My evasion ability has really improved. Compared to the previous Inspire 2 series, the Mini 4 Pro is much better.
It's the best option an pilot has.
To evade obstacles manually.
And I fully agree that the techniques have been improved from the Inspire 2 to the Mini 4 Pro.

I was flying manually without waypoints.
But you can compare the avoidance feature cuz it is operating via visual assist cameras. Which means either you fly manual or via waypoints or active track the system is acting in the same way.
@@doatrip thank you! yeah i have Avata 2 but just got the mini 4 pro, and LOVE the follow features/active track etc, Both drones are awesome, both great for different methods of shooting.
It’s not that it’s not trust worthy it just has its limits. If you read the full brochure, you will know that obstacle avoidance is awesome.
That's why it is called stress test. 😉
Obstacle avoidance is untrustworthy…. It’s just in case u lose focus for some reason mid flight

My mini 4 pro crashed into a tree flying sideways in active track whilst tracking me walking. Broke the gimbal. Kinda disappointed the obstacle avoidance didn’t work. Sending it for repairs now. 😭

Exactly. And this is clearly seen when using vision assist. The cam resolution is far to low.

@@doatrip few days ago I was scammed(that was iPhone for bday and for my m4p because still I’m using iphone8 and got lags on rc-n2) and now it doesn’t depend on me but like you said, I will try. This drone wasn't designed to fly in the woods like this lol
It's not a question of flying in the woods, it's a question how good the sensors are working.
Imagine you rely on them while using active track in your car and some trees come in the way.
Dito obstacle avoidance suck can't be trusted you have to fly as if you have no obstacle avoidance, it makes you a better pilot
Let's say it's just made for obstacles that appears rarely in the way.
BTW this is one of yhe worst possible environments to
fly in.
Even worse still is above a river- wouldn't recommend at all
That's true.
But why a river?
I've flown mine over a river where it's successfully avoided a few small very thin branch no problem, alot of the problems I've had seem to occur when there are multiple small branches, the drone seems to make the wrong decision about which way to go and will hit another equally just as thin branch while having just successfully avoided one.
It's all about knowing the limitations and it's well publicised these drones have difficulty with small thin branches especially with no leaves on them.
By the way I don't see a river in this video 🤔
