I have just purchased the zx4 mk2 irons 5 to pw. Courses have been closed so not hit them yet. Impiulse buy when I visited the pro shop to look at Wilson irons. Sale item at £699 with graphite shafts and multi-compound grips. As usual with golf the next best thing is always just around the corner. Zxi4 looks like it will be an improvement on the previous model based on your review. I’ll just have to accept that I got a bargain because the new version was about to launch. Thank you Mark for all that you do in the RUclips golf world. Exceptional.
Hope you've been swinging on the range or sim while the courses have been closed. 5 years ago, i got fitted for a set of irons that were not right for me. Like you (possibly), due to weather, I don't play from October to March. I went in for a fitting (in February) after not swinging a club for 3-4 months because PXG had a huge sale going on. My swing was.... well.... very rusty... and was fitted for a "game improvement" iron set. When I started playing again regularly, I realized the set was not correct for my "real" swing. It's fun to start the golf season with new clubs..... but way better to be fitted for and playing with clubs appropriate for our game. Never again will I make that mistake again. Hopefully you did not make the same mistake I did.
❤ I love the Srixon clubs. I bought the Zxi5. I have Z565, 785 and Z forged mk 2 also 2 to 6 utility irons. I don’t sell them on-go in my Srixon collection
I was fitted last season for zx4 in the longer irons and zx5 both mk11 in the 8-pw, the best irons I’ve had in years, hopefully these new ones are a success
Mark great review and they look and sound terrific!! I know you share you game the ZX4, and wondered if you have that 6-PW??? Thank you for the content and also the “shorts” on swing tips! Find it very helpful!
I'm in the zx4's 5-PW for two seasons now, got them for a good deal. Bought them off the rack with graphite shafts. had to add a little lead tape to get the swing weight right. Really solid clubs. The 5 iron is so effortless. Previous set was some very old Clevelend CG4's. Major improvement between the two.
I have been using Zxi7’s 6-P with a Zxi4 5 iron since November, and they replaced my old Bridgestone CB 221’s. I also used a set of ZX5 Mk2’s up until the middle of last year. The ZXi7’s are just a cut above, even though the lofts are weaker than the ZX5, they both go pretty similar distances for me. But the feel on the ZXi7 is light years ahead of the ZX5 mk2. I’m a 20 handicap with a porous short game but lots of range time.
Been playing Srixon for years and find myself upgrading every 2 year cycle. This year will be my first blended set. ZXi5 4 and 5 iron and ZXi7 6-PW. I haven't played a 4 iron in years. Pure impulse and looking forward to gaming these. As for some of the comments regarding price, Srixon in my opinion offers the largest customization than any other brand. For that reason, they are very reasonably priced. Their shaft options is off the charts for minimal upcharge. I am a bit nervous playing blended, but seems to be the trend.
@@codydunagan6439 unfortunately i do not have them anymore .. went to paradym x 2 years ago. but when i had them i had them from brand new, they were standard off the shelf. once i started slinging them i went to have my lie angles checked and they said i was pretty standard from where i was hitting the lie angle tape and board. i turned them down 1/2 a deg flat and still didint help ..might have been the modus 105 shafts they had ,, who knows .. i even had lead tape on the toe of each iron which helped a little .. regardless a great iron .. and i will be getting the zxi5 prob with a tgi or pgi kbs shaft
Just ordered these here in Australia - 4-Pw cost $1575 AUD so roughly £800, best value clubs on the market. Now playing the waiting game for them to arrive
Gaming zx5 recoil 95 F4 , love them , played around with different clubs over the years callaway mizuno Wilson Taylormade ……. Always go back to Srixon .
As a fairly high handicap, the 4s definitely call out to me. But with the price tag along with my expectations to improve, I'd like to get fitted for a blended (4/5) set.
The Srixon irons still represent good value when compared to the big brands (Titleist, TM, Callaway). Still a top quality product. The latest Titleist irons go for $329 AUD per club, and the Srixons are $269 AUD per club. Across a set with wedges this is hundreds of dollars less. I’m keen to squeeze a few more years out of my 718 AP2s but a blended set of Srixons is high on my list to try. I’m thinking a 4 iron in the i4, 5-7 iron in the i5 and 8-PW in the i7. Love how seamless it is to blend all 3 models.
About a month ago, also in Australia, I got 4-AW (8 clubs) for $1,480. I don't see how the Zxi's would be any different other than some cosmetics. The MKII are already a great product.
i have the Srixon 785 at my sim at home and the ZX7mk2 in the bag. I think they will stay a bit longer there. but next time I would definetly blend in a ZX5 iron or two
Super happy with my Zx7/Zx5 MKII combo I currently play (custom PX IO Shafts) going to take an impressive difference between those as the new ones for me to spend $$$
I like this question of what would I choose. Hmm. I just like combo iron sets so for me PW-8 Zxi 7, 7&6 Zxi 5, then another 6 iron bomber like the Zxi 4. From there I'll stick to my Sirxon ZU85 utility 4 iron. That club is awesome!
As someone who played ZX7 last year (coming from MP221 blades the year prior) and was interested in the zxi7, the OFFSET continues to be a problem (my miss is overcooking a draw). The ZXi7 have more offset than the P7CB, P7MC, T100, Cobra King, Mizuno S-3, PING BP-S, Apex CB, etc... I weakened my zx7 mkII 1° mid-season last year to get some of that offset out of my visual - but they went higher than I would have preferred due to mass being extremely low in the head. I was hoping for two things with the ZXi series - MORE spin, and less offset. We got neither (and in fact there is more offset in the zxi7 6, 5, 4 than last year). Also, many reviews stating they launch higher than the last mkII model. This math doesn't work for me and I'm not changing shafts. Grrrr.
I’m a long time Srixon player, I’ve always said that Srixon irons was highly underrated for a very long time. The 7zx mark II is a great feeling iron. I’m looking forward to getting fit the end of the month for 5zxi and 7zxi. The 7zx II gap wedge (A) is a spin monster. Would the Z forged PW and 9 be a very high spin? 4zxi 5 5zxi 6 and 7 7zxi 8, 9, PW and A
Beautiful clubs, but I prefer the more sleek look on the back rather than lots of sharp angles. Just a personal preference, it wouldn't stop my from playing them.
I play the original zx7s , only irons i ever played they are what i got fitted for my 1st year of golf , im entering my 5th season of golf here in canada. For me to get a new iron they would have to be from out of this planet. The 7th round i ever played in my life i broke 80 at a city course from 6500yrds . I should be scratch or better come mid season here , irons are the best part of my game , i did change shafts from original fitting from accra graphite to oban steel 125s ..if i got new irons id probably just put them on my current shafts but to change my set up i have now anytime soon is highly unlikely.... i am 5i to pw ( im lefty) so i hope the made zxi7 made an A wedge for leffties , my 50 degree is a mizuno t22 as all my wedges are mizuno t22, my 4hb and 5w are original ZX , 3 wood is mizuno st titanium , driver is ping g430 max which might change need to lower spin
I have the Srixon ZX5 5-W, and a ZX utility 4 iron, got a fitting next week will be interested to see any advantage, may be a case of adding a ZXi4 4 iron ?
I was told that the new ZXi irons have wider soles across the board for all three models compared to the ZX mkii irons. Can you confirm that this is the case? The dimension charts even show that the new ZXi7 has a wider sole (18.9mm for 7i) than the ZX5 mkii (17.6mm for 7i). This seems odd to me so hopefully you can shed some light on this.
Currently gaming the Callaway AI300 and not all together unhappy but looking for softer and little more consistency. Curious how ZXI compares in forgiveness. 8 handicap. Considering a ZXI4/5 combo but not sure where to blend considering the loft differences
Pretty sure I've read that the top line of the ZXi4 isn't thicker than the others, it just has slightly more offset and longer blade length, the idea being that the top line is the same across all three clubs so they blend very easily
I was fitted into the Mark II’s just as they ran out of stock, so am waiting for these to be available to buy. I’m going z-forged in the PW-8iron, zxi7 in the 7-5iron, and zxi5 in the 4 iron. PW @ 46*, then 4* gapping. I found the zx5 launched slightly higher and spun slightly more than the zx7 (with matched lofts), hence the 4i in the zx5 (to squeeze an extra couple of yards). Do you think the zxi’s are the same in this regard?
17 degrees launch angel with a 7 iron is that normal? For what launch angel should I look for? Are you playing with launch abgke? Maynbe something for a separate video?
What’s the reason of staying with the power batty club mark I thought you’d use that kind for a year as an experiment. Then go back to the ZX5 kind of club or blend ZX5 and ZX4
ZXi7 + ZXi5 combo. Not a fan of the hollow body irons. I still have my old Z785 + 585 combo. Maybe it's the time to change now, as I wasn't a fan of the thick topline of the mk2:s.

