    No one talks about using the clip on a sling bag with a mono strap that crosses the front of the body and how the camera doesn't hang properly.

    I love my capture clips! Funnily enough, I use the v3 clip with the pro pad v1 (as opposed to this pro pad) because I actually like the holes it has to mount the clip for vertical carry when wearing a belt (remove/insert camera in a left-right sliding motion instead of an up-down sliding motion; I use my pinky to depress the release button) in addition to mounting it horizontally. Peak Design stated they changed the design after user research/feedback but I guess I’m one of the few who like the old one, haha! In any case, awesome video! :)

      Thank you, that's great to know about the alternative with the old Pro Pad. I agree - removing features is not always the best idea, but it seems they did this in all the ways with the Capture Clip (where there is also the additional tripod screw & fixation screw missing).

    These mounted on the chest level never work, try further down the back pack straps, there’s a point where the camera balances it’s self upside down which works really well

    Thank you for the video. I've been using the Clip for about three years now, and it's always been one of my favorite accessories. But now I've found myself in a situation where I need to clip a lens pouch the same way, and nearly all pouches are made to fit onto a belt, not a shoulder strap. So far I've been working that around by attaching a neoprene lens pouch with a plastic clip to the bottom thin part of a shoulder strap, and leaving it bounce back and forth during hikes. That was OK for small MFT lenses, but now I've got myself a rather expensive and large Panasonic Leica 100-400, and I don't want that lens to bounce. So I'm looking for a solution which would allow me to attach this lens in a pouch the same way I attach the camera. Any ideas?

    🇨🇦/🇺🇸... The frustration with that mount is that I really like my "L-Bracket" with the Arca Swiss rail base to it. I have the Peak Design travel tripod but overall I'm not a huge fan of it. That little SQUARE hangin' out on the bottom of my camera, in my mind, is not the best design! And so, I have to keep looking. :-/ Cheers, bro!

    • @ChrisSpiegl
      @ChrisSpiegl  11 месяцев назад

      I understand that struggle. Personally not a huge user of L-Bracket mounts but yea… having to mount a L-Backet and then another Arca Swiss plate is a lot. I have this on my Gimbal L-Braket for vertical shooting but at least that's not always on my camera 🙈.

    Good review video. Does regular Arca-swiss plate fit in version 2?

    • @ChrisSpiegl
      @ChrisSpiegl  3 года назад

      To have a secure fit you need an Arca-Swiss plate which is square and has the correct size. I have not used any other plates which are not made by Peak Design, so I can not really comment more on this.

    Bueno, respecto a la mochila, hay un truco que no mencionas en tu vídeo. La V3 del clip es más estrecha que la V2, entonces necesitas una mochila con unos tirantes no muy anchos porque de lo contrario no puedes poner el clip V3. Sospecho que la mochila que usas en el vídeo es la de peak design, que está adaptada, lógicamente, a la nueva anchura del clip V3. Yo me acabo de dar cuenta hoy que he comprado el V3 y me quedo como un tonto viendo que solo mis clip V2 me siguen valiendo para la mochila mientras que el nuevo V3, no. Sí, es más ligero, pequeño y bonito, pero no me vale para la mochila. Esto lo veo muy injusto y engañoso, y en tus vídeos deberías mencionar este aspecto visto que tú también tienes clips V2. Explica que usas mochila peak design o una mochila con tirantes estrechos.

    Hi, can you help with some information…with the Peak Design Capture Clip mounted on your backpack do you need to have a decent amount of weight in the backpack so it’s not pulling down and lop sided with the weight of the camera being on the one side or can you have a fairly light pack and it’ll still be ok? Thanks for your time 🇨🇦

    • @ChrisSpiegl
      @ChrisSpiegl  2 года назад +1

      I have never worried about the weight in the backpack. I mean… I wouldn't just use a completely empty one or one with tiny straps. But if you have a normal backpack with a bottle of water in it you should be fine.

    • @kore996
      @kore996 2 года назад

      @@ChrisSpiegl thanks. I have a small camelbak pack that I carry a few tiny things for my toddler and a small drink for him so it doesn’t weigh much and I was a bit worried but I think I’ll give it a try because I don’t particularly like using a strap and I’ve tried a couple of them and they are all pretty much the same.

    I wonder why PD never made newer versions of the lens capture mount. I was hoping they upgraded those and/or make an Fuji x-mount version for awhile now but no news

    PGY Tech do the beetle and a POV clip which is much much better (quality and functionality) . If you are carry a heavier camera a sternum pouch is better as in it spreads the load ,is more balanced and offers better camera protection.

    The Pro Pad is absolutely terrible when used on a backpack strap. They gave zero thought to comfort when designing this. The top corners of the pad are too sharp and dig in straight away when used. I cannot see how they could have tested this and thought it was comfortable. I regret spending money on the Pro Pad! The capture clip is great, though I wish it was a little bit wider to fit on more substantial backpack straps.

    • @ChrisSpiegl
      @ChrisSpiegl  2 года назад

      Seems this depends on the person wearing it. I am using the Pro Pad on my backpack quite happily. No issues with it digging into my arm or anything.

    I use the Spider Pro Single Camera System SCS V2 holder, i think it's so much easier to use, do you know this system ?

    • @ChrisSpiegl
      @ChrisSpiegl  3 года назад +1

      I think this may depend on your use case. I heavily depend on the Arca-Swiss Quick Release Plate and thus the Spider Pro holster system is not for me. But if you are strictly a photographer working with the camera in your hand, I can see how the Spider may be better than the Peak Design System.

    I have this rig. I have not used it much until now and I am looking at RUclips for the various descriptions and use experiences.
    I have one question and that is....while the propad is on the belt and positioned slightly more back on the hip, how difficult is it to get to and use the release button? You did not show that in this video and I found the release process to be just a little bit tricky even with the pad and camera riding more forward. It is definitely a two handed process releasing the camera off the clip and there seems to be plenty of room for (maybe dropping the camera) error.
