    It’s so refreshing to see people making quality content about the voice instead of fishing for subscribers with an excess of reaction videos. These are the types of videos that truly help singers hone in on their craft. Thanks 👍🏾😊❤️

    This is interesting! I'm going to check out the app. It would be cool to, like you said, turn it into sorta like a video game to exercise the voice. What would be helpful...I think if you did a video specifically showing how to use the app to 'exercise' the voice like this! Like, 'Mixed Voice Exercises w Voice App' etc...Subscribed!

    Among laptops, pc machines make up 91% of the market, apple macs 5%, and other 4%. It's a bummer if there is nothing for pc laptops (mine) like that program you're using. I bought Bozeman's book, but gosh the one by Miller is $70! Don't get me wrong, as I love your stuff. I would just like to follow it more closely, but it's hard to do without software like yours.

      Check out VoceVista instead of Voiceprint, they have a trial version

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  4 года назад

      Right?! I couldn't believe that either when I found out they used a different GUI for PC than they do for Mac. In the future I may try and f=get with a developer (because I am clueless in that area) and try to make a spectrogram for both Mac and PC that does what I think it should do in order to train the voice and mainly the registers, but unfortunately that is prob a ways away.
      Regarding the books. I don't expect you to purchase every book I mention. Start with the Bozeman book, that was is brilliant. Soak it up.

    Interesting video. What's F3 anatomical correlate according to your research?

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  4 года назад

      F3 is controlled by tongue retraction as in American R which lowers it, it seems to have something to do with the cavity made by the lower incisors, I'm finding that has a lot to do with the so called twang sound.

    Another question since you are so kind, knowledgeable and responsive. I see that when I use full closure of my voice I can observe steady over tones all across and up to 8000hz in chest and up to 10000hz when trying with the starting notes of my head voice.
    Is it what expected from male bariton? Does it have any meanings/applications? I feel i was avoiding this kind of voice all my life because it vibrates unpleasantly in my forehead/sinuses and ring/buzz harshly in my ears, although in records it sounds nice and somewhat impressive/operatic.

    Can you do a video about appoggio

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  4 года назад +1

      Possibly. I don't like it when I see videos about appoggi from folks who have never studied with someone who actually teaches that method of singing/breathing (In other words from a teacher in Italy who has had that information passed down to them), and I never did. I do talk about breath management and support but I wouldn't say I am schooled in the appoggio method, I don't think many are.

    • @tylerwysong

      Eventually you will switch into what Ken Bozeman calls whoop timbre which is basically head voice.

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  Месяц назад +1

      If you are interested in formants and harmonics you should look into Ken Bozemans work. He has several interviews here in YT and has written two great books on this topic.
      I was a student of his for a while. He is amazing.

    • @s0me0nelse
      @s0me0nelse Месяц назад

      @@tylerwysong
      Ok now I understand, the chest voice start with 4-5 harmony as the formant, slowly moving to be the second. On the way there the formant passes through being on the third harmony, but it is not mix, because it is still in low notes, and the third harmonic in that case isn't a head note.
      It is considered a mix when it comes to the passagio and then the third harmonic is a head component, and if you successfully cooperate it by putting more force in it, you have a low and high combination that you can call "mix", a low note that sounds super high at the same time.
      I'll tell you what, if I close my vocal folds and push a bit, I get to a point where the second and third is almost the same strength, but the second always a litttttle bit higher. I saw that in your mix vibrato it switched between those two states of two and three switching in strength, I wonder if it still count as mix in my case 🤔

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  Месяц назад +1

      @@s0me0nelse Sounds like nyou are getting very close for sure. it's possible to get the 3rd significantly higher though. I would keep working for that. And then of course you can choose what to do, it's just that most people don't have all options available so they do only what comes instinctive to them which in my opinion is very limiting.
