I can completely agree with you. I played it when I around 6 years and was only able to beat this stage once in my life....it took me one whole year 😅. I just love this game and I'm glad I'm not the only one🤗👍🏼
I just beat it and fell off it twice, stayed on top once. idk how, but it happened. I did well for the rest of the track with no wrecking, so that'd probably do it
I love how the game in general is just so unapologetically difficult. It plays exactly how I feel a real pod race would be like, insanely fast and extremely fatal
Weird... I find this game to be easy, at least in regards to beating the AI. Then again I play the PC version which runs and controls more smoothly than the N64 version. What I find difficult, though, is pushing the limits of how freakin' fast you can get around a track. Once you're up to full upgrades you can beat the AI without even boosting once you get the hang of things, just play things safe and keep your speed up whenever possible. But when you're cutting as close to the inside of each corner as possible, boosting at the most optimal points and holding that boost for as long as possible, while simultaneously threading the needle between obstacles... that's when this game becomes truly hard, and when the sense of speed is at its peak.
@@VestedUTuber The game is easy. I remember playing this game as a kid and having problems with this sky planet. I did not beat it as a kid (when I rented it). @@gundamzerostrike At one point I actually got curious about why the AI is so bad and decided to sandbag in order to observe it, turns out that at the start of the race they tend to bunch up off the starting grid and that really slows all of them down until they unbunch, which can take a good 30 seconds in some cases (like on Baroo Coast, Grabvine Gateway and Fire Mountain Rally). This is on top of their already typically slow pace, though I have had situations where if I ran faster than a certain time the AI would somehow finish within a couple seconds of me even though they were nowhere to be seen on the radar, but if I were to have finished only a couple seconds slower they'd be as far back as a minute behind. Honestly, the AI is really weird in this game. It seems like they had to compensate for people playing with different upgrade configurations and ended up going a bit too far in the opposite direction. @@AxelOwnz That's the hardest part. As you saw in my video I fell down once but I still made it. If your pod is fast enough you can fall down but not in the first lap. Then it's game over
@@jamie_michelson Eh, you can fall down in the first lap and still win, you just need to stay up 2/3 times really (though if you fall down in the first you might as well restart to save time as it's right at the beginning).

Damn, when I was a kid I could only beat this once or twice but I recently played it (11 years later) and easily beat it on the second try. Also, I had kept the notion that there was no way to do a comeback from hitting the bottom route. Badass.
I never made it as a kid tbh and nowadays this track became way easier. I guess because of my age and the controls being better in this new version. Furthermor it is possible to make a comeback even with non-upgraded pods. You just have to be quick as f*** otherwise you won´t catch 1st 😂
Got this on my pc recently and I managed to win this on the first attempt because recalling the horrors of falling to the bottom track, I applied my brakes heavily and managed to stay on the top track for all 3 laps. Yet I still barely won 1st place because of the crash glitch at 4:04. What happened was I fell to the bottom and crashed when I slammed into the wall, then spawned on top of the glitch spot immobile and unable to move. Seconds later I spontaneously exploded despite not moving an inch. After respawning from the spontaneous combustion, I was able to move again and had to regain the lead because my double death dropped me somewhere between 3rd and 5th place
Oh yeah, I know that problem too well. Cost me some races and yeah it´s a old game. Glitches are kinda common but of course it would have been nice if they had fixed some of the glitches in the game
Seeing that it IS possible to reclaim the 1st place spot after falling off the top gives me the incentive to boot up the game & try it again! The only racer that I came close to finishing this race with when it first came out was Bullseye, but I still ended up in 4th place.
When I was a kid I got stuck here and could never progress. It wasn't until I re-installed the game in my 20s on a nostalgia kick that I finally got to see the end levels
20 years ago on N64, my friends and I used to call this race, "Hell in the clouds". Playing it again on Xbox One now, it's much easier than I remember. That late stage jungle one though.... horrific.

