It always amazes me how many chub are caught on that rat, it's incredible! Thanks for that nettle advice, I guess it's the anti histamine reducing the pain?
@@IBandAndyFishing it still hurts a bit, but the Antihistamine makes it bearable..... and you can wade through nettles in shorts and your mates will think you are really hardcore lol. Have you been out for the Chubb on fly yet?

Great question! So, I've got no problem with folks fishing for trout on lures as long as it's done responsibly - barbless hooks etc, but to be honest it doesn't do anything for me personally. They're pretty easy to catch on lure kit, that's why we fish for them with bits of fluff!

@@ssmith5275 all the time we had crank bait on we used wire, for most of the surface fishing we didn't. I think this comes down to knowing the area you're fishing and the likelihood of a take on the surface from a pike using tiny little baits
nowt you did wrong there iv flund they can thrash at the lure and not actually take it properly ! its a mint way to catch chub but can be frustrating 😂😂

Yeah we both felt like I probably just got unlucky, possibly the fish felt the point of a hook and thrashed, rather than actually hitting the lure
