I have enjoyed seeing all your different projects so much. I may have just ordered a black out journal. I am totally inspired by Helen with that and I am doing the same. Mary Beth your Helen Stewart shawl is going to be stunning (although it looks like it matches Helen’s outfit today so you might need to keep a close eye on it!) Helen I totally agree with you about parking the cross stitch. It might be the perfect project for you one day but just now it isn’t. Life is too short not to work on projects that make you happy. Thank you for a lovely podcast xxxx
Luca is so cute! Too funny about the oceans' movie, totally agree. Lol. Love your crafts. Clifford is a cute movie too! I have that merlin app! It's amazing!!!! You can keep a list of them all. - All the best gals, you deserved a stay-cay. - Kimberly
Loved seeing all the different crafts- so much fun. I am trying to combine 2 crafts: my project is Charles and Michelle- Our Life Together. I cross stitch a small and then will scrap a page and journal about that event, i.e. we went to Williamsburg for our honeymoon and I stitched a small of the tavern that we ate at and will journal and add pictures for the page. Right now I am working on a small of the Oriole Bird because we went to opening day for our first date. It's my neverending project which allows me to work small and on things I like and if I don't like it, it's not big. Thanks for all the inspiration and fun. Michelle
I am so pleased I found you two lovely ladies today. You're inspirational 😀. Love, love the booklet folders and I would definitely copy both of you putting my EPP in one. I'm not confident with zips wondering if I could use poppers instead? Not too happy with the see through stuff either but definitely going to purchase the pattern when wages come in lol. Like the idea of the envelope folder too. My mum used to put money in envelops in a tin every week with a running total. She could save 99p out of a 100 I swear. Wish I could do the same😜.. I'm going to watch some of your previous videos to find out a bit more about you both and see what goodies you have done. Totally understand about finding the time to do all the hobbies that we love. Stay safe Ladies and thank you both🤗
Thank you so much and a big fat welcome to The Hollow! I think snaps could work to close the whole booklet but with the vinyl inside pouches I think you’ll need the zippers
Thank you both! I wish i could join Knit night but I have an end of the year school party. Have a great time. I have already ordered a black journal and pens and am looking forward to my animal box coming later in the month!!!
I absolutely love seeing all of the fun and interesting crafts you two do. I am currently primarily into knitting and crochet, but like many of us craft-lovers, I have done quilting, cross-stitch, embroidery, sewing, paper and digital scrapbooking, and other odds and ends crafts throughout my lifetime. Those binder pouch notion keepers that sit on a book shelf are AMAZING. I love to keep my crafts and notions organized and that thing is the BOMB! Great job, you two. By the way, I also love seeing your pets. Our house currently has a golden retriever, a mostly German shepherd mutt, a bunny and several lizards. I prefer the fluffy furry pets but my adult daughter loves her lizards. So much crafting - so little time. Too many WIPS! But my current philosophy is to work on only the WIPS that I am really enjoying and motivated by. The others will wait for me . . . Whenever I feel so motivated.
I really like the envelope book, but it would seem to work better to have the envelopes opening from the top, no? Maybe Helen, on your cross stitch, you could switch around with the colors or animals it would be easier to see your progress and enjoy it coming together. Just a thought.
This has been a totally fun and inspiring podcast. I can’t believe how much you have accomplished over your staycation. Helen, I can totally relate to your conflict about whether or not to put a project aside, or even abandon it. As the years go by, I’m finding it easier to know if my energy for a particular project is gone, or might have a chance of returning. Life is short. Coincidentally, I recently discovered the Merlin app. I love it. Now I know what a downy woodpecker sounds like. And aren’t grey catbirds wonderful? It was so enjoyable to hear all the birds throughout this podcast. Beautiful work on all of your projects ladies!!
I totally get your dilemma Helen. I have that with many things in my life--clothes, food, crafts, etc. When feeling exhausted or overwhelmed with something, I set the thing in triage and then make a decision a few days later. I tend to donate the thing when I am ready--posting to my town's listserv or bringing to a local thrift store. I feel like maybe finding it a new home would feel good. As you said, you may never finish it, and if the process is not something you are enjoying, then I say let it go. Hang a poster instead 🙂 I have a couple of friends that go to thrift stores to look for kits that are unfinished, and they finish them. (Saw recently that Arne does that too) Maybe it will move on to someone like them.
I’m so excited to see the Helen Stewart shawl, Marybeth, since I’m using the same yarn ❤️. It looks beautiful! Helen, I have an Aimee Stewart “Stitching Shelf” print on the bulletin board in my craft room. Saved myself approximately 47 years of stitching time 😂
Oh I really like how your open bar shawl is coming along . . . I'm thinking of "starting over" with my yarn for the Helen Stewart MKAL as I'm just not feeling my colors in the lace patterns ~ but they make work for this! Or I might start Cally Monster's Spiced pattern (my colors are a brown, varigated fall, and your NJ beaches, which by the way I so love knitting with your yarn; the other 2 are a bit splitty for some reason). Decisions, decisions!
I love the notebook type format of your new 'bags'. Do you notice how the Queen of Hearts looks like Effie in Hunger Games? I was surprised to see that you had a video today as I thought we would not hear from you til Friday. I do love that you have followed through on your crafting. The Tim Holtz book is also great for vacation memories. There was a shop here that used to have annual crafting weekends with guest instructors. We made similar notebooks one year. So much fun.
The Possum is available in the designers Instagram location. She's Katherine Kislova. I Love her patterns. Have most of them, some are free. Was an Awesome surprise seeing the Banjo Possum. It has a different name but it's him alright.
Wow! An hour with the Toads! Yea! I love your black out journal Helen! Do you have a photo printer? If so which one are you using? Great recommendations for apps too!
Book tracker will do e-books, you can search by title. Story Graph app is great for that you can choose all different kinds of editions - hardcover, paperback, audio, digital, etc.
I've become so addicted to the Cornell U bird I'd!! It's so fun. Seems like you've had a nice staycation. Glad you had a break.
Any time we hear birds we turn it on
Lovely to see all you’ve been doing, wonderful crafty ladies 👏🤩👏🤩🎉 xxx
Thank you.
Catching up with you is always excellent, but this episode is extra inspiring! Love you pals 💛
Now, we need to do it in person!!
I just found your channel and so far am so happy I did! You ladies are so creative and have so many great ideas!
Look at you two getting all organized!
You go girls! 😊
Organization is definitely Mary Beth’s wheel house but once I got all my paper pieces in that pouch it did feel really good.

