I have had sinus issues for years but lately it seems worse. Every time i lay down at night either my right or left side gets blocked, even though i don't have a cold. Asthma is also an issue as well. I had Covid in September and these issues seem a lot worse since then. I suffer with allergies also so i think its all connected.
Just wanna share a thing that helped me (might not help everyone). Had this problem a lot throughout my teen years. But after a few of my friends slept over in my bed they got the same thing and they said they never had it before. So then got to talking and thought it was the mattress but I switched that 2 years prior and my issue still persisted. Then we thought my pillows bc I've had the same pillows for nearly 15 years, nobody ever told me you were meant to switch them. Then bought new pillows and have never had this problem again other than me being sick. I guess its all the times my drool, sweat, coughing and other bodily fluids has come on them that made it not agree with me anymore. BUY NEW PILLOWS ANYWAYS
@@Nolan364 I did yes but it wasn't bc of the pillow cases. I'm not sure since I buy new pillow cases 1s a year bc it doesn't feel right after you've washed them a lot. I'd just suggest buying new pillows, if you're thinking of it.
Been having this issue for years now sometimes its the left sometimes its the right these nasal sprays never work for me and I hate using them. Im about ready to just remove my entire nose
@@steenmaharjan1033 I deal with that. For me, it’s the shape and general irritability of my sinus tissue. I’m still waiting (7 months and counting!) for my specialist consult for a potential solution, likely a stent or something. I dealt with this most of my life, but it became unbearable in the past few years as I’ve developed more and more severe allergies to pollen of all types.
I can hardly breath through my left nostril. I assumed any deviated septum I have is congenital because my dad has one. I did get hit in the face with a basketball when I was a kid though, and the hit caused a nosebleed. Wish I knew for sure why I have one. Anyway, I’m hoping to get a septorhinoplasty this year. Great video. 👍🏻
Similar thing here - was accidentally hit on the nose with a golf club as a kid, which certainly broke my nose and have had a blocked nostril since.....yet ENT consultant says the septum isn't deviated and has offered various drops and sprays over the years. Have tried saline washes, nasal dilators, tapes, allergy tests etc. etc. The disturbance to sleep, headaches and muzziness due to the blocked nostril gets you down.
I only have one nose, too, and use it for breathing, but constant stuffiness was what made me go see a doctor. All sorts of things can give you a stuffy nose and a doctor can diagnose whatever tbe cause of stuffiness may be.
Excellent video! I'm 74 and have never had allergies or sinus issues before. I'm trying all the OTC stuff, but so far it's been 3 weeks of misery. One nostril is blocked, yet I can breathe IN slightly, just not out at all. I can't blow my nose, and a neti pot doesn't work because it's blocked. It seems to be worse at night, so I bought a new pillow and allergy covers for pillows and mattress. I thought it helped a little, but today it's bad again, so I guess it must be allergies. I wouldn't mind if I could just blow my nose, but when I try my ears pop.
I have had an obstruction that keeps me from breathing out of my left nostril for about 6 to 7 weeks. I can breathe in but not as freely as usual. Sometimes when I lay down on my right side I can breathe out. It has been rough especially since I do have a deviated right septum. I tried Flonase and Coromlyn. No help. Finally got in to see an ENT. After a 5-second examination she said she saw nothing and blamed it on allergies. And I don't suffer from allergies. I had hoped they would do an endoscopic exam.....oh well. Ty for an informative video
