This is late, but i love how my favourite Joker (tied w/ Ledger's Joker) is the least villainous/corrupt one. you can tell this joker isnt one who'd kill Jason
I don't think the one in 1966 would've killed anyone either. He had a sort of dangerous sense of humor (like a gun in a jukebox, threatening to electrocute, etc.) but just short of homicidal I think.
It'd be very interesting to see them do the Red Hood plotline as kid-friendly as possible. I imagine Joker capturing Jason in an unknown location and showing him that Tim Drake has become the replacement Robin, like how it was done in Arkham Knight except without the horrible torture and murder part. It could actually work really well!

Ok, in all honesty, when I first watched this movie, I did not like him. Probably just because I'm used to Ledger and Nicholson's darker more psychotic versions. But after watching this video, I just had to watch the movie again, and man, do I love Lego Joker!!!
I always get depressed knowing we will probably never see a sequel or any future lego films due to the license (or rights) being now owned by a different studio.
I just hope that Universal would bring the same team to make another Lego Movie. Because The Lego Movie worked in the first place because of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, if they're not involved in Universal's Lego Movie, then it's possible that it ain't gonna be good
What I really liked about this is the gentle way it tries to say "Guys, we've hit a brick wall with the super-dark versions of Batman. He's become a self-parody. Batman has had lots of different phases over the years. He can lighten up a bit, even be FUN again, and still be *Batman.* " Sadly, I'm not sure if any other divisions of WB or DC were paying attention. :-/
This movie was honestly incredible. It was outright hilarious, a hugely exciting kids movie, that also portrayed Batman as a character better than a lot of the Live-Action movies have managed to do, all while putting a unique twist on a familiar story in a favorite medium of "LEGO movie".
My 4y/o was a bit apprehensive before seeing the movie, because the Joker was a bit scary in the trailer with the teeth and everything. Then we get the "Batman doesn't do ships" scene, where Batman crushes the Joker's feelings, and she burst into tears in sympathy for J. I think she's now as big a Joker fan as a Batman fan XD Also "Wait, are you telling me Bruce Wayne is Batman.....................'s room-mate?" surely deserved a win!

