    Osprey replaced my old Osprey Parsec when it developed some internal coating tears. They were very helpful and offered an equivalent $ replacement. Then the customer service rep said the Parsec was coming back as a 26L vs the old 32L. But they didn't tell of the kickstand feature. Basically, it is an internal frame. So, no flex makes it difficult to kick under the seat of an airplane. Also, the rigidity also makes it tough to ram in the overhead. So, I tried the TNF Recon, heavy, stiff, not good. Bought the new Nebula 32L, love it.

      Nebula looks perfect except for the lack of wider area where hip belt meets the bag, does the thin hip belt seem to work OK when the bag is heavy?

      I haven't used a hip belt since 1981 when I backpack the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Now I use a backpack for my personal care on with my Away larger suitcase for air travel. Once we get to our destination, I pull out the OSPREY REMNANT 17L for sight-seeing.

    I should have seen this video before buying the updated version of Ospery Comet, those two bags look just the same except for small differences. The Parsec is an ideal one for me because of its simpler design, and its ability to stand on the ground. The Comet always slips and fall on the grount even if you packed a all lot of stuff in there. Thinking about switching to the Parsec.😂

      so yes and no. if u cram it up full, you will have to squish it under the seat. But the problem is that it's a tall bag so its going to stick out quite a bit. I would not recommend this bag to be put under a seat! FYI I have been using the tropos more than the Parsec lately. I just came back from a trip actually! I used the Tropos and the Wandrd Rogue which I put under my seat

    Thanks so much for doing the video on this bag, Desy. I've been on the fence of whether to get this one, the new Tropos 32, the Osprey Axis 24, or the latest Osprey Radial. The Radial in particular seems like a good alternative to this bag because its unexpanded form is 26L, but can expand to 34L, & has a number of features similar to both the Parsec26 as well as the 2019 Tropos, like the kickstand & Airspeed back panel. Its back panel can also be adjusted for various heights, & the mesh pocket on the front is more usable than the zipped pocket on the Parsec 26. I originally went for the Tropos 34 instead of the Radial, but as a bike commuter who doesn't always need the full 34L I'm starting to regret not getting the Radial, so I'm interested in your thoughts. Thanks again! Great review!

    • @DesmondCheng
      @DesmondCheng  Год назад +6

      thanks! I like how the radial can expand, however the biggest thing I don't like is the concealed water bottle pocket. If you have a rubberized water bottle, its much more difficult to get into into the pocket as theres too much friction. That's why I stuck with the tropos / parsec, where the water bottle pocket is open and much easier to access. I access those pockets a lot as I also put in sunscreen, kids water, or an umbrella

    I'm curious how you would rate this vs the Radials. I have the last gen Radial that I swap between it and a TNF Access, and an older version Radial I cycle with. Also, compared to a Hikelite 26L.
    I so far like the Radial more than what I'm seeing with the Parsec. Seems to have most all of what the Parsec has, but also a rainfly. I don't carry more than one water bottle, so it has a side-stow pocket that's been quite useful, also the load lifter harness setup is actually highly-adjustable on the Radial, it has this button setup that allows for longer/shorter height torso adjustability. I do miss the L / S sizing, rather than the annoying O/S.
    Granted the bag is more cycling focused (ie: Extra shoe pouch, expandable/collapsible). I do like 3-large sleaves vs 2.

    I just got this. First impressions is that's its almost perfect (for me) other than the waist strap. By far the worst part about this bag. Annoying, flappy and even puts weird pressure on lower back. I'm thinking of getting the wings hemmed off.

      You could always just remove the bottom strap and just make sure the "wings" are flipped out instead of in when you put it on so they're not putting pressure on your hips. I just picked up the Tropos with the same wing design so I'm right there with you. 🙂

      mine always gets in the way of the zipper, so i was just wishing it would get moved over a bit so the zipper never catches it
