"Caruso" is a song written by Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Dalla in 1986. It is dedicated to Enrico Caruso, an Italian tenor. For many the best version is from Lara Fabian, and when you know that Pavarotti, Bocelli and many other grand Virtuoso did their version, is a huge task, David Foster invited her to do her rendition of Caruso (Live at the Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, 2010) ... David Foster mentionned before her rendition that She is the best singer in this world. Nobody do it better. I agree....
🇨🇦 I could read the shock on your face when you realised that Lara (not Laura) could produce an even better performance than last reaction ! The 'chills' will only continue from here ! If you continue to react to the songs in this concert (maybe 11 or 12 of them) you will begin to realise that she had the energy to perform all of these in concert, in under 2 hours ! 🇨🇦
Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). Even Metallica covered it 😂 But for many, Lara's version from the concert From Lara With Love 2000 ruclips.net/video/BP2KnLemT78/видео.html is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla. I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian. She also has been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.
Always love seeing your information ty very much I was blessed to actually work with her but only afterwards was it I started finding out so much more about how great she really is ty again
Hei Eric, nice to read your comment, although I'e listened to this a hundred times and knew much of the backstory (I git to know this song in 1986 or 87 as sung by Dalla, it was quite new then and I was introduced to it by an Italian friend, Enzo, during a vacation in Southern Italy. We were listening to a lot of music back then, I remember early Genesis like "Selling England To The Pound", and Pink Floyd, but also Italian music, and Caruso definitely was one of the songs that got stuck in my head forever, and I was blown away when I heard Lara's version for the first time. I was a complete mess... But reading your comments is always worth it, it was new to me that Lara's gone back to Italy lately, good for her! Best regards to Canada, peace and love from Bavaria
That's not quite the story I heard. I heard it was a song written by Lucio Dallas as a tribute to Enrico Caruso based on a local innkeeper mentioning how he had met Caruso when he stayed there. He recounted how he fell in love with a young American opera singer who he was training and when she had to return to America, he was left devastated. He was never the same again and lamented the loss the rest of his life. Caruso apparently shared this all with the innkeeper/proprietor he befriended. So based on this story, Lucio Dalla wrote this song in tribute to Caruso (and his loss in love). The song would later be remade for David Foster's "The Hitman Returns" performed in 2011. Honestly, it doesn't matter to me which version of the story is accurate. This is literally one of my favorite songs and she sings it perfectly and flawlessly.
@@backcheck31 except I double checked Caruso’s biography before i wrote my comment and I can tell there are a lot of fairy tales coming from Italia about it. Enrico Caruso married one of his american young student in 1918. She was named Dorothy Park and was 25 yo, he was 45. They had a girl named Gloria. When Caruso died in 1921, Dorothy was there and did not fly away.

It's such a joy to watch someone new discover Lara, especially someone with musical knowledge. There is truly no one else like her, that brings together all of the varied factors in such an interesting and effective way. In one single line she can go through multiple effects, dynamic changes, color changes and more, before you even realize the journey she just took you on. And yet, as intricate and complex as it is, it never ever comes across as showy. Because she never does anything just because she can. Every element, every choice, is in service of the story and conveying it to us. And it's all delivered in the absolutely most pleasing voice I have ever heard in my life, and I have heard a lot! No matter how many times I hear this performance, one of the things that kills me is the very last note, the way she controls it while backing off so gently until it fades out, it's so good!
Yes, her mastery of all aspects of the song is fascinating. She holds together all the threads of melody, expressions and nuances, variations, arc of narration, volume and shape of sound, etc. All for pleasure and emotion. It's great art.

If you want to Lara preform a true rock duet you need to see Lara and the great french rocker Johnny Halladay singing Requiem Pour U Fou. I have seen great duets in operhouses all over the world but their live duet is one of extreme passion.
Hopefully, she'll choose or be led to the less contrived performance, i.e., the one delivered amidst a light rainfall _as opposed to_ the slightly more melodramatic version which found the duo, Lara in particular, struggling just a bit, to not only reach similar heights, note-wise but to forge as strong a bond with her partner thus enabling the two to more effectively convey the powerful emotions associated with the song.

