Have a 2015 428i XDrive, purchased and driven it about 5k kms in a few months of driving, really good on gas, pretty comfortable, just had to do some tires and brakes since i knew it was bad when i bought it, mechanically wise, the N20 hasn’t given me any issues yet, just did a full fluid flush out and it runs really nicely, and when you put it on sport+ it has a really nice punch, overall i really love the car and don’t regret not getting a 435i, buy one if you have the means but save a couple grand in maintenance. If i had one or 2 issues with it, the road noise isn’t the best, you will hear a lot of road and tire noise, and 2, the bluetooth and the screen are kinda finicky, but maybe it’s just my car specifically
I have a F32 430D MSport non-Xdrive, with a stage one modification. It has 320bhp, and 720nm of torque. 0-60, is easily below 5 seconds. I have 20" 275s at the back, giving the car an aggressive stance. I love my 430D, it is stupid fast, and a real drivers car. Mine has some great specifications, and it has some random specifications. The great specifications are the sport automatic gearbox, extended red leather interior, the stiffer non-adaptive MSport suspension (S704). It has Active cruise control, which is rare on this generation of car. The heated steering wheel is nice. There is a button below sport mode for the front peak cameras. They are in the wheel arches, and allow you to see left and right, when pulling out of tight spaces, or at blind junctions. Another neat feature is the rear retracting sun blind. Leave it up at night, and it offers another level of protection for those who drive around with full beams. The only thing my car does not have is the HUD. I did hold out for that option, but I never saw it with these other options together. What I am most impressed with is the Harman Kardon surround sound system in my car. Most people do not realise there are not one, but two different versions of Harman Kardon sound system on the F32 4 series. The lower quality version is the BMW HK Hi-Fi system (S674A), which has 12 speakers, a 360w 8 channel amp, and 2 ohm subwoofers under the seats. The premium version is the BMW Harman Kardon surround sound system (S688A). The car you are driving in, has this, easily identified by the tweeter and midrange speakers on either side in the back of the car. The S688A is a premium sound system, which was a £2k option when new, with 16 speakers, a 600W 10 channel amp, with 2x 8ohm subwoofers under the front seats. The S688A also has fibre--optic wiring to keep the sound true to life, and there is a setting on the iDrive for logic7 surround sound (another indicator for the S688A sound system). My 430D can also play DVDs, and there is a 20gb internal HDD for storing music. I love my 430D, and this generation of BMWs. I am going to drive it until the doors fall off. When the doors do fall off, I am going to upgrade to the only other car I desire, the F82 M4...
Nice one. That is a lovely spec of car. Heated steering wheel is an option I wish more cars came with. I didn't know that about the Harmon Kardon system tbh.
I bought a 430d as my first car. Despite being nearly 10 years old it still holds up - for something so cheap it’s incredible value (unparalleled in this segment), I thoroughly recommend to anyone thinking of buying one
@ It has been really good. Aside from a slightly sensitive tyre pressure monitor it has given me no trouble at all. Try reaching for the 6 cylinder variants, I almost bought a 420d but the 430d is what you want :) It’s really fun to drive and you don’t need anything better as a first car!
Recently chose an Audi S5 over one of these for a few grand more. The the massively more modern tech, Quattro, sportier noise and quicker acceleration made it an easy choice.
@@JJonCars thanks for the reply! Have you had the chance to drive the Panamera hybrid by any chance? Many company’s electric car schemes have it as an option because of the hybrid powertrain and was wondering if it’s decent..

'19 440i RWD 6MT w/ MPPSK. Bought as a toy to myself during the peak of lockdown in 2020, having traded in a MK6 GTI for it. Have since put about 15K miles on it in the last 4 years (you read that correctly, its a weekender/holiday car for me as I work in a city). Yes the steering is light but I've made minor modifications that have made incremental improvements over the years. I was a bit apprehensive about it at first esp. coming from a zippy hatchback but now that I've comfortably settled in I really enjoy this car for what it is. And that exhaust note, woof. I wanted something more mature than a GR86/BRZ and as much as I wanted a Miata, I wanted a useable boot & rear seat. This is also before the Supra/Z4 6MT variants came out but same concerns about practicality. To me it represents the last of the perfect blend of analog meets digital with the inline-6/6MT/RWD combo and modern conveniences without going touch capacitive crazy. Nor do I need to go all the way up to a bucktooth G82 M4 just to get a manual. Truly don't plan on ridding of my F32 unless I'm ready to upgrade to a 911.
im gettiing mine next week. what is needed is to update to a digital cluster , add a new media player and change headlights to LED so that makes up updated to today's standard

I'm personally more of a fan of how older cars feel to drive, the weighting of steering and other inputs. The 4 series is a great car but I'm happy with the Merc! It does doesn't it. And red is a great colour for RUclips vids, most cars are quite subdued colours... Not so good for thumbnails haha
I’ve got a f82 m4 having come from a f12 640i. For the same money as a 4 series you should pick up the 6 cylinder 640i. Much better build quality, 6 cylinder, 320bhp, much more luxurious and better equipment. My m4 is quick of course but I wish now I went for the m6

Yes. 2018 430d remapped by Remap KINGS (3rd car I've had done by them). 320bhp. Silly fast in Sport. Leave in comfort mode. 40ish mpg!
