      It is dangerous and it’s in everything! Hot chocolate mixes(especially Starbucks) have been found to not only have lead in it but cadmium as well! Makes you wonder how much lead overall we are taking in….especially our children.

      How old are you? They literally said at the end that the lead is concealed, and it does not come into contact with your drink unless you damage it. They simply pointed out that we are all exposed to lead. and that the simple fact that lead is in the cup is not a red flag, the question is how much lead/how much, if any exposure.

    If the lead is available to test it is also available to ingest. The cups testing positive can and will leave lead in/on any surface it sits upon. It can and will leech lead onto your dish rag and it will absolutely be available to contaminate your hands.

      in order to test, u have to remove a stainless steel cap that's on the bottom. in this video it has the stanley logo on it. If that comes off then yes everything you said could happen, but as long as it's intact then there's no issue

      @@StayBassd If you can remove the plug then everything I said *will* happen. It just isn't worth the risk. I work with a 50 year old woman that can't read and acts like she's about 7 because of lead poisoning. Why would you take the risk? Just to look cool? Will you look cool standing in the middle of a room watching lights sparkle while you rock in place?

      @@MavonEast for the record I don't own one of these. Just wanted to argue that most folks wouldn't continue to use a clearly damaged cup, but I'll stop here. I agree that lead exposure isn't good, best of luck to us all.

      A lot of materials like this have toxic components. It in no way poses a threat to your health, stanley cups goes through strict testing procedures to be approved by the FDA and other entities. The leakage thing is a myth, several people have tested these cups and they all came back negative.@@MavonEast

      Is battery acid bad? Does it burn tpur hands? What about lithium batteries....would you want to expose those to oxygen? There are thing that aren't good for you infamy products.... but if used correctly there isn't a problem. This story is kinda non sense

      You do realize that there's lead in drinking water in minuscule amounts lead as well? So does fish, processed foods, spices, soil, etc. Inner parts of stanley cups dont get exposed to lead at all.

      No lead in my drinking water, and I don't know what contaminated fish you're eating but I don't have lead in my fish either. Herbs and spices in Australia do not contain lead. You seem to excuse the terrible food safety practices in your country and pretend it's normal. Lead is a heavy mental that can leach through other metals so I will not be drinking out of any Stanley cups, but hey, you go right ahead, nobody is stopping you.

      my dude, there's tiny amounts of lead in everything, just google it. Lead is used in several things that can be found in your household. The lead in stanley cups have been shown to not be harmful at all since it's a tiny bit of lead surrounded by steel at the bottom of the cup, lead professionals have said it's completely safe after testing it with state of the art equipments.     I remember learning about the Franklin Expedition and how one of their downfalls was the improperly made canned goods that used lead sodder to seal the cans, the sodder leaked inside the cans contaminating the food.
    If a team comes together to test the tumblers to ensure no lead has leaked into the inner cup it should be fine. However, i am neither a doctors nor a trained scientist that one is on them.

      A lot of times it’s because they removed the caps on the bottom which is where the lead is present.

      They would have to break open the cup to get at the lead. It's a little circle at the bottom of the cup.

      It's a Welding plug that seals the bottom of the cup, that's how all Vacuum Insulated Thermoses are made.
      You're not licking the bottom of the Cup, are you?

      ​@adamgreenhill110 the tests swabbing the inside are not real. that's simply not where it's located. there's a space inside of the wall of the cup that separates the lead plug from the drinking wall. that space is what insulates your beverage

      @@StayBassd You're right, I've researched it more now. Every insulated cup has a bottom plug, sealed with lead solder. Mine has one, but it's sealed off. So the Stanley ones can be exposed (at the base only), but it doesn't matter if you keep it sealed

      ​@@ciarad5963it's a double wall cup. The lead pellet is on the outer wall. It can't leak through the air gap and then through the inner steel wall of the cup. I suspect the majority of these "at home tests" are detecting lead that's been deposited on the cup from the environment or the liquid they are consuming.

    Power cords used to contain lead.
    It made them durable and flexible, but didn't harm users.