1:48 Another joke win, Gordon is turning the steering wheel wildly like a child while the car still moves in a straight line. Yep. Also, (7:11) maybe the reason LEGO people talk to inanimate objects is because...well, they’re toys. They ARE inanimate objects. It’s all plastic, bro. We are one with the plastic.
I loved this movie. It was action packed, hilarious, and most importantly- filled with character! No- not 'characters'! I mean 'character'! Each of the main characters actually felt like... people. Both Batman and Joker were two very flawed characters dealing with their own issues in parallel to one another with arcs that lead them to clash with one another. Joker being a villain with vulnerabilities while still remaining the main villain just made him more fun to watch and almost root for. Robin was just so adorable and awesome! I'm so glad they didn't shy away from his goofier aspects and instead embraced them without seeing it as a means to discredit the character. He's a kid, Batman's kid! Any kid would be excited to follow Batman away and Batman himself is attached to the little skamp even when he doesn't wanna admit it. I was so nervous that Robin would be delegated to a minor character in favor of characters easier to adapt into an action film like Babs and Alfred. But they didn't, he remained Batman's primary foil and companion. Batman and Robin are THE Dynamic Duo. I wish movies would stop forgetting that.
You failed to mention the single most hilarious opening in movie history. Everything until he gets back to the Batcave is transcendentally godlike in the ROFL department.
really wish you'd dissected the "batman doesn't live in bruce wayne's basement, bruce lives in batman's attic" joke, as well as the whole "fooling-dick-into-thinking-he-had-two-dads-thing" because those were both Hilarious moments throughout the film while also hinting at Bruce's own inner disassociation from his self as "Bruce Wayne, billionaire entrepeneur". treating his "real self"as more of a cover for batman than his actual identity, only to accept and expose that part of himself to the people he trusts at the end of the film? really, to me at least, felt like a masterful touch in exploring the character themes of Batman in this film. plus, it feels like a really underrated joke because every time Bat's referred to "Bruno" in the third person, I died.
dunno how much more you can say about the basement/attic joke. in a way, it's not really a joke. it's been that way for nearly as long as batman that batman IS bruce wayne, and that bruce wayne is just an act. just like how clark kent is the costume that superman wears, Bruce is batman's costume.
I also absolutely love the dramatic irony of when it seems like the Joker ends up discovering Batman's secret identity as Bruce Wayne, but then turns around to say he's Batman's roommate, or when he says he has discovered a secret Batman has been hiding, which we're led to believe is his secret identity this time around, but turns out to be his love for movies with relationships, which also pokes fun at how much Batman prefers to be alone and shut people out of his life and ultimately creates this weird paradox of "I say and act like I don't love people, but secretly I do.", effectively making him the Batman with a Tsundere archetype. It's all really quite clever. As kid-friendly as this movie is, all the undertones of the film make it very much a film only adults can truly understand.
@@chajosam I get your point of view but I also love the movie because it makes me able to watch it without skipping the boring parts. And that's saying a lot. Even one of my most favourite movies I skip a lot of scenes just to get to the scenes I like
Okay then. Batman is Bruce Wayne, a billionaire who's parents were killed at a young age, leaving him to be raised by Alfred. When Bruce grew up, he traveled to the Middle East, and trained for years, then returning home to Gotham. Back in Gotham, Bruce doned his cape and cowl, bringing fear to the villains, and hope to the city. After being Batman for a while, Bruce witnessed the deaths of The Flying Graysons, a family of Acrobats who wouldn't let a mob boss bully them. The mob boss, Tony Zuko, then sabotaged their trapeze, killing Mary and John Grayson, the parents. The only flying Grayson to survive was their son, Dick. Me. After his parents died, Dick was taken in by Bruce Wayne, who didn't want Dick to turn out like him. Eventually, Dick found out he was Batman, and then became Robin, Batman's sidekick. After years of being the Boy Wonder, Dick eventually left his adopted father, moving to Bludhaven to become the hero Nightwing. Although on his own, Dick and Bruce kept in touch, due to their unbreakable bond as father and son, forged over years of working together. About a year after Dick left, Bruce met Jason Todd, a street kid who had the guts to mess with the Batmobile. Bruce adopted him as well, and soon Jason became the next Robin, Nightwing's brother and successor. Jason would form strong bonds with Bruce, Dick, and Alfred, becoming an important part of their family. But when Jason had been Robin for several years, he was tragically murdered by The Joker. After the death of his son, Bruce was reluctant to take on another partner, blaming himself for Jason's death. But a boy named Tim Drake had other ideas. Tim was smart, a child genius, who's intelligence could be compared to Batman's. Tim wanted to be Robin, to help Bruce protect Gotham. It didn't take Tim long to figure out Batman was Bruce Wayne, but even after Tim approached him with his knowledge, Bruce still refused, not wanting to train Tim, a boy with a happy home and family. But Tim persisted, even going as far to hack into Penguin's bank account and giving away millions of the Supervillain's dollars to the poor. Unfortunately, that act angered Penguin so much, he attacked Tim's family. Batman got there in time, but Penguin still wanted revenge. Tim's parents were put into witness protection, while Tim got his wish. He was taken in by Bruce Wayne, and with him, Tim became the third Robin. A lot more stuff happened in the years that followed, but like his brothers, Tim eventually gave up being Robin to become his own hero, The Red Robin. Sometime after Tim became The Red Robin, Bruce was approached by an old lover of his, Talia Al Ghul. Her father, Ra's Al Ghul, was the leader of the League of Assassins, and an often enemy of Batman. Talia came to Bruce because of the death of her father, and to introduce him to his ten year old son, Damian Wayne. Naturally, Bruce had no idea Damian existed. In order to keep him safe, Talia left Damian with Bruce and left to lead the League of Assassins. Damian was only ten, but he was raised to be a Master Assassin , and to kill his enemies. In order to keep his son from killing, Bruce made him the Fourth Robin, training him to be a hero instead of a killer. Damian is the current Robin, and the Batfamily (the name that has been given to Bruce, and his children and associates) consists of Bruce Wayne, (Batman) Dick Grayson (Nightwing) Jason Todd, who was ressurected and became the vigilante Red Hood, Tim Drake (now Tim Wayne, The Red Robin) Barbara Gordon (Batgirl and Orical) Stephanie Brown (Briefly Robin, Batgirl, and now Spoiler) and Cassandra Cain (Batgirl, and Bruce's daughter) Not to mention Alfred, and several other characters in different universes. It's quite confusing.
While I thought the same thing at first, maybe not really, most of the sins are usually for gross amounts of plot convenience, things being vague for no reason other than us not knowing, logic that makes no sense, things that make no sense for the movies rules, bad camera usage, useless lines and scenes, over used and redundant tropes, and just the things that generally fault the movie, like continuity, or plot furthering character stupidity. I could see sins appreciating this film more just because it accomplishes what it wanted to do, and didn't really leave gaping holes, adheres fully to the worlds rules is executed well, I could even see the sin removal used a lot, you know if he really focuses on the jokes and references cleverly placed. We all know he'd love them not retelling Batman's origin story plus all those villains for the hundredth time. But you know that's just my opinion, not looking for a flame war. Besides if a video for it does come out well we can call me a sucker and mock me for my claims here as I eat my words.
rdsasuke1 I wouldn't say making stuff up still watching some of their more recent videos on my binge watch, but there are some parts of the movie he sins without knowing why it's not one, like with Moana where he sins Maui's song with the snake to coconuts bit which is trying to be true to Hawaiian mythis where a god actually killed a snake buried it's guts and then came coconuts from the grave, or is that one Less something or other that musical movie he sins things that are either explained or that have sound reasoning, I can admit there may be more jokes than before but to say made up would be a stretch. I'd say some sins might be there because he missed the reason and just sins it if he can't figure it out.
Well you are entitled to your own opinion and for sure can see things differently than me.I quit the channel some months ago after noticing they started to make up sins from their own mocking and nothing else but mostly because they would sin something that the movie clearly explains later on essentially lying to their viewers.Maybe they stopped doing that maybe i exaggerated it but from my point of view they make most of their sins up.
rdsasuke1 I can see what you mean as the tone does shift to more mocking than just pointing out the fonts, like you hear it in his voice when it is just mocking, which can lead to more improper sins, especially if he doesn't like the movie, but there still enough actual sins for me to overlook the wrong ones, but you know that's just me, I don't doubt your claim I've only noticed a few here and there since I'm drowning in videos or I'm multi tasking

