Many thanks, watched video. Bought battery, watched video, then with my fumble fingers I changed the battery in under 30 minute including checks. Without your video I would not have known where to start. I have given my X555L a new lease of life.

Hello, be careful when you open it. The keyboard foil is connected to the computer center with two small, delicate cables. The plug connections on these cables are delicate and not very stable. These cables are dimensioned so that they can only accommodate an opening of about 45 degrees between the keyboard foil and the computer board. If you open it more than 45 degrees without thinking, it can happen (like it did to me) that the cables suddenly slip out of their slots and you have to puzzle and fumble to put everything back together correctly. I think that's a bit unreasonable for changing a battery.

I was just wondering what kinda charger you use for this laptop? im trying to repair mine aswell as its not powering on so i ordered a new battery and looking into getting another charger but unable to find the one that came with it and just want to make sure i do have the correct voltages for it..

Doesn't that computer have a CMOS battery?
My friend followed your instructions to the letter and everything went well. The new battery was installed and charged but now the keyboard won’t function so something I think must have got dislodged but we have no idea what. Maureen 6.05 pm February 16 2024
