Thank you so much for literally everything you said! Lara is an amazing performer. I listened to the studio version of this song afterwards and it made me wonder why she bothers to pay for the studio. They should just record everything live - she is one of the rare artists along with the amazing band and background vocals who sounds way better live than in a studio. That's just crazy in itself, having in mind the background noise of the audience, space, etc. As for understanding the meaning, I do that for my benefit. It's hard to enjoy what I don't at least TRY to understand. Many songs lose much of their intensity, charm and emotion if one doesn't care what it's about. Mind you, not the song's background, just connecting the lyrics, music and performance.
Thank you so much, Daniela! ❤ You NEED to read my comment to Raquel on this one - very important. 😉 She was quicker, so I wrote to her what is meant for both of you. @@AleksReacts It’s interesting, another reactor Christi Bovee, will make a live streamed reaction to this duet this afternoon, let's see if she also has problems with it. Yes, she was able to make the reaction without any problems and funnily enough, she also mentioned how tense Michael is compared to Lara😁
As I understand it, issues of fair use (granted, I've only heard of this tendency rearing its head regarding clips of movies and TV series, but it'd be surprising were music to be exempt from this phenomenon) tend to increase during streams compared to videos, so I would prepare for the worst.
Thank you Alex for for another reaction to my favourite artist. Lara is amazing as always. She sang with Hauser last may at the Royal Albert Hall, still amazing. Her duet with Dimitri Hvorostovsky in 2016 New wave Sochi "Toi et Moi" is also great to watch among many others. Greetings from New Zealand.😊
Tango (english translation) ------------------------------------ But what am I doing there I sink into your depths What time is it and what fire is drowning me Is it dark or bright, I don't know My skin sticks to the red of your blood that moves And flows towards me I dance and I fight And I twist my ankles around you My legs fold themselves I circle your hips On my waist your hands play I pray in vain but you laugh, a thirst satiated I dance or I fight I don't know, I don't know Tango my love You're hurting me and my fate It is the good that consumes me When my body writhes Tango my love Animal or matador One of us is the strongest When my body writhes But doubt settles I feel like I'm on the run Life pushes me in the race My body that pushes you away Your movements remind me that you are not with me The right that I owe you, I dance and I fight But how to say to whom, to what, to whom I belong When to belong to no one but you is the challenge And if I told you that there was someone else I dance and you fight I dance and you fight Tango my love You're hurting me and my fate It is the good that consumes me When my body writhes Tango my love Animal or matador One of us is the strongest When my body writhes Tango my body It doesn't belong to you yet And if my soul leaves it My body, it writhes
@Royal_BLT No one said it, it's just the lyrics. 😂 That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm really not a puritan at all, but this is so very public that I feel I need to keep it decent. It's sort of what TV used to be - politeness used to be expected, so cussing and indecency are mostly out of the question. Like myself, the channel reflects 2 different centuries - the 20th and 21st. A bit more liberal than the 1920's, a bit more conservative than the 2020's. 😉 Actually, I might be stuck in the 1980's with a slight look over the shoulder to the pre Great War era (grandpa's influence). 🤣🤣🤣
🇨🇦 You asked how she does that with her body ! Be in good shape physically and attack the music with all of your heart and soul, then ignore the pressures of hanging upside down with grit and determination ! I think this makes her a musical athlete ! 🇨🇦
I came back just to share something that I’ve just found out. Hauser has just posted the whole show in which Lara was one of his guests… I was checking their superb duets again, and the thing I didn’t know was that, right before their two songs together, Adagio and Caruso, he played the “Lara’s Theme” from Dr. Zhivago. I thought it to be such a nice gesture. Specially, bc we know that Lara was named after this character from the book/movie. A favourite of her mother, I guess… ☺️🤎☺️ Very nice touch Mr. Hauser. 👏🏻 That’s how to welcome Queen Lara on stage. 🙌🏻
Agree with @danielakeller7532 - that is a lovely touch on Hauser's part. I have to note something else, though. I love how you use the comment section for chat on Lara's concerts, interviews, books and various fan videos. I believe we should formally rename it into "chat section" now that we're all using it as such (with a slight delay, eh) ❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing that Raquel 🥰