Hi Lauren 👋 first and foremost, I'm so glad you are enjoying watching Lara's music. Without a doubt, the best singer this century ❤. What I like the best about the videos I've watched of your reactions is your different approach... I love the fact that you prefer to watch the entire thing without constantly interrupting the video and appreciate the amazing performances in its entirety 👍 then going back and rewatching it to point out things and give your analysis/opinion. Wish more people did that. Keep up the great work, and please watch Broken Vow and Je t'aime live in Paris 🙏
Many great singers, such as Lucio Dalla and Pavarotti, sang this song, but somehow I found that Lara rendition is the the one that touches me most. To me Caruso is a heart breaking song and Lara is able to portray this song fully. Again, amazing reactions from you. Btw, she also wrote songs in English (and sings those songs) such as Adagio, Broken Vow, and You Are Not from Here, which are indeed spectacular.
Lara is in a class of her own. She's has class in every respect. Her entire performance is incredibly beautiful...very intimate. She is completely engaged with the song from start to finish. In fact she started her actual engagement with the song moments before the music even started playing and she start to sing...the mark of a true artist. Thank you for your reaction.
As a musician, I still get chills listening to Lara after all these years. Her dictation is perfect, her breath work is amazing and her range is immense. To see you react as you did, made me subscribe to your channel. Lara has a way to grab your soul and ripp it right out of your chest, hence the Goose bumps and how music should be. I really appreciated your emotional roller coaster during this listen. It shows your true self and your appreciation for music and her work
hello ,please listen Lara Fabian sings in more than 12 different languages and is fluent in French, Italian, English and Spanish, her musical repertoire is very varied and covers Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, Maria Caray, an exceptional and authentic artist and also a source of inspiration for many young singers like dimash she takes you on these journeys of the heart, of the soul, of the spirit, through the sound of her voice for the time of a song thank you Lara
The story is about the love, a famous singer (who is dying ).This love, chain, the blood are metaphors to express his love to his new wife and child. He knows he is dying and the seperation(dying) from his wife and child is the raw emotions that only Lara can do justice with her voice and talent. This is a famous Italian song .Its worth your time to research the story and then listen to Lara sing ....it will crush your heart and soul so beautiful
Kind of random, but you have the most beautiful, expressive eyes. They really show your feelings as you're listening to Lara. And she brings out a lot of feelings, no? ❤️
Thank YOU, for this great review of one, if not the best voices & passionate storyteller! 🫶 Im "old" in the Game & I've no doubt that this Woman could sing anything and make you/us feel/believe anything!🤗 Again, thx & keep em' coming!😉
This song is about the last days of the life of the great Italian tenor Enrique Caruso. The whole world was at his feet. He was famous and loved by audiences on all continents. At the end of his life he came to the quiet seaside town of Sorriento, Italy. He knew he was dying. Next to him was his last love, a young woman who idolized him and his talent.
There are English subtitle versions out there, and they assist a little with contest, but you really don't need them. For instance, it is easy ot see Lara acting out the disease related blood poisoning that took Caruso at the age of 47. The way you consulted te lyrics later is, I think, very effective for this song.
