Hi CV. It's been a while....Yes he has such an amazing voice and stage presence but also an amazing human. He used this song, in fact the whole concert and a special CD was also created, as a fund raiser for the kids in Rwanda. The title of the song Fight for Survival really makes even more sense based on what he used it for. John isn't active on social media. But we do have a very active John Farnham fan page where we get updates from his family. The last update included a photo of John at his Christmas lunch table..he was looking happy and healthy. ❤❤❤❤

John is the greatest male vocalist of all time. Thunder in you heart was epic(from the 80’s movie “Rad” also did a bit in the soundtrack of “savage streets”. Anything John sings is epic.

Good to see Tommy Emmanuel doing a solo on an electric guitar......for those who don't know Tommy, he is a world renowned accoustic guitarist and finger picker. One of only 3 or 4 guitarists to be Certified by Chet Atkins. Recommend his video of Classical Gas , the one that looks like he did it himself, alone and in his house . He adds most known guitar styles to the performance and often adds jazz or classical runs and licks in the middle of a rock or pop song . Also his own INITIATION.....a very musical exercise in weird and wonderful sounds he can extract from an accoustict guitar and a pick up connected to a very small amp.
The line "fight for survival" was sung by the whole audience during the whole song. There is a video around where he trained the audience to do this, worth watching, it's so entertaining.

You should listen to "Intuition" written by by Tommy Emmanuel . · Tommy playing one of his signature tunes, dedicated to the Australian aboriginal people.2nd Tommy Emmanuel Guitar Festival Rietberg (Germany), I swear to god, I can hear a didgeridoo and many more sounds coming from his acoustic guitar. Totally another level, amazing.
Whatever we do today don’t make tomorrow the same. I didn’t see John’s backup singers and that isn’t totally his band. Like Tommy Emmanuel is a famous guitarist not in the band and he was there. John is known for his heart, this was to help kids and people just show up for him every time. People you don’t expect like Richard Marx, Tom Jones and so many others. John doesn’t expect some of them and he is surprised when they just arrive. That is who he is and he is doing really well. My brain is still trying to take in 26 Surgeons working on him for 12 hours. They must have been in shifts and I am so grateful they all showed up for John, that isn’t counting everyone else working in that room.
Though Tommy Emmanuel was an early member of John’s Farnham’s band before he became famous as a solo performer. There’s even a YT video of Tommy accompanying John on “Burn For You” back then. He was also part of the recent documentary about John’s life. It’s a testament to their long friendship and collaboration that Tommy would be involved in a charity event with John.
