    Brave man shunting Freighliners. Because they are so light I fund they had a propensity to derail . Great video as usual Oscar

      Your right there Russell they are very light. I was anticipating many derailments and having to blue tack all the containers on in the end. However during the making of this there were no accidents. The Southern Coaches with the white wall wheels and white roofs R.623A / R.622A are the worst for derailing that I have come across! Thanks again for taking the time to watch and comment. Oscar

    Hi Oscar, This set is in absolutely fantastic condition- you were lucky to find such a gem:-))
    Ironically in the 12 inches to the foot scale Hymek were never used on Freightliner trains - the EE Type 3 would have been a much better match. I think D7063 was chosen as it looked most like a Brush type 4 that were the staple power for these trains.
    I used to love filling the containers with airfix 00scale soldiers and ambushing the enemy:-))

      Thanks for the information. Sounds like you had great fun ambushing the enemy!

    Had one as a Christmas present when I was 6 or 7, and my cousin broke the loco the same day

    Excellent Oscar, I know the freightliner wagons are light but I did not expect to see a Hymek pull 7 of them up the incline.This is one train that I intend to run one day although my containers are mixed. Perhaps mine was a different set? Thank you for my Sunday morning smile. Cheers, David.

      Bit of a surprise to me also David. I started with the three from the set and then added more. It just kept pulling them. They are as you say very light. The made wide range of containers in the early 70s and some interesting ones for the Canadian market which are very hard to find here in the UK. It would be great to see yours running on the Highland. Thanks Oscar

      Thank you Oscar. A video showing my Hymek and container wagons is on my list of things to do. I just this last week received another gift from Ryan of a Tri-ang pulp wood load and two Canadian Pacific containers. David.

    Hi Oscar , as David commented that was some rake to pull up the incline . Looked great .....Peter

      Thanks Peter. It was great fun making this. As I told David I had no idea that the Hymek would preform this well even with the wagons begin light. Magnadhesion and Steel track give it the strength. Oscar

    Looks good ! I was a bit slow getting container trains but they look fine behind hymeks ,double headed or class 37's Are you thinking of getting arkitex yet? Ultra modern station or office blocks? I get a lot from making them and they go well with Triang-Hornby

    • @oscarpaisley
      @oscarpaisley  6 лет назад

      Good Idea double heading! I will bear it in mind for another time. Arkitex is on high on the list of thing to find. Ive been keeping an eye on some recently. You right it looks excellent with Tri-ang Hornby Railway. Oscar

    Nice video Oscar. Does that Hymek have a Ringfield motor as it pulls very well ?

      Hi John, this model has the old Tri-ang Motor bogie (MkIIIB / X3170) have a look at this link www.hornbyguide.com/service_sheet_details.asp?sheetid=123 I don't think this model got a Ringfield motor until around 1978/79. Oscar

    Another great video. Love your layout, it looks so clean. How big is it, 8 x 16?

      @oscarpaisley  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Carl, I wish it was 8x16 ft but sadly at present the space available means only 10x5 ft. Oscar

      Oscar Paisley wow still big, it looks massive on here though. After watching so many shaky shots on RUclips really appreciate the quality of filming as well :) thanks again.