Hi!, Nice reaction as always. Lara is great! Lara and Dimash, in my opinion, are the best voices and the most versatile singers on our time 👏👏. Other Lara's amazing songs are: "Je Suis Malade", "Je t'aime", "Ta peine", "Par Amour", "Ma Vie Dans La Tienne" or "L'oubli",... I wish you can react to them too, take it easy. Thanks. 👋👋
I absolutely love this performance. It was the first one i saw of Lara & it just blew me away! Dimash is a huge fan of Lara & they both bring out the emotion in a song to perfection. Maybe Dimash learned this from Lara 😊 I would love to see you react to Lara's live performance of Je Suis Malade. It is just heart-wrenching. Thank you for reacting to this amazing singer 😊🙏💞
She is everything , an artist, storyteller, performer, and more! You are falling into Lara's rabbit hole. Top elite class on a different level than most singers could ever aspire. Beligan born also a Canadian citizen, Mother Italian, father Dutch. Her soul is always sync into her music. Amazing this DNA is so precious. We are lucky to experience her in our life time.Time will be the judge of her excellence and she will live amoung the Greatness singers in this world and the afterworld. She knows exactly what she is doing to her songs, totall control !!! Going to see her here in Montreal Canada june 2024 so exceited (happy butterflies) Do we love her ? hell ya
Thank you Lauren for your excellent and heartfelt reaction video😀.Next I recommend you doing "Perdere L'amore" or "Broken Vow" from the same concert "From Lara with love". This concert is a good place to start, but Laras professional career spans over almost 35 years, and she is always excellent ♥ 4 concerts of hers to be looking forward to, starting april 2024 - cannot wait 😃
This interpretation of 'Caruso' by Lara imagines a dying Caruso (who knows he is dying) singing and saying "goodbye" to his wife and young daughter......"Te voglio bene assai" = I love you very much !............
Great reactions to all of Lara's songs. You really need to do "Broken Vow." I'm sure you'll recognize the song since it has been covered by other artists, but Lara wrote the song and performs it like no one else. The version from Lara with Love is amazing.
Lara Fabian has been on my Top Ten List of Female Vocalist since I wrote the list, and this performance of "Caruso" was my favorite, until early April 2017, when I first saw a video on youtube of Jackie Evancho performing it. "Caruso" is one of the songs from Jackie's Two Hearts Album. I have been a fan of Jackie since seeing her on America's Got Talent in 2010. She was 10 then, and she was still 10 years old when she took away Michael Jackson Title as the Youngest Solo Vocal Artist to go Platinum. Jackie had just had her 11th Birthday Four Days before PBS began filming Jackie's First PBS Great Performances Special. The Hit Man David Foster was the Producer for that PBS Special, and he got Barbra Streisand to do a "virtual duet" of her iconic mega hit "Somewhere" with Jackie. Every performance on that Special is Outstanding. If you really want to brighten your day by a 100%, while putting a smile on your face, and tears in your eyes, watch Jackie performance of "To Believe", which is a prayer, and wish shared by Jackie and the song's Composer(Jackie's uncle, Matthew Evancho).
Hi, Lauren. Just a thought on (i) "melts the blood" and "frees the blood" (ii) "chain" Anything that melts implies heat/warmth - from solid to liquid, like becoming runny. "Frees" in my opinion, implies a voluntary act while "melts" is involuntary (become free as a result of another force from elsewhere. "Chain" implies limited and controlled freedom. From the above one can arrive at the idea (to slot in with the lyrics) that the gentleman in the story is reluctant to free her altogether, hence this wave effect - letting her go but then drawing her back in. There are times when he feels her very close - the chain bringing her in and keeping her close until the heat becomes to much and allows her to run away, becoming free again. Even the piano stops/pauses intermittently at those "heated" moments... Again, I love your reaction. Absolutely sweet. Thank you.
Please go for Perdere l'Amore.. I am new here and I love your analysis. Lara lived here a long time in Québec, Canada and she is an incredible singer. Une chanteuse très sous-estimée, but still, one of the best I've heard.
She’s done 3 albums in English. This From Lara with Love show is great, but it was a long time ago. She’s still at it now in her 50s and has a huge hit in France right now with a new song called Ta Piene.
ADAGIO SHOULD BE THE NEXT ONE. She wrote the lyrics of that one and it is in english. Always live from Lara with love. Lara has two native languages: french from her father , italian from her sicilian mother. Her grandfather (mother's side) was an american from Detroit so she speaks english too. She's also fluent in spanish ( ou may listen to QUEDATE). She sings in twelve languages in all. Best regards from Québec city, Canada. 🙂😉😊
I Anoit thee the talk stop queen of reaction videos lol. I forgot what I was watching. Don't forget, we want to enjoy Lara too. Maybe you should do a talk show. Lol
Not Barbra, not Whitney, not Mariah, not Celine, not Sohyang, almost none, have as pleasant a tone as. Lara's voice has. And her breath control allows consummate phrasing. Barbra was her equal in this aspect of sngng.Add to that her expressivity, which is also unmatched. That's why Lara has become so popular.