Hands down the most broken and frustrating stage in the game. I gave up trying as a kid, because I couldn’t for the life of me stay on the top track. I only won by using cheat codes to drop all of the opponent racers speeds to 100, so even if I fell down to the bottom, I could still win. Fast forward to 2015. After 3 hrs of resetting the level, screaming and cussing every time I fell down to the second level on the last lap, and nearly giving up a few times, I managed to beat it legitimately, without cheating. Still to this day one of my proudest accomplishments as a gamer, second only to beating Rascal on the PS1 after 13 years. 😁
This track gave me such a headache when I was a kid. I played it over and over, and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, why I kept coming next to last before I figured out you had to take the top track to even stand a chance.
The only way I could beat this track was to build up Bullseye Navior a bit and get his stats up. His smaller pod helped me to not fall off as easily and take my time with staying on the upper path. I eventually just completed it perfectly.
I uh... skipped this track by using Guo's big engines to slide from the halfway corner to the end side (and apparently falling from the arena just right also counts as a new lap??) Will need to revert my upgrades after boonta classic so I can see if I can truly do this without upgrades 🤔
I literally did this one today and was in first on my 4th try. Unfortunately, for some reason my podracer decided to blow up right near the end of the 3rd lap. I came in 3rd 😥 Damn, your pod is fast!!! Lmao I'd never pull that off! Edit: I main Mars Guo and I still sometimes have problems with those HUGE ENGINES. He almost doesn't fit in the courses sometimes.
I tried this map with Mars Hip without any upgrades. Was hard but I made it coming first. 😅 I can only recommend using smaller pods like Anakins or bullseye like Jonathan M recommended
@@Hell-yeah420.69 bullseye navuar mains woo, but in all seriousness having lots of stats doesn't mean it's actually good for a map. The massive amount of turning and lack of traction can be brutal for trying to be super careful at the beginning.

I´ve played on the ps4, same shit... but than i thought "okay... the track is an asshole... so, i too!" and i used cheats, only for this track. I was in shame, but... fuck off! after 20 years that´s okay for me^^
This track really wasn't that bad on PS4. On PC it was difficult trying to steer with the keys. The N64 had bad framerates that made judging the corners very difficult. Analog steering and framerate as smooth as butter made this track significantly easier on PS4
Funny how I still get a little nervous when I hear that soundtrack even after 20 years; this circuit had me by the balls back in the day. I even remember the sense of anticlimax after finishing the final race in the game. Beating Sebulba was so much easier than whatever the fuck was going on on this track.
I have to admit that I didn´t make Anakin´s track first try, well I can´t remember so. That one is very hard too, especially with a pod that doesn´t turn well but with good upgrades you should be able to make it 🤗
I’d love to have piano tutorials for all the Star Wars racer soundtracks except executioner and all ovoo iv levels and the inferno in baroonda as you could modify the popular piano tutorial of the duel of the fates

If I remember correctly you need to press and hold the left stick forward and the moment you get a yellow dot on the right in your speedometer, press or press and hold X (Don't know what worked) Hope I could help
the ps4 port is so broken to the point that not only did they revert the post-release racer sounds (other pods) alongside using n64 sounds for the player, but they also somehow fucked up the player engine exhausts? even with them only needing to forward port the pc port onto last gen consoles and they instead complicated everything? what the fuck?

After 3 hrs of resetting the level, screaming and cussing every time I fell down to the second level on the last lap, and nearly giving up a few times, I managed to beat it legitimately, without cheating. Still to this day one of my proudest accomplishments as a gamer, second only to beating Rascal on the PS1 after 13 years. 😁
Du hast es mit Bravour geschafft!
Gut gemacht!
Vielen Dank :-D
Merci! thanks to your video I was able to win this race.
GG Nice! Love to hear you made it 😎👍
OH MY GODDDDD THE FUCKING NOSTALGIA
Genius in action.
Thank you very much 🤗
Ladies, gentlemen and friends beyond the binary. As your announcer I give you Greg Proops of Whose Line is it Anyway fame.
This track gave me such a headache when I was a kid. I played it over and over, and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, why I kept coming next to last before I figured out you had to take the top track to even stand a chance.
