HUD in the cockpit YEEESSSSS!!! I know you hate this O-Kill but I sometimes struggle to read critical cockpit instruments on my little 21" monitor, so much so that in many aircraft I often find myself quickly switching back and forth between cockpit and external view so I can confirm an instrument readout by checking the HUD in the external view. I know it's looked down upon by many hardcore simulists and for some it breaks the emersion but it's a welcome aid for us monitor size challenged, recreational pilots. Awesome vid 👍given!
I'm so disappointed Microsoft hasn't fixed the river height issue that's all over the place in the USA. The area just south of the Franconia Notch in New Hampshire, for example, where the river runs hundreds of feet above the surrounding terrain. The human-piloted drone is fun, and the new military jet is too.
You say "Ah! Hit THAT" to get the EXTERNAL replay. But even though I have watched it about 10 times I can't seem to spot you doing anything on the screen. So could you please help? What does "THAT" mean?
I enjoyed this as I didn't have time to get into all the intricacies of the newly introduced features. I like that we're able to skip/jump trough sections that are nicely organized. Also a small correction regarding the DX12 at ---> 24:45
I noticed that the Metar did not Match the ATIS temp was off. If you noticed the dew point in the Metar is M06 (-6 Celsius) ATIS is 10 which it always has been from Day one from MS. There is times that the temp is 6C and DP is 10C is real weather the Dew point can never be higher than the temperature ever. As a pilot you know that the Temp and DP can be equal and that means FOG so as you plan your flight you notice the temp and DP are closing into equal you probably need an alternate or cancel the flight.
As I understand you can use record camera sequence to make this whole sequence as a complete cinematic movie which will change camera movement and states while you play this sequence. It is likely that because it is internal tool, developers used for their needs. And with that it is cool that we can have different camera sequence tracks.
This is something that XPlane was superior at it. Replay mode instantly available to enjoy your horrible or perfect landing at any time. Just by clicking on replay player and enjoy it whatever camera o position you wanted.
I am one of those sad puppies who would actually LIKE to use the HUD when sitting in the cockpit BUT if I go to Assistance Options/User Experience/Instrument Panel Heads-Up Display - Cockpit Cam the only options I get are OFF or MINIMAL. The Chase Camera has three options (OFF, MINIMAL and FULL) - I obviously need the full option on the Cockpit Cam to see all the HUD gauges but it's missing for me - does anyone know how to fix this please? - Many thanks
I've been using MS flight simulator versions formore than 20 years. I can't remember any other version getting this many updates and bug fixes. Whats so different about this version? Is all this update activity just because it's more complex? And because we have to have XBox on the PC as well?
DirectX12 didn't go so well I'm my Radeon 6800XT that for sure. Took a definite FPS hit. Non of my Carenado aircraft cause a CTD. Haven't had any CTD's yet. My assistance settings keep reverting to easy which is really annoying.
Thanks for posting - only major issue I'm having so far is refusing to close on quit. Hasn't had that for months, but thinking of renaming my moved (backup from previous) Community folder, and deleting the recreated one from the sim. Also considering uninstalling marketplace 3rd party addons. Not sure if that's the issue, but it's a bit concerning so far needing to force close every time again.

