I just found one of these at the scrapyard the other day got it unstuck and cleaned up. I can't find the name or model number anywhere on it but later today gonna throw the power to it and let it scream. I'd like to hook a 12amp vacuum motor to it see how that works out.
I mean, even the old series Q's have one's that will lose their coast. Mostly because of dirt build up over time within the clutch. But more so than less so, the earlier series Q's were obviously better sounding and performing sirens versus today's units. None of the parts are the same as 30 and 50 years ago...component-wise ,speaking of a Q. And the price is ridiculous for a new Q today. Let alone, individual parts pricing.
Yes 14 . Not too many Q's ever sounded the same. Them jawns aren't all cut and tuned the same. some jawns have 2 drill bit marks, some have 20, on the chopper rotor. I've been telling jawns for years ,that there is beyond obvious sounds in Q's..especially an 80's versus a 2000's model.

Old school Q siren. Slow to wind down. Unlike the crap heard on some apparatus.
