  • The Two-Hearted River is in the eastern Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. The river runs approximately 23.6 miles through a forest wilderness and drains into Lake Superior. A rustic campground is located at the mouth of the river. A bridge takes the visitor across the river onto stunning landscapes of sand dunes, rocks, and sandy shorelines. Earnest Hemingway's account of Nick Adam's solitary fishing trip is actually about The Fox River. His short story told of The Two Hearted due to its poetry.
Enjoy this film of The Two Hearted and be sure to visit the great state of Michigan and all she offers,

You mentioned a lake near Petoski where Hemmingway spent time. It was Walloon Lake. Pretty sure remnants of it are still there or maybe preserved.

I live in northern lower Michigan. The UP is really cool. Except for the bugs and the huge mosquitoes.

If you're going to comment on something please get your facts straight. The duck lake fire was north of Newberry.

Used to deer hunt in that area. At that time it was very beautiful, but hid the fact that it was very wild and very dangerous. That was 30 years ago,I hope it's still the same.

Thank you for the comment. It is still remote and beautiful. The fire took out a large amount of trees but the natural growth of Mother Nature is returning the area back to what it was.

Its funny you mentioned the trees. I was up there 2 times last year and zero trees on shore. Went up this spring and trees everywhere. Way more than what is shown in this video. I want to know also where they came from. Also where some of them went. Headed back up there in 3 weeka love that campground. Great video.

What day were you there? I'm very surprised there are no people there on calm July day.

I don’t recall the day of the week although as much as I’ve been there over the years aside from the campers not to many people along the water. The beach does stretch so people are often spread out.

I knew a guy who would gather a pickup truck and trailer load of driftwood and drive to the east coast and down to Florida and sell the driftwood to artists of some sorts for their projects. He said they paid him well. Maybe that's what happened to some of the wood. I suppose that some is collected and used in the campfires of people camping nearby.
I also know a guy whose family roots are from the nearby town of Paradise. He claims over the years that ufo's have been seen entering and leaving from the surface of Lake Superior.
That sounds a bit odd for sure, but he swears he has seen such a thing occur, and this gentleman is quite normal (😵‍💫) in every respect. 👽🛸🪐

Thanks for comments. It’s a special place as is the entire Superior Loop. We were surprised the bugs were not as intense as years past. Love your channel by way.
