One additional comment. I like how you number your knives. I have just finished my 5th knife, and seeing how great yours are at number 75, gives me something to work towards!

Great video! Thanks for all of the detail. A couple of questions please. What is the spring made of? Looks like maybe an old saw blade? Also, and recommendations on a small forge like yours? I built a paint can forge, but it's not great at getting even heat. Want to upgrade a bit. Thanks from Texas!!!

Nice! I’m also originally from Texas. Grew up in Texas City near Galveston. Been up here now for about 14 years. The spring is from some scrap metal I found on an old toolbox. So unfortunately I can’t really say what type it is. I just tested different pieces until I found one that worked. Something I’ll have to chase down when I run out of this piece. I built my first couple of forges and they weren’t real efficient. I bought this one from Diamondback Ironworks. It’s been great!

Thanks! The bench top belt grinder is 1/3 HP. The vice has 3 different pivots so it’s pretty versatile. I can position it in most any way I need. Got both from Harbor Freight pretty cheap for starting out.