Omg! I love your possum. Those books would be good knitting /crochet needle cases too I think.

Thanks so much Kimberly! We will add Clifford to the jar.
I'd like to second the Clifford movie.
Your hair looks especially nice today, Helen.
I’d suggest taking a picture of your epic cross-stitch project and then put it aside.
Thank you it’s that summer salt air

Thank you. I love your idea of the small stitching projects. What do you do with them when you are finished? Put them in the journal?
@@ToadHollowNJ Each page will be put in a page protector and then a 3 ring binder so I can add, subtract or change as I like
So many goodies ! Be still my heart
Thank you ☺️
So glad you’re back!
Thank you ☺️
Ohhh, so much info, loved it!!
Thank you ☺️

Thank you. Hopefully you can come to the next knit night. I am having so much fun with my journal. Animal boxes shipping at the end of this week.
Beautiful!!!

Thank you. I like fur, no scales but if your daughter loves them…
Great podcast
,
Thank you
I ordered some yarn after your last video. I was shocked it shipped during your staycation.
We are trying to keep up to date on the shipping
Skip the parade; love the possum. ❤️ I get it.
Thank you ☺️

The longer episode was a nice change of pace.
Thank you!

Helen, I have an Aimee Stewart “Stitching Shelf” print on the bulletin board in my craft room. Saved myself approximately 47 years of stitching time 😂
Part of my dilemma is with all my other crafts, what are the chances i finish in time to actually enjoy the finished product 🤣

That’s her! I love her stuff. We have two other patterns of hers (a badger and a bunny).
@@ToadHollowNJ Have you seen the frog?💜
@@janemctavish2666 yes! I have to finish the patterns we have before I can buy more 🤨
DUDLEYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!
😻
How fun are those notebook bags?
I really need to get back into cross stitching.
They are really great!
Wow! An hour with the Toads! Yea! I love your black out journal Helen! Do you have a photo printer? If so which one are you using? Great recommendations for apps too!
Oh thank you! We use the HP Sprocket mini printer. It prints 2x3 mini photos from your phone. We love it.
I love the booklet pouch! It would be a great needle organizer. Will you be making any to sell 😉
Thank you Tami. We are working through the kinks and should have a prototype for sale soon.
I have Book buddy for all my books. But it doesn’t do e books

WAIT! No: “Go forth and create”?!?!
Oh, I was sure I said it and then, as usual, we went off on a tangent before the official sign off.
