      Glad you found them useful. This is an amazing little box. A touch of delay and reverb and it doesn't get much better.

    What a great video, and let me say, the series of videos dedicated to the Micro Modular are just spetacular and for me was a game changer on my approach to the MM sound design. If you have the time and the patient can please ask for a video dedicated only to the "audio in" and the audio effects modules on the MM. Keep up your excelent work..best

      Thanks, appreciated. Glad that you got something out of it. I am busy IRL and will be for a while, but if I can squeeze a video about the audio in and the fun you can have with it I will.

    This video has been extremely helpful! Thanks! However, I keep getting popup messages anytime I try to run the editor with the Micro Modular connected. They say stuff like "lost contact" and "out of memory." Any tips?

    • @DocBolus
      @DocBolus  4 месяца назад +1

      It might just be a loose connection on the MIDI or some kind of MIDI configuration issue. You need to make sure that the editor is using the MIDI interface that the modular is connected to.
      Out of memory could be that you are putting too many modules into a patch. Remember it has a limited DSP load?
      Hope that helps a little.

    Awesome video and thanks for making it, I may pick one up but have 3 Quick questions;
    1. Once you are done setting up a patch and saved it, can you disconnect it from the PC and bring the Micro Modular to another studio or to a live gig, or does it always have the connected to a computer to work?
    2. How many patches can you save on the unit ?
    3. If you don’t max out DSP, is it miltitambrial?
    Thanks again!

      @DocBolus  6 месяцев назад

      No worries, glad you found it helpful...
      1) You can save patches to the Micro Modular and then take them where you like. They will be in the machine so once you plug in a midi device and call up the patch you can use it.
      2) You can save 100 patches on the unit, but they can be swapped with patches saved to your PC anytime.
      3) It's not really multitimbral in that you can't play more than one patch at a time. You can however create patches which are multi layered with percussion, bass and lead lines all played on the same patch (though not via separate midi channels)
      Happy to answer any questions..

      @@DocBolus Ah good to know! Thanks for the swift response. Only saw it now. Do you know if there is a way to still run the modular software on a modern mac?

      @@RecMirage Honestly I can't tell you but I do run it through wine on a linux system so I guess a MAC windows emulator would do the job.

    do you need to plug audio out into an amp to hear it? or can you hear it on the computer

      Yes to the amp.

    • @DocBolus
      @DocBolus  2 года назад

      Yep as stated, the audio needs to go through an amp or mixer, though there is a headphone jack.

    Hey Doc,
    unfortunately I can't control my micro with a midi controller (I tried 4 controllers), as you described. Via Midi cable: Midi out of the controller in Midi in to the micro and even with a Midi interface Midisport 4x4 nothing helps although Midisport 4x4 is recognized in Midi settings in the box. (Midi channels are set correctly, of course). I couldn't find anything else in the manual.
    Do you have any idea?

    • @DocBolus
      @DocBolus  Год назад

      It could be something to do with the configuration of the patch. You need to have the global midi module in the patch if I remember correctly and then teach the modules which controls to use. Have a look at this and let me know how you get on.

    Pretty sure im going to acquire one of these soon to complement my lead 3, microkorg, and virus snow. This is possibly the most intriguing synth I've run across so far. I already have a little ancient acer as an XPbox for the lead 3 sound manager. How much memory does the mmicromodular need?

    • @DocBolus
      @DocBolus  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hi, memory will not be a problem this thing came out so long ago I originally ran it on a laptop that had less memory than the first generation of smart phones. More of an issue is getting the software to run, although it seems to work on a windows 10 machine I have.

    Great video Doc.
    However, can you show myself and your subscribers how to MIDI map a MIDI interface to a 2.2ltr diesel engine.
    There’s a problem with the injector timing.
    If it’s any help I usually listen to techno around 130 ish bpm.
    Cheers bud d👍💯🙏

      I would but I'm afraid I can't encourage the use of diesel and you know how old school I am. I may do a quick guide to Midi and a pony and traps though.

    Dusting this off now.. Thanks for the inspiration to pull the old girl out of the closet. Wonder if anyone has been able to get this running on a Windows 11 box.. or if my only hope is to build out a box especially for it. Very good video. Thanks. 🙉

      No worries, glad to have been inspiring. I don't know if you can run VM's in Windows 11, I use Linux and the editing software works fine in wine
