“Help” those in “need”. You people are using these words very loosely. OUR CITY does an AMAZING JOB putting people into shelter beds and getting them off the street. THE PROBLEM is many of these people DO NOT OBEY RULES. They want to live careless lives. Shelters have curfews and anti drug rules. Many of these people don’t obey the curfew or lose their bed because of doing drugs for 7 or 8 days straight.

Another clear person who doesn’t live in New York…. This is NYC, you cannot force these people into an apartment most times, they don’t want to follow basic rules of standard community.
Subways aren't homeless shelters. Authorities need to enforce laws. In the meantime, those with financial means avoid subways at all costs. Other cities abroad keep their subways clean. NYC can too, but the will needs to be there.
I hope that right people see my message ,homelessness is on peek in NYC. Every single day, there is a car or two of a train where you see people sleeping on the seats and we travel without getting a seat. Obviously, we commuters are scared to get into the train cars because we do not know if the homeless people carry a weapon. 😢
Homeless are hopeless they refuse to go to shelters due to staff being “rude” or they don’t want to share a bathroom/kitchen… what can you do with people like that. I really don’t care what happens to them
Not always about rude staff at shelters. Many shelters have violence amongst other dangerous factors. You don't have to care. The city, politicians, tax payers should care. People should care. Not all homeless people are hopeless. Or in same state of mental, emotional, or physical health or company. Your comment is obtuse. The millions they spent on illegals could have solved or invested, assisted homeless population in NY. Plenty of money to fix issues for citizens.Greed is the problem. Lack of compassion is the other.
I was homeless earlier this year but I’m back on my feet! I’ll tell you first hand that those homeless people are content with their situation . Sad to say but why become a functional member of society?? That would require them to WORK😂
You know, the migrants were the ones who actually wanted the apartments and help. Have you met any of these homeless people? You ever did drugs with them? Drank with them? Exactly. LET ME TELL YOU, you can’t force these people to take an apartment. The streets in nyc have all the drugs and money and food. You can’t get that sitting inside an apartment like the migrant….
sickening society man people should be in homes and get jobs to get their life back on track. the city/state need to do more stop wasting money on crap.
Maybe CBS 2 can investigate why NYC has decided not to implement the expanded CityFHEPS voucher laws the council had passed. And maybe we should also discuss why it costs $4000/month to put people in a shelter cot when it costs less then half that number to give them a voucher and privacy. And FTR, I've been homeless on multiple occasions.
im sure most people dosnt care what happens to you either. also if people using the subway makes you angry then im going to say youre home isnt a shelter either. so youre not allowed to live there anymore time to leave!
And still they somehow retune sheltering right back inside the trains again no matter what task forces are placed the homeless just comes right back in the trains and stations, it just doesn’t make do is waste of money or poor strategy ideas.
I really wish people would strike a conversation with homeless people and realize that for many of them, homelessness is their preferred choice over a shelter or psychiatric center.
Drugs, mental illness, yeah they got themselves into it, but mental health is almost always the number 1 reason ( drug addiction is considered mental illness, among the other problems they may have)

On 2 separate occasions, I gave the individual a deli sandwich that cost me around six bucks, only to watch them toss it off the side of the train as they're passing through to the next train car. The people that are on the streets deserve to be there, the functioning homeless are the ones you don't see because they're in shelters, following the rules...
so one dude not accepting your sandwich which you couldve laced with anything makes you think all homeless people do drugs and all shelters somehow help people? maybe we should put you in the mental ward...