Hi. Thanks for the news about this upgrade. On my world map, instead of night time moving side to side it moves top to botton? Direct X drops frame rate dramatically and is not worth it at present. And WOW the cost of the setup for racing. The whole lot is way expensive so won't be buying any of it. They show normal price as over £300 discounted to about £50-60. Not for me folks..
When I try to start MSFS2020 it tells me I need to go into the fltsim story to do the update but when I look into my settings there is no update showing. Is there no work around??
A 3rd part issue is that TrackIR isn't working properly... as soon as you block the sensor it stops working entirely, restarting TrackIR doesn't fix it, you have to completely restart the sim.
can anyone help? when i pan the camera with right mouse, it now make the camera move backwards, away from whatever direction i’m facing. it’s not fit for purpose. is this a bug or a feature?
I’m ready to take my computer the field and put a stick of dynamite in it. I want to go back to update 4🤬. They did fix the brake warning issue in the TBM, but now a dozen other issues come up.
What is the fix to that? It’s so annoying I can’t figure out how to move it with my mouse. Before the update, I could move the globe with my mouse but now I have to scroll to it.
After doing a full and clean install after this update ,all my settings from before are back to default! When I change some settings, save and apply, it works fine. When I start up the sim agian later every thing is back to default! Hoping to work out if it could be the simulator not regonizing my gametag or something in that order. Always dread for these big updates!
Every update the HUD and assistance settings are always set back to on and easy. Dang, Carenado planes broken again. :( Haven't tried any of them yet but I'll hold off for a bit.
My sim crashed to desktop during boot sequence. With the pilitus plane on the screen and just less than a half of the progress bar it stuttered and went to the desktop. I was so pissed, i didnt try it and walked away. I may try it again, or just use xplane 11
The tip for map not panning was very useful! Thank you!! Assistance options keep resetting itself to "easy" every time MSFS is started. VERY annoying! Hopefully there will be a hotfix for this soon! Also found annoying the new PC-6 aircraft all start with electrical on even from ramp start. Volocopter display doesn't seem to work, I keep getting a blank screen with it.
You don’t even need to restart the sim for the Assistance options to reset, I just did another flight in a different plane and it did it. Also noticed the new planes starting with power at a parking spot and my menu items like the ATC, Checklist etc windows wouldn’t open properly in the second flight. Same old quality from Asobo. 🙁
I've not tried this, but i'm gonna guess the reason you kept having to turn dev mode back on was because you kept exiting it to get rid of the bar on top. ........ a few options above "exit devmode" i also spotted an autohide function. ;)
cessna 182 didnt crash my sim, but the weel brakes on the f-18 didnt release... i mean Pbrake and pedals. I have assigned to axis on the stick for both weels and axis on floor pedals for left and right. I only experience this with the f-18, no other plane. I haven't been able to fly in months. i7 9700k RTX 2080super 32g ram on a SSD.....12fps... on low settings. if i get with in 100ft of the ground any where the sim becomes a slide show which makes take of and landing impossible. apparently no one has an answer or a fix even MS support.
Hallo, greetings from Norway (ENML is closest airport). Updated my sim. ALL went well, exept the tbm 930 improvement mod. It flies, but FLC speed setting (wheel) don't work. VS climb/dec wheel do not work. Yokes can not be removed. Default tbm 930 works, but not as good flightmodel. I guess we need an update to make the improvement mod SU7 compatible.
Have heard some saying that in VR, hitting Ctrl+0 allows menu to work. However, Ctrl+0 teleports me to the rear of the TBM-930 passenger cabin looking out of the port side windows. Menu works but I can't get back to the cockpit without Ctrl+0 again switching off the menu again. Why Asobo, why????
Game mode and hardware accelerated GPU scheduling on for DX12 to perform better than DX11? I've seen some 2080ti dude getting better FPS with DX12 so I assumed he had those 2 settings turned on. Also waiting for my download to complete so I can test it on FTW3 Ultra 3080
Soooo the night lighting distance looks just as bad as before? And now it stutters like crazy on both dx11 & dx12. And ground textures looks TERRIBLE… AGAIN!!! What are they doing?
Pls I noticed ur ATC ATIS has no sound. My ATC also has no sound in the Gamepass Version of MSFS, but the Steam version is relatively bug free, and ATC works ok, pls is there a fix for No Sound ATC? I have tried some online suggestions to no avail.

Can you imagine how much better this game could've been if Microsoft had hired a competent developer? I mean, it's come a long way since its release last year, but it still feels like FSX 1.5 to me. And anytime there's a new update, Asobo manages to break something that worked perfectly fine, or do something completely idiotic like adding the HUD to the cockpit view and then hiding the ability to turn it off in the Assistance menu. Because why would that be in the normal options, right?

It didn't work with update 6. :-( So I've been enjoying flying the A340-600 in X-Plane 11 the last couple months. :-D Big Boy. So i will let you know how it works on my system once i install it.

The replay system is pretty awful as it is. Horrible camera controls, and very glitchy too. I did a 15 minute flight with the Hawk T1 last night and the undercarriage was flickering in and out throughout the entire flight. Couldn't go back inside the cockpit as all the caution and warning lights were showing along with the annoying alarm which I couldn't switch off.
DX12 is not optimized whatsoever… and it is too bad. They should have never build the sim dx11. DX12 was already out for years before they start work on the flight sim.
Even that the replay is beta... why hiding it behind 10 buttons and not even save the setting? Why not in standard settings with (beta) behind it... total rubbish idea.

Metar and ATIS often don’t match up perfectly. METARs are update twice per your while ATIS is only updated once pee hour.
Put your off-screen cache to Ultra. It stopped the stutter for me in DX12

The metar is published in (Z) Zulu time or Greenwich mean time that's why it appears in the future considering your in Arizona

Regardless of Mouse profile used, Menu bar will not operate in VR. Also can't click on yoke to turn it off with mouse in VR.

I can't start the TBM . The mouse will work with all the switches except ignition and starter. Bummer !!!!

I thought you had to reload msfa when ganging from DX 11 or 12 to 12 or 11 respectively ?

The bell 47G will not load in the sim after SU7. no update in content manager.
