Ah, I use to remember using my student metrocard back in the days, my middle school days that is, and use to ride to and from school, whether it’s on the Q7, Q10, or even on the Q24, or when I want to go somewhere else, I would always use my student metrocard to go anywhere.
I remember when I had to pay for half the price :( I just walked 20 blocks to school and back nothing was free

Those are for luxury, that is why. It is more comfortable, safer and saves you time. Not even Senior Citizens are allowed a discount on express busses. Everyone has to pay the premium.

Unfortunately, I'm not gonna get one anymore because I'm now a part time college student.
Good news! There's a MetroCard for that too.
Model Z Only for certain students, like those in CUNY’s ASAP program at select campuses.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, almost all classes are now online, so the MetroCards for students have been suspended. Most likely they’ve been replaced with stipends.
@@TheRailLeaguer that is true. The College of Staten Island has the ASAP program for sure. I was never able to qualify for that unfortunately.
Now, I transferred to a different college: Baruch, which doesn't have an ASAP program.

The pandemic for a second wave maybe coming, so these metrocards may not be offered to us. I am in my last year of high school. Ever since middle school, I always look at metrocards as individual funds to increase service as demanded. No metrocards and beating fares, are portrayed as a fraud. Imagine no buses and trains, meets you have no place to go but lockdown at home. Personally, I would love walking. I always walk long distance.