It seems like the chain throughout the lyrics is meant to be a positive "connection" or "link" that melts those who are cold blooded and not a negative "bond/binding".
Very excited to watch your reaction to Adagio. Anyway...how about Diana Ankudinova? Can start with Wicked Game. For me she is a female version of Dimash🤗
the lyrics didn't change mid-song, it's just that the translator took some artistic liberties, the word in themselves mean the same thing, but the chain is the best translation for "catena", also "scioglie" is more accurately translated as "melts"(the blood in the veins)... the song is an homage to Enrico Caruso who developed purulent pleurisy after an accident at one of his performances at the Met where a decorative pillar fell on his kidney... the song depicts his last year of life when he managed to return to Italy with his wife and daughter, and my guess is that the girl in the song is his daughter Gloria Caruso which he is very sad to leave behind knowing that he might die soon from his illness...
I would agree on most of the fact of her doing live except for 1 Si tu n'pas d'amour you need to see the bonus video seriously it would show you a different side of her plus she actually shows her acting skills off in it enjoy watching you watching her ty
Since no one actually explained the lyrics.. this is a couple that has to separate because the man leaves to be an immigrant to America.. the bond/ chain is their immense love.. Lucio Dala and Lara Fabian are the best interpreters of this eternal love song..
Her voice - it just works! If you want to listen Floor clear voice, only with acoustic guitar backing: "Nightwish - How's The Heart Acoustic (Planet Rock acoustic session)"

Lara singing in Spanish, in this impressive music video: LLORA (CRY), it is crude but it is a reality for many women. Lara is a wonderful storyteller on this occasion:

Please react to Broken Vow and You’re not from here next , same concert
Hi Lauren 👋 first and foremost, I'm so glad you are enjoying watching Lara's music. Without a doubt, the best singer this century ❤. What I like the best about the videos I've watched of your reactions is your different approach... I love the fact that you prefer to watch the entire thing without constantly interrupting the video and appreciate the amazing performances in its entirety 👍 then going back and rewatching it to point out things and give your analysis/opinion. Wish more people did that. Keep up the great work, and please watch Broken Vow and Je t'aime live in Paris 🙏
Lara Fabian is Fabulous 🤩
Emotions to listen and watch, amazing Lara
Still the best performer we ever have. I have tears.
You, young lady, are doing great emotionally pleasant song reactions. Next up, I suggest Lara's "Broken Vow", which she wrote herself.
Just great reaction to Lara the Queen
Kind of random, but you have the most beautiful, expressive eyes. They really show your feelings as you're listening to Lara. And she brings out a lot of feelings, no? ❤️
she absolutely does. and thank you
she is the Queen of hearts !
Thank YOU, for this great review of one, if not the best voices & passionate storyteller! 🫶
Im "old" in the Game & I've no doubt that this Woman could sing anything and make you/us feel/believe anything!🤗
Again, thx & keep em' coming!😉
This song is about the last days of the life of the great Italian tenor Enrique Caruso. The whole world was at his feet. He was famous and loved by audiences on all continents. At the end of his life he came to the quiet seaside town of Sorriento, Italy. He knew he was dying. Next to him was his last love, a young woman who idolized him and his talent.
Beautiful...... beautiful... beautiful.....❤❤❤❤
Even your reaction... beautiful 😻.
Maybe Dimash learned this from Lara 😊
I would love to see you react to Lara's live performance of Je Suis Malade. It is just heart-wrenching.
Thank you for reacting to this amazing singer 😊🙏💞
every single time listening this song is gaving me goose bumps
Love your reactions and how you enjoy Lara.
Just visiting this again, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed your reaction! Thank you again.🌺
Going to see her here in Montreal Canada june 2024 so exceited (happy butterflies)
Do we love her ?
