    Despite some of it’s flaws, PNSO has easily become my favorite scientific dinosaur model company. They check off on all the things I look for in a model line. The detail, accuracy, value and variety is great. Not cheap but I feel you get a bang for your buck and often the definitive version of a species. Also surprised to see you having the Livyatan ☺️

    • @Killershrewfan
      @Killershrewfan  2 года назад +1

      If there’s one prehistoric mammal I can honestly say I’m fascinated with, it’s Livyatan! I was so glad to see PNSO finally giving it its due but I do wish it had turned out a little better (looking at those seams!)

    Thanks for another great video!
    I agree with most of your choices, especially with the 3-way tie between Biber/Rook, Doyle and Harvey - it really does feel like PNSO capitalises on the supposed "prestige" of the Museum line to charge more, which isn't really fair because look at #3 and #1, whose quality is honestly up there with the Museum line figures.
    That being said though I must say I still love Biber, which I own, and am glad it's on the list anyway (:
    Am personally hoping for Suchomimus and Kentrosaurus figures, we haven't really seen good scientific figures for these species yet...

    I know you don’t collect the mammals that often but the new Rebor smilidon is a MASTERPIECE! I got the Ice Age version and it’s the best Smilodon. If you have any interest in the species I highly recommend it.

    To be completely frank, PNSO should take every single spot of any top scientific model list. There is simply nothing from any of the other companies on PNSO's level in terms of accuracy, naturalistic sculpting, and just sheer quality of paint.
    Doyle the Triceratops' jaw is not a flaw. That's how the latest research suggests ceratopsian jaws looked.

    The PNSO Iguanodon isn’t actually inaccurate, the skull is just based on an individual with a more slender head than usual as shown in one of their ‘making of’ videos. So the Mantellisaurus thing isn’t exactly true.

    This figure is really underrated but after looking up of some Alligator photos some being fat others having a hunched back chuanzi feels really good
    Not as a general reconstruction but...as chuanzi...it really represents one individual not every tarbosaurus has the same amount of fat and they got their differences in the head after all tyrannosaurids especially trex are well known for their extreme individual variation and tarbosaurus is closer related to trex than anything else

    Can someone explain how people can be excited about these safari figures compared to the higher end PNSO models (or Rebor, Namnu or BotM?) They look hideous in comparison, with really crappy paint jobs and low, simple detail designs. Like cheap kid toys. I've seen it on multiple channels, "beautiful Safari [dinosaur X] figure" and it always looks absolutely terrible. I just don't get it, am I missing something? Is this a nostalgia thing or something?

    • @Killershrewfan
      @Killershrewfan  2 года назад +4

      It’s about taking them for what they are. It’s true that compared to the likes of PNSO and the other companies you mentioned, Safari’s offerings do feel simplistic and childlike. That being said, out of all those companies, Safari puts the greatest emphasis on education, and do market themselves as being made for kids. As you can imagine, this means they put accuracy and affordability first, so the fact that you can buy (depending) several meticulously researched Safari figures for the same price as one PNSO, Nanmu, or REBOR offering doesn’t hurt. They might not be as intricately sculpted or painted but they are made for a different niche of the market and price bracket, so comparing them in black and white terms like “which figure is better sculpted and painted” can be a bit unfair. When I make reviews or top ten videos like this, I like to consider intention above all else. I won’t judge a Nanmu figure for being scientifically inaccurate when it’s clearly not trying to be. When it comes to safari, the question isn’t “is this the most realistic figure ever?”, it’s “did they uphold their commitment to accuracy, and is it a nice figure for (usually) less than twenty bucks?” And the answer is usually a resounding YES!

      Amen! I see this in the comments section on every PNSO review, someone who enjoys the Safari version better. I just can’t see how, PNSO is hands down the best model maker on the market.

      @@JohnSmith13146safari deserves to be celebrated for bringing accurate and affordable models to kids. That's why they're on here.
      That's being said, of anyone genuinely prefers safaris offerings to pnso than they're out of their mind 💀

      @JohnSmith13146 7 месяцев назад

      @@starbirds2464 agree 100% I’m not trashing Safari for their low purchase price (and subsequent low quality), just saying they aren’t even remotely in the same ballpark as PNSO, so it baffles me how serious collectors can put them in the same arena and say Safari is better.

      Well if people think that animals dont have individual differences, are just skin over bone and are copy pastes and the so different in shape trex skulls are not enough for them to prove it then no wonder why it gets so much hate

    • @starbirds2464

      The head is the worst part imo. It looks derpy and doesn't represent the beautiful animal as say prehistoric planet does. The body is fine animals often look a lil chunky
