Sadness with Tracks and MC-101

- So the weekend challenge this week was for a happy sad track.
'You can choose either a happy (positive sounding) key signature and drown it with sadness, or choose a sad (negatively sounding) key signature and inject it with happiness.'
So I picked Fmajor as my key of choice, and carefully chose some pads and a melody which injected a bit of Dminor into it.
Music theory is not my Forte, but I am learning.

Very deep bass, so much dub in this one.
The bass is from a patch I made for the Tracks. I reckon I could have boosted it a touch. Need to work on my balancing of elements.

Thanks, I tried to get the change in mood just through the music theory, sound as well, but the theory was what I was messing with.

Really great. 8/10 from me. A super heavy dub bass line would have pushed it over the top.
Wow cheers Steve. As an actual musician scoring me I can live with that. The bass line should have been a bit heavier and I really should have done another take with a better balance (and maybe some tidier drums) but I just haven't had the time.
i noticed you havent done anything with the model samples in awhile. is this setup easier to jam with, lately ive been immersed in the MS because it feels like its made for experimental idm and after you get to know it its amazing. the cons seem to be it doesnt play well with others.
Unfortunately, my Model:Samples is at the Samples Doctor. It broke and it's been back a few times and they haven't been able to fix it. I hope to be getting a replacement soon because I miss it, and I actually think it will play really nicely with the MC-101.
Watch this space, because it really is I think my favourite creative toy.
if the button tore off you can take out the button membrane panel and apply some jb weld or window seal, ill have to look into that, i have a crave as well but havent bought a midi splitter yet but these new behringer under 100$ boxes look really awesome to use as sources.
@@grad13nt1 Yeah the Samples is just turning itself off at random so I have no idea what's going on there.
I have an idea for another Crave video, but ATM I am working on a Tracks thing. Life means the half arsed non jam videos take a bit more time.
The Behringer boxes look very interesting but I think half the challenge there is persuading Mrs Bolus that I need more bleepy sound makers!!!!!
@@DocBolus oh ok the fix is use a battery pack you can buy or make a usb A to 9volt cord, and it won't power off, had the same problem but using the battery port fixed the random shutdowns but yea just a power bank eventually i plan on making spacer for the enclosure so its possible to mount the battery internally and maybe a few extra features. i glued the the battery to the side of mine and with a short enough 90° angle cord you can be rough with it and itll stay on.
I have tried it with the power bank socket but that doesn't make a difference.
Just got an email saying they got it back again, this is the third time it has been in for the same issue so hopefully something will be sorted and it will be back up and running. Really missed it for the weekend jam this weekend. It is my go to box for sound design with samples.
