller one as a watch for women, so has chosen traditionally feminine colour options despite the fact that it looks great for smaller-wristed men too, like myself.
Great video. Watch collection should be fun, this gray market has just ruined the fun. Just yesterday was checking online for an Explorer 39 mm, they want 15 grand for it, come on guys, that is more money than an used Submariner.
Such a shame. But the good news is that there's still a lot of great watches out there that aren't Rolex or steel Patek.
I’m a fan of these casioaks. I actually think the version with rubber strap looks the best. But my small wrist can’t handle the over hangs. :(

The part I can't do is the negative display. As I understand it, the only ones with a positive display have a different dial color that would not look as good with the mod. Still, these are fun, no question.
Totally agree. The small, negative display is worthless to me.
Believe me in Casio i like only Casio royal oak and this is the combination of three watch that i am fucking crazy for that watches salute to the developers and the designer pleas appreciate them from my side

Got a Casioak black version with white hands and indices. It’s more legible, I think, than the fully blacked-out version.
The idea that a G-Shock is popular because it vaguely looks like a royal oak rubs me the wrong way.
I think it’s popular because it looks good, not because it looks like a RO. (It really doesn’t look like a RO without this mod)
I own a Royal Oak and one of these, it doesn’t rub me wrong at all. 🤷🏼♂️

Nah, it's fun. Don't take stuff too seriously. I walk with VCs, APs all the time, it is nice not to take oneself too seriously and make a bit of fun. I meet up with friends, they are all wearing Royal Oaks and I pull out this! It is audacious, it is fun. It says you've got nothing to prove 😊
90% of the G shock buyers don't even know what a royal oak is. So no its not popular because it looks like RO ...

In my opinion the metal bracelets is to dressy for the gshock. I would personally just go with silicon or rubber straps
I just got the transparent version of this last week and almost regretted it when I saw this video until I saw it was custom modded and they don't actually sell it
It looks luxurious and its affordable. I still see people's say royal oak better or whatever else but its a watch after all. If you made 2 millions a yer u could buy the 70k watch like you could afford the 500€ watch if you make 20k a year and so goes on for most of the people's.

With that said, for an original Audemars that is designed after a divers helmet it's quite ridiculous they aren't really waterproof in contrary to this RoyalCasi'Oak which is 200m! And in contrary to an original fragile oak, this one is shockproof like a tank. So if you don't mind the cheap bodykit you might as well go for the Casi'Oak!

Casio actually does make a version that looks like that… Except it’s not a G-Shock, it’s from their Edifice line. It’s the EFR-S108D-1AVUEF. You used to be able to get it for around 100 bucks but people are catching on and I’ve seen prices as high as 275. Yikes.

I noticed some of these mods have very obvious gap between the glass and the bezel.
