I don't know everything, but I do know when building a motor it is very important to TORQUE the bolts! This is so good I guess he can tell by sound! Unreal, this motor won't last
Also assembled with no prelude except for piston rings. Filled with oil then started. 99% of internal parts will be bone dry. Sure that's not how Honda did it back in the day.
5:14 They're checking if the crankcase can hold pressure. Are the engines submerged in water or is it oil/a solvent? What prevents the liquid from entering the cylinder in the case that one of the valves happens to be open? Seems like it would be a pain to deal with liquid in the intake/exhaust ports.
Since the cylinder head is mounted in TDC, both intake and exhaust valves should be closed in that position. Also it is not only crank case pressure but the pressure in all of the engine and gearbox. I guess they pressurize it to see if there would be any leaks from the seals.
Timing is set so that valves are fully closed. Also, even in they did get the timing wrong, by pressurising the engine, the air would've got OUT, not the water IN.
