Place is a dump people wise. Too many loud off road rider types. Talked to a ranger in the district. He felt that people think that they are so far away they will do whatever they want. I had to shut up two drunk ass hats still partying at 3 am. Been there in the spring. Good. Would never go back in the summer
There are lots of places where some people feel far to intitled to do whatever they want whenever they want. Luckily for me, those times haven't been too frequent. I'd like to go back there again... just not early in the summer - flies and skeeters too powerful. lmao Fall and kids in school during the week seems PERFECT! lol all the best

The passport pass is a Michigan thing for state parks and forests. I think many other states do them as well. Michigan residents pay a small amount extra for it when they register vehicles. The rest of us have to buy them. They cost 39 bucks for the year, which is good because otherwise it is like $11 per day at those places. I bought mine this year at a state park and last year I bought it online and they mailed it to me in Ohio. Hope that helps.

I am pretty darn sure the directions I read in this video and the video prior will get you there but please please consider getting a map too. I would feel terrible if I somehow made a mistake in the directions and caused you any grief on what should be a fantastic trip. All the best and safe happy travels!

I'm heard it can but "usually" they say you can get in. It is really out there and an interesting drive to get there.
