Found my mixed resonance months ago and could hit up to a high A in mixed voice, but could not figure out why there was still strain and no vibrato. The simple cooling sensation and directing my inhale breath to the front of my mouth completely set my voice free. Thank you so much!!
Can't believe what a difference this made! Some songs I felt like I was swallowing the vowels and this sent the resonance forward again just by placing the tongie where you said. Thank you so much, have watched a lot of videos and nobody has ever mentioned this!
I have watched so many videos on singing and nobody has helped like you do ! I have no idea how you come up with some of your ideas but they work instantly ! The tip with the tongue lightly touching the bottom teeth was amazing. It made a huge difference for me ! Keep it up Tyler you're the real deal !!!
Hey Tyler this was really a great piece of advice! Can you do another video with the rest of the vowels. Also. how to modify open and closed vowels when going up? You are a great teacher with solid knowledge and a marvelous voice!
wow im so impressed. i manipulated the mouth sensation and i saw immidate change in the strength of the second harmonic strength in head, and the third in chest + one more overtone :o i tried to use the same engagement in both cases and repeated it and the effect was consistent
I have spent a long time wondering why would my throat and the soft palate area feel dry and sometimes even hurts me, and im so happy that i found this video, because now i know that the problem is narrowing those parts, i will try to go by your advice sensei! Tysm
Good job man! I find it quite valuable. Rather than just giving the exercise where people are not aware what he/she is doing, you are explaining as to how you should do it backed up by scientific reason.
about tongue position, i feel it promotes extra buzz sensation on the top of my "mask" and i can observe in the spectrogram it adds more overtones, no effects on the first harmonics though
Nice video. Easy to follow and practice. After trying, my breathing is in the right place. Yeah. Now I have to focus a little bit on the placement of the tongue.
Man you are great. I have watched only 3 of your videos and I am so much impressed. I experienced instant increase in range. I don't know much about music but I have started radio and I want to sound well on air. I am so sorry I don't have any money on me right now to book a session. I hope to do that when we are being paid but any links to some of your RUclips video that will be helpful to do my voice overs and have a great voice for radio.
Hey dude this was so so awesome! I’m currently working on tongue tension and just tension in general so mahalo for your helpful informative videos! I think it’d really help if you demonstrated the bad/opposite way of doing whatever technique it is you’re teaching. That way we’d might have a clearer understanding of what it sounds like when the technique isn’t executed properly. For example: singing Ahhh with the back of the mouth being cooled as opposed to the front. Or having your tongue retracted and lifted when singing as opposed to resting on the teeth. I think that’d be so awesome for us to hear the difference it makes in your voice and give us an idea of what to listen for when we practice! Thank you so much again!
Yes the dreaded h is tough! Try not to over "H" all an H is is honestly a slightly constricted airflow sound in at the glottis (hope that's not confusing) if anything I would shoot for an "imaginary" H or a very subtle H, possibly I will make a video about this because I think my explanation is a little confusing lol. Keep at it though you will get it!
So basically singing with the tip of the tongue resting under the top teeth is helpful because it puts the tongie in a forwsrd position on those vowels. Also how do i sing the sound 'ng' as in 'sing'? since it puts the position of my tongue in a place where it covers the throat.
Thanks a lot! Your videos are so soooo helpful👏🏻 Could u do a video about low notes?and how to sing them perfectly? My issue is that I can't sing low notes! My voice are super weak with them and when I sing them I feel my voice is not as comfortable as when I sing much higher We appreciate your help ☺️
Oh, Tyler. I am a student in berklee. What I have to say is that is really helpful! And one more question is when I sing high notes there is air flow come through my nose, is that correct? Could you answer that. Thank U!
Can you make a video how to not use your throat when singing? I’m getting confused when people say I sound throaty, not really sure if I’m doing things correctly. But surely, I can recognize that I’m not pulling up my chest voice. Just not sure if when I sing high, I am doing the correct placement or am I using my throat
Yes, however the tips in this video will actually help you not sound "throaty". Throaty singing is when there is some kind of distortion or tension happening at our around the vocal cords, the cooling of the mouth on the inhale as well as getting the tongue tip slightly forward will help you not sound "throaty". I hope that helps! Keep at it!
I can hit even a D5 and some days even a E5 in this mix voice range exercises....but .....still can't sing VERSACE ON THE FLOOR .....DAMN!!! Great exercises....for nothing
Honestly, i learned so much in this video and it's an aye opener for many aspiring vocalist out there. But i have to say you're so handsome and kinda hot too. 🤗

Yes I am so happy to hear that!

So glad to hear that! Thank you!
I love this! Could you make a video on how to get a more chesty mix? My mixed voice is too heady. is there a way to make it chestier?
Yes for sure there is a way to strengthen the mix! I do plan on releasing some new videos soon covering this topic!
Heyy thanks a lot man I can use mix easier with this technique. But I struggle on h consonant when I'm using mix. Any tips?
Yes the dreaded h is tough! Try not to over "H" all an H is is honestly a slightly constricted airflow sound in at the glottis (hope that's not confusing) if anything I would shoot for an "imaginary" H or a very subtle H, possibly I will make a video about this because I think my explanation is a little confusing lol. Hey man i have a question i found my mixed voice for 2 days it was fantastic but then my voice became dry again what exactly is wrong?
I found my mixed voice but still hard to maintain this register, any tips?
Can I use this mixes for rock singing? 😅 ..
Of Course! David Lee Roth is an excellent example of a rock singer who used the mix voice that I teach.
Does singing in my mixed voice mean that I won't get tired when I practice?
yes pretty much
I can hit even a D5 and some days even a E5 in this mix voice range exercises....but .....still can't sing VERSACE ON THE FLOOR .....DAMN!!!
Great exercises....for nothing
It took me a little while too. I do believe these are great exercises, so sorry you aren't finding value in them.