Glad to see everyone’s mutual childhood trauma with this track lol
The only way I could beat this track was to build up Bullseye Navior a bit and get his stats up. His smaller pod helped me to not fall off as easily and take my time with staying on the upper path. I eventually just completed it perfectly.
First , this dude takes those turns like a chad. Second, there is a left secret part to the thin shortcut?!
Yes, yes there is a shortcut there on the left 😊
The most broken track in the game more like
Maybe it is but nowadays it's a bit easier
Quick question, does gliding up from before the jump down to the arenaside back up into the fast lane count as a skip?
this star wars themed racing game feels like an arcade racer.
That track it's tough, even for me
I uh... skipped this track by using Guo's big engines to slide from the halfway corner to the end side (and apparently falling from the arena just right also counts as a new lap??)
Will need to revert my upgrades after boonta classic so I can see if I can truly do this without upgrades 🤔
That is more crazy then trackmania
I literally did this one today and was in first on my 4th try. Unfortunately, for some reason my podracer decided to blow up right near the end of the 3rd lap. I came in 3rd 😥
Damn, your pod is fast!!! Lmao I'd never pull that off!
Edit: I main Mars Guo and I still sometimes have problems with those HUGE ENGINES. He almost doesn't fit in the courses sometimes.
Use bulleye navuar small engine and best stats in game
I main Mars too!
I tried this map with Mars Hip without any upgrades. Was hard but I made it coming first. 😅
I can only recommend using smaller pods like Anakins or bullseye like Jonathan M recommended
@@Hell-yeah420.69 bullseye navuar mains woo, but in all seriousness having lots of stats doesn't mean it's actually good for a map. The massive amount of turning and lack of traction can be brutal for trying to be super careful at the beginning.
@@link3hyrule Neva Kee for me. Great steering, and a very long boost with quick cooldown.
This track gave me an appreciation for having a very high traction rating just to stay on the high road lol
that first sharp turn is impossible on the n64 version
something to note here is if you have upgrades and you constantly break your rid your upgrades will diminish over time
Didn't know about that. Thank you for the information 👌🏼
Anytime the only reason i found out lol os cuz i die alot and thats cuz my other comment when i mentioned how i used niva kee i had a ton of speed and any extras were to help him with repaiers and such breaks too but when i started to realize that issue and why i was suddenly not as fast as i used to be was do to me constantly crashing and dieing mid course im sure you can guess where xD totaly not intentional but yeah went from 700s in speed to 500s which niva is around 600s when you first unlock him hes not a bad pick imo
@@munchielitten5961 Yeah, Neva Kee is a flipping beast, even without any upgrades. Has some crazy handling and traction stats 😅
When I played this game I just tried my best to not crash as in the reality of Star Wars, you don´t want to crash your pod or you´ll just die or get wounded pretty bad 😂
The constant 60 fps makes a huge difference on this game
I hated this track!!! As a kid i was so pissed off. i had the fastes pod in the game, got first place, fall off the main track and the race was over! I´ve played on the ps4, same shit... but than i thought "okay... the track is an asshole... so, i too!" and i used cheats, only for this track. I was in shame, but... fuck off! after 20 years that´s okay for me^^
Haha, atleast you´ve managed to beat the track 😂💪
protip , just BRAKE on the upper floor and play it slowly
Yeah, I know. But as a diehard racer, I love to use the break as little as possible 😅
Does anyone know the name of this song it’s always eluding me and I can’t find it anywhere
This track really wasn't that bad on PS4.
On PC it was difficult trying to steer with the keys. The N64 had bad framerates that made judging the corners very difficult.
Analog steering and framerate as smooth as butter made this track significantly easier on PS4
The Dreamcast was easy I was able to succeed that compared to pc
I can agree with you on that. Felt definitely easier than on the Dreamcast but to be honest: I still was a small kid back in those days 🙄
This fucking track bro....
Probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with in a game...
Man I never got a chance to play this game but it looks hella fun
It really is fun man. If you have a PS, you can buy it from the store ;-)
Years….. decades even….. I didn’t know you had to pull up to make the jumps on the upper level. I finally beat it after 20 years…..
