I'm late af, but anyway 🤣 These are my biggest problems with this movie: 1. They didn't want to take risks when killing characters, and that goes against the spirit of Scream, where anyone is likely to die. They didn't even dare kill minor characters. 2. The number of stabs and wounds that the protagonists endure just for being the protagonists. It gives the impression that Ghostface stabs with a fork. 3. This movie probably has the worst revelation and the most forgettable killers, and that's saying something considering Scream 5. They also copy the plot twist from Scream 2. And the killers are so over the top and overacted, they look like a parody. 4. The movie makes too many references and jokes about itself. I know Scream should satarize horror flicks, but it's really distracting how this film is too aware about itself. In some parts it feels like I'm watching Scary Movie instead of Scream. 5. They don't take advantage of the scenario they have. They are in New York and most of the scenes and murders could easily take place in Woodsboro except for the store and subway scene. 6. Once again, there are so many inconsistencies with the killers, because it's Quinn who attacks Gale and kills her boyfriend, and that's impossible, I don't need to explain why. Also, making the red-haired girl one of the killers. What does Hollywood has against gingers? 7. There are a ton of plot holes regarding the father being one of the murderers, it's never explained how the police and forensics team didn't realize that Quinn was obviously not dead and that she was wearing prosthetics. They only try to trick the audience but they don't care that it makes sense within the story.

The directors said no one died because they wanted the movie to be secretly feel-good. They also mentioned the ridiculous kills and survivals saying that they're not scientists they're entertainers and they want to make something fantastical
I am glad they all lived BUT it felt weak- lol… I’m guessing ppl will die in part 7. I appreciate them entertaining us and keeping the Scream Franchise alive, I just wish it was slightly more believable. Chad should definitely be dead, but again… I am glad he lived. 😅
Every problem you've mentioned is the reason why the 3rd act was the weakest part of the movie because it created a lot of plot holes with Quinn's fake out death and the killers being Richie's family. It really did feel like amateur writing if I'm being honest. I'm someone who love Scream 5 and had little to no problems with it but Scream 6 makes me question the writers now because the script is now the sloppiest one in the series imo. It's ironic how this movie has the most killers but also the most survivors. Rant aside, it's still a solid 8/10 movie but the 3rd act ruined what could've been a perfect Scream movie for me Btw, the directors recently mentioned how the killers/motive were originally slightly different where the killers were conspiracists who believe Sam's the killer in 5 and wanted to avenge Amber and Richie which would've been better esp in terms of logic
Right! Major plot holes but still a fun movie. The one thing that doesn’t make sense that I forgot about is the fact that the killer chases Sam and Tara into the bodega, which would have security cameras proving Sam is innocent and even if there weren’t cameras some witnesses escaped, that could easily clear her name. Definitely sloppy writing.
Agree with all of this. The writing was very sloppy. I could forgive that if the movie had stakes and Ghostface was allowed to kill anyone we met more than five minutes ago. I was honestly surprised they didn’t wheel out Mindy’s girlfriend and the therapist on stretchers at the end, both still alive. Might as well wheel out the three killers too, who could say “Hey, we’re all ok too! Sorry for overreacting back there” and then they could all hug it out and become friends again. That would be a REAL happy ending, and no more corny than the ending they gave us! They ruined what could have been some great, memorable deaths because they were so afraid to let go of any of the characters
Exactly! Suppose to the craziest one yet but no one died and the core four is superhuman in taking stabs. At least let us get to know Gale’s BF and Quinn’s hookup. Make her hookup the guy from the party that wanted Tara, anything to give us SOME character development. lol
Also… Quinn threw Gale BF through the wall?! What?! lol

Right! At least in part 2, Gale says that Billy’s mom looks familiar when she first meets her. (Even with the makeover)
