Wow, both the horn and Q siren sound badass. Great video!
YUP AND THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
wow this whole time i thought it was the driver controlling them!
YUP! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Giles Bonner some trucks have them on the drivers side as well.
And me 😅😥
The Engineer as the are actually called can control them but so can the captain sat to the right of the engineers
Nope its the guy in the front right seat for the most part. Now the driver had a 2nd set on his side or a switch on the board to make the regular horn button on the steering wheel to switch from air horn to federal Q siren
hahaha, brings back memories from when I was as kid and my dad would bring home his cop car and let me turn on the lights and siren. 😀👍
+theGovnr1 SUPER COOL THEN! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
+Brandon Danuffsky WOW! I HOPE YOU DIDN'T GET LOCKED UP! JKJKJK! HEHEHE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND BRANDON! ;o)
Been there lol
Ahh :) this reminds me of the first time I got to use "the pedals". It was at a parade/charity collection event. It is super fun everyone should be able to do it at least once lol. Nice video!
COOL! ;o)
Nice video. I like how the airhorn and Q siren controllers are foot pedals so the driver can keep eyes on the road. Sound great together and they clear traffic effectively.
+Peter J Maida YES, BUT THEY ARE ON THE OFFICERS SIDE FLOOR BOARD THOUGH! THE DRIVERS HAVE THE CAPABILITIES IN THE STEERING WHEEL AS WELL! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Thank you for that info. Love your videos. Keep them coming!
+Peter J Maida YOUR WELCOME AND THANK YOU PETER! ;o)
I want a turn too!
+Lynn Moore I'm next, hahaha
+Cienfuegos C 😖
+Lynn Moore HEHEHE! GO TO YOUR LOCAL STATION! THEY WILL DO IT FOR YOU! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)

+Lynn Moore ;o)
A great video, John!
+LucianVideoEEV THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Wow, Heavy Q-siren, Its badass
love the q siren!
ME TOO SHERMAN! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Nice, an actual mechanical Q siren with no "brake" pedal. What happened to the button when you tried to press it a few more times and it didn't wind up at all?
+Blaine Bugaski The Q stopped working, the response video where L-15 and E-71 went out, they tried using the Q but it wouldn't work.
+James Lawton OMFG, your alive on RUclips?!?
+uilleannpipes gaming Uhh, yeah, I just don't post videos anymore.
+Blaine Bugaski IT WOULD NOT STOP OR RESTART! HEHEHE! IT WAS COOL THO.... THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND BLAINE! ;o)
You must have broke it!
When I hear that federal Q makes me *CRAZY*
Good one John! I was a FF for 15 yrs, sure miss it.
My inner 5 year old is greatly satisfied
VERY COOL! HEHEHE! THANKS SO MUCH.....
- Haha... I have that siren sound set as a ringtone for when son calls my phone because every time he calls me it's for some kind of emergency.
HAHA.....VERY COOL.....
Makes me remember my ten years on Oregon fire department in Wisconsin. Engine-3 had foot pedals
INTERESTING INDEED! THANKS SO MUCH.....
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH! I wanna be a firefighter!! Thank you !!
COOL! ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS! ;o)
What still drives me a crazy is that the Philadelphia Fire Department is the only major fire department that will not use a secondary electronic siren so that the Q siren doesn’t wear out. I don’t understand why. Every city in the country that uses a Q siren has an electronic siren. But not Philadelphia.
IDK EITHER. THX.....
its different everywhere, pretty sure its just a perferance.
Denver Fire Department doesn’t either.
Old school baby. Big city everyone moves when its used why do more than you dont have to.
A W E S O M E
I’d be perfect for that music to my ears
COOL.....
Imagine the people were just sleeping 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
OK.
wow, here in Europe You just with a button and You have the siren on but in America is so different.. Great video btw
YUP! THANKS! ;o)
laurentiu octavian we also have siren boxes and they have other sirens but this is just so you can quickly hit the horn or siren with your foot so the driver doesn't need to do it.
It's like that in the Americas, too. Electronic sirens are always made to be controlled from some console with buttons or switches on it.
The difference here is that the pedals operate the air horns and electromechanical siren (look up "Q2B siren" for the latter), both of which are things you want to operate on an active-usage basis instead of toggling on/off like an electronic siren.
My best guess as to why they're operated by pedals and not dash-mounted buttons is because both the air horns and the electromechanical siren are installed in and/or on the front bumper; having their switches on the floor closer to them would be preferable in this case, and pedals are switches operated with feet, so...
1230james where the devices are mounted has nothing to do with the footswitch on the floor or momentary buttons on the console.
wish our fire engines in the UK had sirens like this then traffic would really move out the way!
Now with these new trucks you have to have the truck in drive parking brake off and master emergency lights on
OH INTERESTING INDEED! THANKS SO MUCH.....
Old q and air horn love it! 🚒👩🚒🚨
YUP AND THANKS SO MUCH.....
that how RESCUE 1 sound like good to good to know
WELL, THIS WAS IN PHILADELPHIA! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Anytime
Peter Mcnany Electronic sirens don't pierce vehicles that well and they're nowhere near as loud as electromechanical sirens
I've remembered that they used to put the siren pedal and air horn pedal on the driver's side way back in the 90's (the one that I seen from "There Goes A Fire Truck).
COOL! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
I got shots of a brand new rig and they still do that.
Great Q
INDEED! THANKS SO MUCH AREN.....
Dammmm that engine is fire! How do they let people test the trucks? Is it at a special event? Or like can you just walk up and ask? I’m curious ;0)
Looks like someone dropped a pen on the floor and it's wedged between the foot switch and the fender! Or is this on purpose?
PROBABLY ACCIDENTAL! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
My life has forever changed, I thought the only way you could control it was from the control panel thing, O.O GG
HAHAHAHAHA! YOUR FUNNY! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Oh nice 👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Thx for the video sir
THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Anyone know what model air horn this truck has?
I DON'T. SORRY.

Thank you so much
+ismaeel mansoor ;o)
Do they not use Whelen on the engines and ladder?
I'm glad fire trucks still use mechanical sirens, as police don't use them anymore
COOL.....
Very cool!
+Truggins THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)

I thought the Siren was keyed into the Gas pedal...
NOPE......
What kinda air horn dose it have? I'm looking to put horns in my truck and want to it to sound like a fire truck

+Boss and Doobs YUP! HEHEHE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 Why do you have caps lock on all the time? Why do you yell so much? You realize you can still get your point across without using caps lock so much right?
What company makes the airhorn
I AM NOT SURE BUT ONE IS CALLED GROOVER....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Anyone know what kind of airhorn that is? I've been trying to find out for 3 days and no luck.
NO, SORRY......
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 ah ok. appreciate the reply
That horn could be a Grover 1510 stuttertone or a wolo 846 the chief horn. These horns are originally designed for fire trucks but be careful not to blow it like a fire fighter, or else you will get in trouble.
Fun fact: you can tune the air horns
@@Jesus-pg6gq ok thanks for the info. Didnt know it could be those horns. Ive looked into them before and didnt think it was it But I will check again
Gonna visit Engine 79, Ladder 37, and Battalion 27 on March, 3/8/20th!
COOL.....
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 It's in New York, Bronx, if you know.
Where do you bay this
WHAT?
I'm in philadelphia, would love to see the truck.
COOL! GO CHECK ONE OUT! THANKS VERY MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