@@AleksReacts You misunderstood me. This was not a criticism. I love Lara as much as anyone. My point is that viewers should go to see a translation. The problem is that most fans do not understand the lyrics, so do not know how sensual this song is - the process of seduction. Understanding them adds to an appreciation of Lara's wonderful performance, I am sure you would agree.
Apologies for giving you the wrong impression. I didn't misunderstand you. I was merely jokingly agreeing with you... Proof cultural differences exist. 😉 It makes no sense to listen to most songs and not know what they're about. One loses so much that way and this was a nuanced performance, every second matters. So when I see there is no subtitle/translation, I check the lyrics in advance. In conclusion - yes, I very much agree with you. ❤
Top notch reaction, Aleks! Another one from her that I hadn't seen/heard, and another one that I really liked. Beautiful on so many different levels. No one could have done this any better, of that I am pretty sure. MAYBE Mon Laferte ?? Possibly. Have a great rest of the weekend! Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
Man, this was a tough one. I read the lyrics beforehand, but I had no idea what this would do to them. On top of that, she's very obviously capable of dismantling people's inhibitions with a glance, so if I wanted this video to survive on RUclips I had to hold back a lot. Ok, I'll take the bait. Should put Mon Laferte on the list with a specific song, or just go with what I put on there for now (any song)? Much love to Norway! ❤❤❤
@@AleksReacts Hehe. There are so many, and her diversity is incredible. I guess some of her fans would ask me why I choose THIS song, but for me it's a good way to ease into her voice and to see if you like it. It's a duet with Manuel García, and I think the whole performance is absolutely beautiful. I don't know if links will stick, so I'll paste the title here so that you can copy it and find it that way. I WILL try to add the link as well, in a reply to this post. Title : Manuel García & Mon Laferte - La Danza de las Libélulas Let's see what you think when the time comes 😊 Take care !
How can you not be stunned by the artistic qualities of this wonderful woman. You say she is versatile, I suggest you explore her classical side with IGOR KRUTOY. Her magnificent performance in MISS HYDE (SOCHI2016) will allow you to discover another side of Lara Fabian. Thank you from Montreal.
As my first comment explains, I had to hold back on this one, for the sake of propriety. I have explored a lot so far and Mademoiselle Hyde is also on the list, it's just that time has limits. Thank you and greetings to Montreal! 😊
What an honour to live in the same city as Lara. And yes the cooperation with Igor Krutov, and specially Mademoiselle Hyde is great. My 90 year old neighbour, a famous pianiste from Tbiilisi, who studied in Moscow and gave concerts all over the world is like me a big fan, and we watch often the old concerts of Lara. We love that quality time together.
That is a lovely way to spend time together - listening to masterpieces by wonderful artists. I'm sure it's even easier for someone whose life has been in music to understand and appreciate every nuance. Thank you for sharing that image with me. ❤️
Thank you soooo much!🌹 As I had commented on your "Perdere l'amore" reaction, next to her passionate performance of that song, this is among my top Lara faves. The sensuality she oozes with every delibarate slow movement of her hands, the throwing back of her head, every single movement to captivate us in such a sultry performance, wow. Like I said in my previous comments, there is not another female singer that could deliver this performance in the passionate and seductive manner that she captured for us. So many facets that this wonderful lady has for us to enjoy. Her breath control and ability to deliver strong notes is also very notably displayed in this gem. ruclips.net/video/-85T-iR7dfc/видео.html unfortunately very poor quality but my gosh how she can deliver and hold those notes at times in the various poses while sitting down...??? As always thank you and yes I agree with you, exquisite! Can't wait for "Llora" and "Mademoiselle Hyde"🌺
Caught the comment "Oh by the way I should have mentioned the link is to "Dites-Moi Pourquoi Je L'aime" 1998 live." No need to mention if the link go through. I always open it and pause right away so I can copy the link to the video cleanly. Usually, there is a title of the song under the video. 😊 As for Tango, what more can I say but: Thank you so much as well and yes, I agree with you on everything, as was probably visible from my reaction (and I held myself back as much as possible to keep my reaction far from becoming a lewd grandma 🤣). I've got you down for both Llora and Mademoiselle Hyde, just checked. One by one, we'll get there. Also, it seems ALL of you keep recommending "that song" as Bruce put it. Getting the message here. ❤
Queen (of course, including Freddie Mercury) is one of the greatest bands of all time. Not much more can be said, or rather so much more can be said, but I'd think to anyone with any sort of hearing it's all very clear. 😊
Forget Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and all the female singer stripping or getting almost naked on stage, Lara just show us how sexy you can perform fully dress, amazing woman
I tried to answer your last comment, but don’t know why, my comment is not showing… So here it is again: I love how you always go so deep to understand what you’re reacting to, and that you’re really willing to discover new sounds. If you’re so interested in new cultures, maybe you should take a look at Elis Regina, who was, and I believe, will always be the best and most famous Brazilian singer. Like Lara and Mercedes, she used to inhabit every song. A really intense performer. ruclips.net/video/rZOrEJPDNWA/видео.htmlsi=Lw20XSggxjDwtHQ0 Also, don’t forget to use my link for Lara’s reaction. LOL! That's actually a very good questions, especially since my comment didn't make much sense there, did it? What I meant was: it sounds like a French singer, singing in French, but using some sort of Spanish singing technique in that one short part of the song. I expressed myself incorrectly, it's not the accent, it's the voice quality that reminded me of some traditional Spanish type of music.😊