I'm VERY sorry to say that when my friend and I first saw this, I fell asleep about 15mins in, and woke up just after the four of them reunited before the big fight. I went back and watched it once it was available online and my GOD did I love it. Such a well made film. It was hysterical, clever, and I'm pretty sure literally every iteration of Batman was played homage too, and yes I'm including Team Starkid's "Holy Musical B@man!" in that (that dance number at the end, and the plot point of even including all the lesser villains just feels like it's not a coincidence).
"want him to stay this size forever" man I have a feeling that the narrator will come back to this video 10 years later and cry at that. Congrats with your son!

It could actually work really well!
captures Jason, gases him to make him emotional, Talia swoops in for manipulation, and a new Robin
Basically the comics but skipping the death part.

Exactly why I fell in love with it :3 I have watched 11 times and I only saw it on the last week of July because I love it so much :D

Did i only saw Tony Stark
I've watched this movie a dozen times, and I never saw that. That is Tony Stark.
really wish you'd dissected the "batman doesn't live in bruce wayne's basement, bruce lives in batman's attic" joke, as well as the whole "fooling-dick-into-thinking-he-had-two-dads-thing" because those were both Hilarious moments throughout the film while also hinting at Bruce's own inner disassociation from his self as "Bruce Wayne, billionaire entrepeneur".
treating his "real self"as more of a cover for batman than his actual identity, only to accept and expose that part of himself to the people he trusts at the end of the film? really, to me at least, felt like a masterful touch in exploring the character themes of Batman in this film.
plus, it feels like a really underrated joke because every time Bat's referred to "Bruno" in the third person, I died.
dunno how much more you can say about the basement/attic joke. in a way, it's not really a joke. it's been that way for nearly as long as batman that batman IS bruce wayne, and that bruce wayne is just an act. just like how clark kent is the costume that superman wears, Bruce is batman's costume.

Damian is the current Robin, and the Batfamily (the name that has been given to Bruce, and his children and associates) consists of Bruce Wayne, (Batman) Dick Grayson (Nightwing) Jason Todd, who was ressurected and became the vigilante Red Hood, Tim Drake (now Tim Wayne, The Red Robin) Barbara Gordon (Batgirl and Orical) Stephanie Brown (Briefly Robin, Batgirl, and now Spoiler) and Cassandra Cain (Batgirl, and Bruce's daughter)
Not to mention Alfred, and several other characters in different universes. It's quite confusing.
I love how on cinema sins basically all the wins would be sins
Used to be, now they are making stuff up.
rdsasuke1 I wouldn't say making stuff up still watching some of their more recent videos on my binge watch, but there are some parts of the movie he sins without knowing why it's not one, like with Moana where he sins Maui's song with the snake to coconuts bit which is trying to be true to Hawaiian mythis where a god actually killed a snake buried it's guts and then came coconuts from the grave, or is that one Less something or other that musical movie he sins things that are either explained or
that have sound reasoning, I can admit there may be more jokes than before but to say made up would be a stretch.
