  • Because so much time had passed between when I began the video and when I ended the video, I forgot to mention that yes, it IS a 100% viewing angle. So that's good. Here's the link to the monitor if you want to get one.... www.unico-usa.com/products/ul...

The oversaturation is because the circuit board is expecting VGA signal levels, not TTL. So you need to attenuate from 5vpp to .7vpp.

  • @KillerArcadeGames

I’m glad to see you reviewing this! I’ve seen a couple of people struggling with it so I’ll share this video with them.

Smeggin awesome review & documentation sir !

  • @robbyrobot3303

It's so cool Unico is doing this. I remember their name from a bad point blank rip off, so I was shocked to see them filling this niche and manufacturing 4:3 in larger sizes.

  • @jax0047

I got one. I had all of the same problems you outlined. But for some reason the VGA converter board didn't fix the colors for me. I ended up returning it. I really hope they get this product going.

Like another commenter, I built a small pcb that takes the molex input, 3 pots to dial down the RGB voltage and outputs this on a VGA connector - to make it an easy plug and play. The oversaturation is the much higher RGB voltages the arcade games produce where the LCD monitor is expecting a much lower voltage.

Temporary fix until new controller board done. You can use 330 Ohm Half Watt Resistors inline on red green blue wires before you connect into monitor.

  • @TheGeekPub

I bought two of these when they launched. The lack of a mount didn't bother me..... but not using a standard RGBHV connector was a huge negative for me. Oh that and the damn 1ft cord on the remote board. Why oh why wouldn't that be like 3-4 foot long?

  • @tigheklory

The wrestle fest board is actually filling the screen of you notice the blue background on the Star Field screen.

  • @louisthemilkman

I built a small board with 3 pots inline to reduce the brightness/saturation and it's a decent replacement screen. Lot of people knocking these things but its better than nothing and will obviously improve with time as long as everyone doesn't blast them out of exsistance.

  • @LRSS2455

I bought 2 of them on initial release. I didn’t think about my cabinets need a mirrored image (confidential mission and maze of the kings) and I can’t flip the image without special equipment. I guess i could do a custom mount for the gun sensors.

Thank you for this vid. I've been kicking around if I wanted one, but I was holding off until someone revealed if it had horizontal/vertical size adjustment. I know their 17" didn't and that was a deal breaker, looks like this one is a no go as well.

  • @thegreatjonzini

    Weird Al shirt nice 🥂

  • @chrispenn1544

Amazing video, just one question how is the comparison with crt's in terms of scanlines ? Because this monitor doesn't have scanlines does it affect's the look of the game?

  • @ds4081

Looks like a good mame monitor out of the box.

  • @ebayseller6040

is hdmi going to be better for this? like fill up the full 4:3 image without cutting anything off or adjusting any sizes and positions?

  • @AsunderSoft

Is the motherboard or the lcd panel made by Samsung? I had an old Samsung P2770FH monitor that has the same exact menu controls.

  • @azrabain8210

I just want Wells Garner to start making CRT arcade monitors again! I would pay $1000 right now for a brand new Wells 9200 multi-sink. There should be CRTs being made until they can come out with the technology that can match them period!

  • @tigheklory

Mike phase and clock aren't really geometry adjustments they are for locking on to the analog signal. They are just missing geometry controls completely. Which is expected of most LCD monitors that are designed to lock on to a VGA signal.

  • @ignignxkt

What’s that small board? So you can get jamma to work with it?