Atleast you made it now. Congrats 💪
This vs. Cosmo Terminal: Trident from F-Zero GX?
Which is the hardest?
I would always be in last place.... 20 years later... I won first place... I cried inside so my 9 year old self can finally rest
Funny how I still get a little nervous when I hear that soundtrack even after 20 years; this circuit had me by the balls back in the day. I even remember the sense of anticlimax after finishing the final race in the game. Beating Sebulba was so much easier than whatever the fuck was going on on this track.
I hate this track so much, but Anakin's is even worse for me. There's just too much going on, I can't tell where I'm going half the time.
I have to admit that I didn´t make Anakin´s track first try, well I can´t remember so. That one is very hard too, especially with a pod that doesn´t turn well but with good upgrades you should be able to make it 🤗
@@jamie_michelson niva kee is good in most tracks when it comes to cornering
I’ve got to be honest. I only beat this level once in 2005. It took my 3 months to beat and haven’t come close since.
And the final level and race
Is there some game like this or like wipe out in xbox 360 ?
I did this after about 6 tries but I really had to get the right mix of top speed and turning to pull this off. It was not easy.
The next-hardest tracks were Grabvine Gateway and Fire Mountain Rally (at least for me)...
Now do it without hitting any walls. lol that would be so hard! You are epic at this game! 💪💪💪
Thx dude 🤗
I'll give it a try when I have the time 😅👌🏼
Omg this damned track
I have it for n64
How the hell you turning so good, mine sucks even if I max out the upgrade.
Which pod did you use? Every pod still has different stats, even when maxed out, Ebe Endecott being one of the best when it comes to handling
It's mandatory to boost across the finish line especially on the last lap 😅😅😅😂 gotta make sure nobody tries to speed up and get in front of you lol
Indeed. It's a necessary safety measure 😂
You're really good
Thank you man 🤗👍
I swear these happen everytime you're on 1st place and final lap! 4:03 LuL like the game trying to cheese you.....
I’d love to have piano tutorials for all the Star Wars racer soundtracks except executioner and all ovoo iv levels and the inferno in baroonda as you could modify the popular piano tutorial of the duel of the fates
Yeah, would be cool but I can't play the piano so sadly I won't be able to make such videos. Perhaps someone else out there can do those piano tutorials 😊👍🏼
@@jamie_michelson true!
how do you use the boost this game?
If I remember correctly you need to press and hold the left stick forward and the moment you get a yellow dot on the right in your speedometer, press or press and hold X (Don't know what worked)
Hope I could help
@@jamie_michelson thanks, i great
the ps4 port is so broken to the point that not only did they revert the post-release racer sounds (other pods) alongside using n64 sounds for the player, but they also somehow fucked up the player engine exhausts? even with them only needing to forward port the pc port onto last gen consoles and they instead complicated everything?
what the fuck?
it took me 3 minutes to realize the text was in german.
I actually found the track before this the hardest the big version of the first track in the last sets I'm pretty sure before this (this is last stage ??) I struggled with that one bad !! !! Lol you can't skip credits tho not too say this one wasn't a pain having to go so slow I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong at first then I noticed don't fall of at the start !! (THE BOONTA CLASSIC)
The trick is to stay on the top floor and it’s easy due to being a shortcut
Yep, that way it's almost always a safe win. Only problem is: Do it too slow and you won't win which is the reason why I still try to push hard on that section 😊
Three words. Fuck. This. Track!
Replaying this game for the first time in years and there’s a reason why I stopped playing it as a kid; this garbage track.
It’s so broken, it’s actually hilarious.
Haha, yes. Still has some bugs where it makes you go through the floor down to the second floor. That one is nasty as hell 😅
Go slow on highroad
Took me 4 years to beat this track
Congrats on beating it tho 😎😉
Das is purer Stress 😂
I don't even remember HOW I won this, I somehow beat this as a kid and for the life of me I CAN'T win it today as an adult.
Any other gasgano mains out there?
Oh I really love Gasgano! I should use him more often in the game 😅
@@jamie_michelson yeah he’s cool! I had to use someone else to win this track though, Gasgano just couldn’t make the corners.