Thank you, Raquel! All added, of course. Enough material for all the years until my retirement is on the list by now, but that's a good thing! 🤣 Now, as I do plan to get to Alfonsina y el mar relatively quickly, very likely right after or even right before Dites-Moi Pourquoi Je L'aime, I have a cunning plan that cannot fail! I looked up the song and found that the original is by Mercedes Sosa and I have never heard it. So before I dive into Lara's performance, I plan to react to Mercedes' original first. I don't expect too much interest in it, but I'm interested, so I'll do it anyway. 😂
@@AleksReacts Mercedes is a Diva! I’m interested too. And that’s one of the things I like about you… You’re not attached to the number of views or likes, which lets you really enjoy what you’re doing. 👏🏻 Just keep it going, hun! 🙌🏻
See, you know Mercedes as a diva, while I've never heard her sing, ever. Didn't know her name until I looked up the song as the title sounded familiar. This is precisely why this IS fun. I mean, Lara has millions of fans and if not for the Internet I'd have never heard of her, which would have been a great shame...
@@AleksReacts Well, Mercedes Sosa was from Argentina and she was huge in Latin America at her time. To this day she’s very respected and known as “La Negra”. She sang with many Brazilian singers and I’ve listened to her all my life, thanks, again, to my dear mother. When I heard Lara singing “Alfonsina y el Mar”, which is an incredibly sad song, I got extremely emotional and couldn’t suppress some tears. It’s a beautiful tribute, not only to Mercedes, but mainly to Alfonsina Storni, a poetess who committed suicide by throwing herself into the sea. As always, Lara did an amazing and respectful job.
Aha, I read most of that when I looked up the original, I read the lyrics to ensure I understand what I'm listening to and even read the biography of Alfonsina Storni. This may sound odd, but I can understand her decision and the lyrics make sense. What I meant is that some amazing singers are just not known worldwide and many of us miss out on great talent just because they're from a different country. Did not know Mercedes was known as La Negra. Why that nickname? I'm guessing it was a term of respect or endearment, just wondering what it's connected to.

I find her to be the personification of what a woman should be. She is feminine, sweet, cute, gentle, emotional, strong, capable and sexy. She's easy to fall in love with, if only as an idea rather than a real woman.

