I have purchased their lathe, dust collector and table saw. I got rid of the lathe as it wasn’t sturdy enough and had too many issues. The dc and saw run fine. Sorry you had such a problem with their customer service. I enjoy your videos. Keep them coming
Definitely a must-see if considering buying one of these Grizzly sanders. Might be worth a follow-up video where you use explosives to finish it off? Or maybe your fan club has some disposal ideas? Takes up too much space if it doesn't work.
Hello sir, I need to get in contact with you. I have this sander, and I need to make a replica of the drive pulley that is in line with the drum sander. I need the dimensions of the pulley. The one I have, which came with the machine when I purchased, is a 1” bore x 3.5” diameter. Is this the stock pulley size? Any info helps! The pulley has been discontinued
I do not know off hand, but that seems like it is correct. I would be seriously surprised if Grizzly made the pully and did not buy something off the shelf. I would look to WW Grainger to see if you could match it up. I would also Google the owners manual. You should be able to find it. It should show the OEM pully.
So years ago I bought a Shop Fox Drill Press, what a turd, I was looking at a craftsman drum dander that looks just like your grizzly that needed a conveyor belt wonder if its the same. I am not a fan of this product line and your video kind of supports my feeling. thanks for the video. some times you don't save money by saving money.
Glad it is not just me. I seem to get this from manufacturers from time to time. I will be putting mine together Thursday. Just a quick question. What skf bearing did you use?
I am happy to put out the cautionary tale. I honestly can not remember the model number of the bearing, but it is a sealed bearing, and sealed on both sides. They did have some only sealed on one side.
I though you might be an electrician with that klein cell phone holder. I think it was Kim Tippin that had trouble with a grizzly lathe. She ended up sending it back, and got a laguna.
Thanks Allan! I am indeed an electrician...for 35 years. Although I have hung up the tools and taken a desk job. I should reach out to Kim Tippen and get her story. I am interested to see if it is similar to mine.
I am having issues with this same machine. The tension spring came off and I am going to have to try and replace it with a new one, provided under warranty, myself. I do not have high hopes. Whose AJ did you contact? I may have to go the same route.
So I live in North Carolina and that was the AG I contacted. I am not a fan of, either, Grizzly's quality control or customer service. Thanks for watching!
@@ffanddcondragh2911 I filed a formal complaint. It took them a few days to respond but it was clear when then talked to Grizzly because they responded back immediately.
I wish you luck on any equipment you get. Grizzly also changes up models pretty quick. If any parts are specific to a piece of equipment they have stopped making it can be problematic to get replacements.
The brand I bought was SKF. I do not off hand remember the part number. It should be in your parts breakdown in your manual. The have changed the machine so what was in mine will not necessarily be the same as your. Thanks for watching!

yea, a fool me once kind of thing. Thanks for watching. I plan on doing more reviews of tools that I have to break things up a bit.
25 years as a journeyman electrician 17 years with Loa Angeles Dept of Building and safety. Retired senior electrical inspector
sounds like we had a somewhat similar path.
So happy I seen this. Greatfull all I got from them is the caliper set.
Hey Dane! thanks for watching! All I can say is they appear to be a good deal for the money but did not have any luck with them.
I spent over $4000 for two machines from grizzly and I will never buy a grizzly product again
Well it sounds like your experience is very similar to mine. Thanks for watching.

Thank you sir. I have found the rest of the raw video and a follow-up of the full repair will be coming.

exactly Mike. It was a hard lesson to learn, but after my lathe debacle I bought a Laguna lathe. More money but I have not been disappointed.

@@BrailsfordWoodworks Thank you. I really hope I don't have to go that way. But I think it's going to be a complete return.
I just got a used one...seems to run well but it needs new belts and for some reason google isn’t helping me find what belts to get:/

I had good luck with my grizzly lathe but just don't care for grizzly that much
I fully understand.
