- Опубликовано: 11 июл 2024
- We've been thrashing on PowerKraut for weeks now and it's finally time to get this thing working right~! The engine didn't fit under the decklid, it was leaking coolant from 10 different spots, and the wheels/tire package were pretty underwhelming. Watch Tony Angelo and the Stay Tuned crew work and fight this 996 Porsche until it finally finally turns into a proper street machine!

I'm so happy to see all these "little" details being finished up! While I appreciate the 'get-er-done' videos I love that you're going back in to make this car an all-season driver.
40:17.... I haven't laughed so hard in a while, at the string of beeps... hilarious You guys are awesome. Happy new year to the Stay Tuned Team and their families. See you in 2024!
46:08 "and I swear to god if it leaks one more time I'm gonna convert that thing to air cooled. watch me"
I chuckled hard at that part of the video.
OMG…..me too. That was hilarious.
been there swore at that... hilarious!
The roller coaster of emotions this car brings. I can feel the pain when the rear coolant lines started leaking and Tony melted down. Keep up the great work and please keep the vids coming.
Stay tuned crew and Families. Have a great new years. Health and wellness for you and yours. Viewers/followers - ditto. EDIT- looking at those water lines. I'm thinking the designer/engineer drank way way way to much warm dark beer. Just an fyi - when you were carrying the new lines, it looked like a sci-fy megablaster death ray cannon master blaster 2000. (Patent pending as of right now). I see a shirt. I do. Lol
Appreciate it! Best wishes to you and all the gang!
said "looking at those water lines. I'm thinking the designer/engineer drank way way way to much warm dark beer. "
And you can do a better job? With limited space there are only so many empty spaces
@bobroberts2371 I absolutely cannot do better. Even with my German heritage. So yes the factory did better than I ever would of. (Maybe use better material or a inner treatment?)
I absolutely love this content. Real people doing real projects in a real garage. None of the other car channels have this.
Tony, you are an inspiration! This build is not only amazing, it was a royal pain in the ass. You and your team stayed with it, somehow, and got it done. I’m an old man doing cam and heads on my C5 and some of it has been frustrating, but your show of determination has picked me up! Thanks, big fan 👍
Man, I was worried. 🤣🤣 Thought you lost the Shop. Wouldn’t be a Friday without Tony and the boys. HellYeah. Beer and a Slice Time. Ready to Stay Tuned. Happy New Year!!
Tony, that Porsche is turning out awesome, you make us PA boys proud to see the work you and your team puts down! I can’t wait to see you turn up the wick and send it on the track!
Great project to watch, and I really think it showcased the great skills you and your team have as it looked like a tough build. It was also really great to see you took time to polish it up, rather than the 'quick and dirty' approach as this car is too good for that I think. Also thanks for the videos this year, I am sure a great deal of hard work and late nights go into these builds that as the viewer we maybe don't always appreciate... Happy New Year in advance to you and the team. Best regards.
I liked how the sweater matched the coolant, also great choice of wheels and glad you went back to 18 inch size which is the best for the 996
"If you guys can't jam those heater hoses up here WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO SELL THE SHOP!!!"
Apex wheels are the best in the business! I put 140,000 miles on a set with my 2016 Camaro SS before I had to sell it because I've gotten sick and am disabled now... and homeless and living in my Subaru for the past 3 years. These video's really help give me a distraction from the fibromyalgia and severe depression. THANK YOU
YES, basically.
Awesome work, almost makes me want to buy a Porsche... Having your own mil and lathe is absolutely awesome even if you are not a full on machinist, you can make/fix things you couldn't before. I love my Bridgeport and Southbend.
I never saw anyone else remote the throttle body. I knew it could be done but never seen one on an LS manifold situation, Great solution. Love this build sounds like it rips for sure. Ok IF everyone that watches subscribed he Could be over 250k subs. Lets get it done guys and gals. They deserve it and it`s very important for tony and his family!! Thanks guys.
Cool upload, please keep them flowing! ❤️
That’s a lot like the Apollo 911 from Hoovies Garage fame …. and of course The Car Wizard.
Awesome build. Power Crout. Clever.
The oil accumulator idea is fascinating. The old Hawk surface to air missile control surfaces worked on the same principle. That is there was a steel tank half of which that had an inner rubber bladder with hydraulic fluid in it and the other half was highly pressurized air. When the missile launched the air pressure was released into the vessel and the bladder would force fluid into the control surface actuators and the guidance system would work from there. Nice job on the headlights.
I want to be like Tony Angelo when I grow up
I love watching you guys work on this Porsche. I want this same setup. Best of both worlds
It took way too long to have an expletive laced rant! There’s no way you can work on all these projects and not lose it! Probably my favorite episode ever! Keep up the good f****** work!
HAHA, when I promise to get a car out on the road, I mean it! And that last disaster on a friday when we were going to take the next week "off" really got me!
Finally! The "magic incantations" that make every car repair/build complete. If it doesn't make you cuss, you don't care enough about the vehicle. Learned those magic words at a very young age, and the proper application of them which seem make things come together eventually. I've been waiting for that long string of bleeps that lets me know you care, lol.
Wow! this might be one of the best ST episodes to date. I feel equally as much love for everyone on the show, and it feels like they all, rotating guests included, are having more fun and camera time. The energy is unmatched. I also felt that sickening deja vu watching you fab the custom aluminum lines for the LS again. What a mess this episode was, incredible stuff Get that sht done Tony!
This channel never fails to amaze! I hope you had a merry Christmas! Keep it safe and God bless!
This project is realistic and I love it. The last 10/15 percent of my projects takes longer than the first 85/90 percent of the project. I like swapping engines… but then I break everything every time.
Not knocking the other guys (or girl) on HRG or Roadkill, but Tony's builds are better than most of anything turned out by both shows combined in his absence! So glad that this channel exists!
That does sound gorgeous! Lots of love for all of Zuffenhausen's finest!
Thanks! It's got a little high RPM howl that suits the car very well.
@@StayTunedTA that exhaust has pushed me to ditch the H pipe and flows and get xpipe and borlas
Happy safe new year to you & the crew Tony.
Happy new year! Thanks for watching!
You all da bomb Tony (and crew)! You all inspire me to get projects on the road, fight through the pain...and coolant leaks.
Fantastic project, thanks Tony😀
Jesus the amount of patience im sure this episode took from you had to be insane. I know a lot of guys who would’ve thrown a fit and given up for months after that second leak. Way to see it through! Car’s a ripper!
A little tip on the coolant tank. If you run a small auxiliary pump in the line down to the bottom rad hose it will constantly push coolant back into the system and pull the air/steam off the top. You can find them in the heating system of 80s and 90s Mercedes for certain but im sure theyre inntons of stuff. Its used to help circulation to the heater in factory form.
Entertaining and interesting too. Thanks for publishing your trails with German engineering. I run a set of Falken Azenis RT660's for autocrossing currently. Ran a set of Falken's over 10 years ago on my '98 Expresso Coupe for autocrossing then the original BFG RIvals and then RE-71R's until the Neon went past 216,000 miles and I gave it to my nephew (which he still drives) and bought a WRX to replace the Neon. Steak and asparagus - good pairing!
Happy new year Tony. Thanks for all the great videos.
Love the fresh content guys!