Srixon make very nice clubs, but why would anyone pay a premium for the game improvement lines when the Cleveland stablemate provides the same technology? Different story for the better player clubs.
Probably as long as Titleist, Ping, Callaway, and Mizuno control most of the popular iron share. Srixon will still be underrated. I personally went budget before getting a gifted pro fitting. Loved the ZX5 so much. I almost bought those as well. But I chose to stick with my gamers for now. On the advice of the fitter. Now that the new ZXi5's are out. Things might change.
False. Srixon was underated a few years ago when their pricing was friendly but now theyre ridiculously expensive so they arent overrated anymore theyre just like all the other OEMs

Now they're the same price as every other major OEM. Which means they aren't underrated anymore they're just like everybody else. Can't believe I have to explain that to you again
No matter how good they are, until Srixon commits to fitting events at golf courses around the country (at least for the US) they are going to remain a niche brand.

They are for sale online a lot of places for 100 pound cheaper but good luck with them
still playing the first gen ZX5 and i love the feel sound and playabillity
Came to say the same thing. Had mine 3 years now and have no plans to change them until they die!
I got fit for the zxi5 in December and I couldn’t be happier
Just bought ZXi5 , beautiful club , love hitting sound
Finally a review on these!!!
More of an infomercial
I love the channel, this is the first your channel has popped up in a bit!! Appreciate all your vids.
And I love my Srixon irons.
Just ordered the ZXI 4 can’t wait to get them lovely looking and quite easy to hit 👍
Just bought the Zxi4's from Clubhouse golf. 8 Iron set.😀 Pick up in 2 weeks just in time for trip to Belek.
I love my ZX5 mkii irons, had them for two years and they have been a revelation for my game. I will try the ZXi 5 irons to see how they compare.
Have the zx7's from 2 gens ago. Incredible irons. Playing titleist 620 cbs now. Wanted traditional lofts
I will have to give these a test

Srixon never disappoint, always a classy look. I use hollow body irons but would probably give the 5's a go if I were to switch out my PXG's.

5,6,7 in ZXi4 and 8,9,P and W in the ZXi5. Plus 3 other wedges.
On my second set ZX5 (original) and I can’t imagine thee new ones being my better than the Endo Forged, V-soled cult classics!

The 1st gens feel way better than the mk11
I game the MKii ZX5's. If i were to change anything, it would be a blended set of 7's and 5's. Love these irons though.
