Can you lift a Audi a6 C6 on this lift ? Is this lift to narrowly betwen the pillars
And do you have problems with height ? Does it lift to low ?

May be more than just tension, can you stick a camera down in there to see the big sprocket on that worm geared shaft ? Bet it's pretty worn as well.. Can you take out a link or two of chain to eliminate slack ? If not, maybe make a set of wheeled tensioners out of out of some old pulley wheels, garage door wheel hardware perhaps and some sort of metal spacer in between so the chain rides on the spacer and is centered by the cheeks (sides) of the pulleys? Mount them somewhere nearer to the sprocket to limit excess slack.

Did you resolve this? I've just acquired the same lift and having similar issue

I filed the tensioner to allow for a little more tension. Then used a ratchet strap to pull the whole collum Futher out to tension the chain up.
I should have changed the drive sprocket though as that was the main culprit.

@@njipods I suspect that my spindle lubricant thing is missing and I saw that your lift has some kind of a box on the bottom? Is that the lubricant box? And does the soft brush dip into the box to collect lub and lub the spindle? Can you send me pictures of this and how it works:) thank you for replaying:)

Yes there is a plastic box on the bottom that sits around the spindle with a seal. The felt pad dipps into this then spreads it on the spindle as it spins. Someone has greeced mine a lot and there hasn't been oil in it for a while. The boxes are damaged so just removed them. Have to re oil the thread often but it works fine
