For the New account, do I have to change the DNS records before I can move my emails to this new server or am I able to just use the IP address without changing the DNS records? I think I heard you say that you changed it, but I'm not sure.
@@dontrez8412 Yes you need to change the DNS to the new one and then only you can connect and move the emails to the new one.

Moved from cPanel with old provider to a domain provider without visible settings and connectors recently. Used the IP-solution for getting hold of the old account setup, works a charm. Unlike the outdated cPanel webmail Horde export that is everywhere else in the google searches.

I am currently using google workspace for my business email show do I move to thunderbird? The email setup on my c panel is different to my email address and there is only one email instead of the 2 I have in gmail
Hello... Google work space is fine... Its totally upto your preference.. All they got same thing just with different UI. That's strange that you got 1 email.. Normally you can create unlimited with your domain name.. Let me know if i understand correctly.
Thank for the video. What about transferring Secondary domains on Google Workspace to Mozilla Thunderbird and getting an account for each separately? I have done it but apparently, the Main domain + Secondary domains become one single account in the Thunderbird. Very messy!

Hey Brian, it's the same procedure, connect Gmail to thunderbird and then connect the panel emails and then copy and paste. just follow the tutorial and instead of first server connect with Gmail. let me know how it went. Have an amazing Sunday!
How is it with large mailboxes? For example, those that take up more than 20 GB? The same method will work, do you have to divide into parts?

Can I just drag and drop let's say the "Main folder" from the old account to the new IMAP account ? Will it work ? I think it could be faster than creating a new folder in the new one and move all over. I am thinking if I have many folders in my emails, is going to take a long time to do one by one. Why not just drag and drop the whole "inbox" and let it sync by itself ?
Hey, very good question. Logically sounds possible but I haven't tried while making the video. Can you try and share with us your experience.

For the "Inbox", you can not drag and drop. Have to go through like what you taught, select all....etc. If you drag and drop all the emails from your inbox over to another account, it will move all the emails over. The emails will not remain in the old hosting.
But for the other folders I created, I can drag and drop to the new account which it will copy over.

Hello, so not for transferring the emails but if you are changing the hosting they yes, you have to change the name servers.