the sound of the hand pump for the cooling system pressure test brought back memories. First generation porsche water cooling glued in coolant pipes. You guys are living the 996 dream! God speed, its a great analog and simple car!!!
Compliments of the season Tony and crew! Love your content and personalities That Porsche is awesome.

Happy new year! Thanks!
Great content as always you guys are killing it keep up the work 👍
I feel your pain Tony! Chasing down those coolant leaks was a LOT of work! To hopefully ease your pain I ordered one of your cool Stay Tuned Richardson trucker hats! Keep on rocking the great content and May you and your guys and your families have a Happy and prosperous New Year!
Great Car. Great Video. I can't wait to see this thing on the track.
This is awesome Tony. Your packaging skills are next level💪
Fantastic show. I truly hate for it to be over. I enjoy all of it. I really feel like part of the team. Thank you
That Bridgeport is awesome it's a must have in a shop and there are so many things you can do with it too. The older the machine the better they re in my opinion and the longer they last.
Some conversions fight you every inch of the way. Glad you stuck with it and got it all fixed. I can't believe you had to replace every piece of coolant pipe in the car, that's crazy!
Looking forward to the tuning and finishing touches!
It's got such a cool sounding exhaust, not too loud to be annoying, just a sound that says performance.
You earned this one! Great car, great effort!
Beautiful. Good job boys.
AWESOME VIDEO!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR TONY
Merry late Christmas and I hope you have a fantastic new year. Excited to see what you guys build.
Freakin nailed it! Best one yet, keep it Rockin gentlemen!
Tony you are an absolute animal, to hell with RUclips's terms of service. That firestorm of choice language really drove home the frustration. I laughed myself to tears, I can tell you I felt your pain, and have been there. We all love you brother and thoroughly enjoy all of your posted content. Keep being 100%, and A Happy New Year to you your family and the boys! 🤘
You guys do great work 👏 kudos to you and your team
Always top quality great content
You guys are the best!! Great video I love the length 😅
Wheels and tyres make the build, love the extra sidewall, looks like an old school ripper!!! Tony you nailed it again brother
Great job
The wheels look awesome!
Can’t wait to see this thing on the Dyno and then the track. Awesome build on an awesome car!
Excellent rig…fun jig…congrats.
