    Very nice job brother! I LOVE to watch you work! I have a friend with a 2004 C230K Benz that needs this done and my only worry is that maybe he has bent valves. Is there easy way to tell if valves bent or not without first changing everything and then doing your 'Easy' Compression test??

    • @H1111H
      @H1111H  2 года назад +5

      yes, there is.... on the top off the camshafts there is the camshafts holder , that big plate, when taking off the camshafts holder all valves will be closed all the way, then doing the easy engine Compression test mean blocking the spark plug housing with a plastic cup secured by wire to the engine and safety glasses must be worn, turning the engine slowly and when the plastic cup fly that mean the valves are not bent. :) good luck chain should be off with the camshafts to do this test if timing out , other way if the engine timing is right can do the easy Compression test without taking off the Camshafts plate.

    • @H1111H
      @H1111H  2 года назад +4

      to replace the timing chain guide that on the right side of the engine , need to take off the engine chain cover, but this guide does not get damaged easy as the other guides, it is very strong. if it is damaged it should be replaced by taking off the chain caver and replace it with new chain guide. have a nice day.

    Maybe you could provide some insight for me. I'm replacing the chain also on my m271. My timing marks on my cams do not line up and I've seen the chain jump when turning the crank by hand. I have 2 special MB tools that locks the cams in place and chain crimping tool.
    The goal is to replace the chain and tensioner. How can I get my cams lined up correctly if the chain has visible jumped already? I'm a little bit pissed TDC. Could I remove the tensioner and create slack on the chain and turn everything counterclockwise or clockwise so I can line everything up?

    Thanks for the video. How can you turn the crankshaft without removing the camshaft? The pistons were supposed to hit the valves, right?
    What was the metal bracket you installed on top of the camshafts?

    • @H1111H

      Thanks for watching, for this engine W203 and the engine W212 only!!! , I put the engine timing Tool on the cams and then , I do turn the engine slowly with very careful 😀 and the Pistons will not touch the valves. I did this way for more then 70 engine timing chain setup and no Pistons touched any valve, this is only for W203 and W212 Engines , other engines will touch for sure!!!! .

      Hello Mr. Ron, First You Need To make sure that there is no valves damaged, you need to remove the aluminum plate that holding the cans in place, so all valves will close and after that you need to wear Safety glasses and hold up the engine chain by metal circle bar and then turn the engine by hand with very careful while blocking the spark plug housing by a plastic cup and turn the engine slowly, if the cup fly that mean the valves are good on the cylinder you testing for safety the cup should be Secured by Secure wire to the engine and make sure that you Wearing safety glasses. you can watch my video on my channel to see how i do this test for the engine Valves. • @H1111H

      First the Gears and chain with the guides must be changed, to turn the exhaust cam, put the old gear on the cam, with the crankshaft at O/T cylinder one is up, start to turn the cam using Big screwdriver on the teeth of the gear with the screwdriver on the side of the cylinder head, turn until you can put the timing tool on the cams, remember you have to be very careful, safety first always remember that. if you feel the valves touching the piston turn the crankshaft a little bit. have a nice day.

      Sometimes the engine harmonic balancer is out of right timing because it has rubber between the Pulley and the balancer, if piston 1 is up the O/T is at 5 or 10 or more that mean harmonic balancer is faulty and need to be changed to get the right timing marks for the engine.

  • @hydorah

    Quick question mate, can an exhaust cam phaser / timing gear be so bad the engine can't start? Mine turns over with good compression but I get a code P0366 I tried a new exhaust cam sensor but still have P0366 and engine cranking but no start. I'm wondering if it's worth buying a timing kit and the locking tool and replacing the timing gears. Cheers!

    • @H1111H
      @H1111H  Год назад +1

      Hello Mate. Make Sure Safety First. Try to put long Phillips Screwdriver in the Spark plug housing cylinder 1 and turn the engine by hand to get the piston number 1 up for sure, then look to the crankshaft harmonic balancer and make sure with the piston 1 up the OIT mark that on the balancer is on the engine make , if not that mean the rubber of the balancer is faulty and turned and will give wrong timing mark. if it is on the right mark. then check the cams marks make sure the marks of the cams gears are set with the mark that on the cams holder's marks or with the timing tool on. if the engine timing chain is right , check the engine compression . try to watch my video on my channel that says how to do engine compression test without tools and see how i do my way to check the engine compression test, !!! Hello Mr. Caz , this is why i like this engine, when setting up the timing chain for this engine and lock the timing chain with the timing tool on the cams, i noticed that the valves will not touch the pistons, just for this engine !!!! but Sometime the valves will touch the pistons, to make sure its not touching, must feel when turning the engine to put the new Timing chain, if i feel that the pistons are touching the valves, i Stop turning the crankshaft to don't make damage for the Valves, i did more then 50 times job like this and never pistons touched the valves when !!! the timing tool set on the cams !!! but different engines, Maybe 80% or more pistons will touch the valves when turning the engine like this. for this engine if the engine running and the timing chain get damaged, 90% valves will not get damaged, if the engine stop after chain Get Damaged and no one did try to start the engine after the chain damaged. that why i like this engine, it has good space between the pistons and the Valves just when the timing tool is fitted on the cams, otherwise the pistons and the valves will hit each other.. Thanks For watching, and Have a Nice day.