Utterly sublime ❤❤❤
Hi, Lauren. Just a thought on
(i) "melts the blood" and "frees the blood"
(ii) "chain"
Anything that melts implies heat/warmth - from solid to liquid, like becoming runny.
Meravigliosa, sublime❤
She’s done 3 albums in English. This From Lara with Love show is great, but it was a long time ago. She’s still at it now in her 50s and has a huge hit in France right now with a new song called Ta Piene.
4 albums in English
Lara Fabian, Wonderful Life, Chameleon. That’s 3 by my count. What’s the 4th?
@@matthewcimorelli4002 Every Woman in Me
@@Eric-32 absolutely! Good call!
@@Eric-32 also several English language songs on Mademoiselle Hyde
I'm both a BIG Overlord fan; and a Lara Fabian fan . It's funny seeing both things connected/
Thanks. More people need to know her....
I gave you a Big Thumb's Up for your reaction of Lara's performance. I would really love to see you do a reaction video of Jackie Evancho.
I love it.
ADAGIO SHOULD BE THE NEXT ONE. She wrote the lyrics of that one and it is in english. Always
live from Lara with love. 🙂😉😊
great reaction
My love!!!!!!!!!
lauren you already have green eyes and you are gorgeous in what you are doing
🥰🥰🥰
I Anoit thee
the talk stop queen of reaction videos lol. I forgot what I was watching. Don't forget, we want to enjoy Lara too. Maybe you should do a talk show. Lol
😂 It looks like you are trying to cultivate yourself!!!
Please react to lara fabian and johnny hallyday
Muito bom !!!
have a look at lara fabien live in moscow
Not Barbra, not Whitney, not Mariah, not Celine, not Sohyang, almost none, have as pleasant a tone as. Lara's voice has. And her breath control allows consummate phrasing. Barbra was her equal in this aspect of sngng.Add to that her expressivity, which is also unmatched. That's why Lara has become so popular.
Lara’s tone is just a variation on Barbra’s. Celine’s tone is unique and prettier
@@lizatsurkan4323 I can imagine you lie awake under your damp shell-encrusted rock awaiting a passing foot to bite!
It seems like the chain throughout the lyrics is meant to be a positive "connection" or "link" that melts those who are cold blooded and not a negative "bond/binding".
You’re so sweet ! I can see the feeling in your eyes
Very excited to watch your reaction to Adagio. Anyway...how about Diana Ankudinova? Can start with Wicked Game. For me she is a female version of Dimash🤗
Diana has been influenced by Lara too.
the lyrics didn't change mid-song, it's just that the translator took some artistic liberties, the word in themselves mean the same thing, but the chain is the best translation for "catena", also "scioglie" is more accurately translated as "melts"(the blood in the veins)... the song is an homage to Enrico Caruso who developed purulent pleurisy after an accident at one of his performances at the Met where a decorative pillar fell on his kidney... the song depicts his last year of life when he managed to return to Italy with his wife and daughter, and my guess is that the girl in the song is his daughter Gloria Caruso which he is very sad to leave behind knowing that he might die soon from his illness...
❤❤
I would agree on most of the fact of her doing live except for 1 Si tu n'pas d'amour you need to see the bonus video seriously it would show you a different side of her plus she actually shows her acting skills off in it enjoy watching you watching her ty
We need reaction "Ti amo cosi" Lara+Aida+Dimash😊
Since no one actually explained the lyrics.. this is a couple that has to separate because the man leaves to be an immigrant to America.. the bond/ chain is their immense love.. Lucio Dala and Lara Fabian are the best interpreters of this eternal love song..
Put the subtitles, the lyrics of this song (written by Lucio Dalla) are an absolute masterpiece...
great reaction. please react to faouzia fur elise live performance she is amazing
You a cheating yourself of a special emotional recovery when you cut it off too soon. 😊❤️❤️
Love +++++++++-
#GabrielHenrique ❤❤ I leave as a suggestion for your reaction, the talented Gabriel Henrique with the cover LOVE BY GRACE by Lara Fabian