Thanks again for a wonderful reaction Aleks❤. Yeah Lara can really do everything, but i'm still a little sad that „The Prayer“ duet didn't work out.
Thank you so much, Daniela! ❤
You NEED to read my comment to Raquel on this one - very important. 😉 She was quicker, so I wrote to her what is meant for both of you.
I don't know yet what will happen with The Prayer, but let's wait a while, maybe it gets unblocked in 30+ days. It uploaded and waiting for the verdict.
@@AleksReactsWait, it was blocked?? I've seen many reactions to it, so I don't understand why that would happen.
@@elizabethwhite1068 Yeah it was blocked and i know it‘s so strange😕
Thank you! Added, of course and kind greetings to New Zealand! ❤
Tango (english translation)
------------------------------------
But what am I doing there
I sink into your depths
What time is it and what fire is drowning me
Is it dark or bright, I don't know
My skin sticks to the red of your blood that moves
And flows towards me
I dance and I fight
And I twist my ankles around you
My legs fold themselves
I circle your hips
On my waist your hands play
I pray in vain but you laugh, a thirst satiated
I dance or I fight
I don't know, I don't know
Tango my love
You're hurting me and my fate
It is the good that consumes me
When my body writhes
Tango my love
Animal or matador
One of us is the strongest
When my body writhes
But doubt settles
I feel like I'm on the run
Life pushes me in the race
My body that pushes you away
Your movements remind me that you are not with me
The right that I owe you, I dance and I fight
But how to say to whom, to what, to whom I belong
When to belong to no one but you is the challenge
And if I told you that there was someone else
I dance and you fight
I dance and you fight
Tango my love
You're hurting me and my fate
It is the good that consumes me
When my body writhes
Tango my love
Animal or matador
One of us is the strongest
When my body writhes
Tango my body
It doesn't belong to you yet
And if my soul leaves it
My body, it writhes
Good idea to add this to the video! Thank you, Eric. 🥰

@@ericsicard910 Her lyrical brilliance astounds me sometimes. Her multi-lingual mult-genre gifts flow together seamlessly in this song.

Great reaction Aleks👍
Love this song and performance ❤️
Thank you! I loved it too. ❤️
🇨🇦 You asked how she does that with her body ! Be in good shape physically and attack the music with all of your heart and soul, then ignore the pressures of hanging upside down with grit and determination ! I think this makes her a musical athlete ! 🇨🇦
That one was rhetorical. The woman is a miracle and quite obviously one that took care of her miraculous self and voice. 🤣
That‘s really a nice touch😊
Agree with @danielakeller7532 - that is a lovely touch on Hauser's part.
I have to note something else, though. I love how you use the comment section for chat on Lara's concerts, interviews, books and various fan videos. I believe we should formally rename it into "chat section" now that we're all using it as such (with a slight delay, eh) ❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing that Raquel 🥰
@@AleksReacts Yes, that's great, especially now that Lara is a coach at The Voice Kids and her new album is coming out soon, we certainly have a lot to discuss😊
@@AleksReactsOh gosh! 🫣 I really like to chat! And I’m so glad that now we’re all building sort of a community here. It’s just lovely! And your channel is certainly a blessing! ☺️ Thanks for putting up with my overly talkative self… 😂
One day, I'm thinking we could have that coffee online. Seems with two chatterboxes (Raquel and I) and one reasonable lady (Daniela) who might still get a word in, we'd have fun. Just tossing ideas out there, no pressure or anything. I feel like some of you are becoming friends, rather than words on screen. It's just an idea, at some point in time, I might just ping you ladies if you're up for it. 😊
Your timing was perfect for when she started to sing with some punch.
Thank you, felt it was building... 😉

Attention. The lyrics are really steamy!
Oh, come on... Not only that, what she did with those lyrics was what really made it hard for this reaction to be polite and decent. 🤣
It makes no sense to listen to most songs and not know what they're about.

🇨🇦 See ?? I mentioned "Mademoiselle Hyde" and still waiting, patiently ! 🇨🇦
Bruce, I admit freely that you've been very patient, but I am also delivering one by one. 🥰
Oh by the way I should have mentioned the link is to "Dites-Moi Pourquoi Je L'aime" 1998 live.

As for Tango, what more can I say but: Thank you so much as well and yes, I agree with you on everything, as was probably visible from my reaction (and I held myself back as much as possible to keep my reaction far from becoming a lewd grandma 🤣). I've got you down for both Llora and Mademoiselle Hyde, just checked. One by one, we'll get there.

🇨🇦 Question ::
Does this song sound like a Spanish singer, singing in French or a French singer, singing a Spanish song in French ? 🇨🇦

Now, as I do plan to get to Alfonsina y el mar relatively quickly, very likely right after or even right before Dites-Moi Pourquoi Je L'aime, I have a cunning plan that cannot fail!
Seductive, sensuel and sexy, nevertheless never vulgar. But boy o boy.... Thanks Aleks for reacting to this masterpiece. Great suggestion, kudos to @guymarcbravoso1341, @xerezjg52, @DAlex33, @fredericvieu6704 and @MaryscottOConnorinTC!.
