  • This is the fourth video for the January theme (FISH) in my underwater stitchy make along. This is a bit of an extra challenge for any overachievers in the group. Please don't feel like you need to do this if you find it confusing or complicated.

Love seeing how you turn those little scraps into wonderful fish with just simple stitches. My imagination doesn't run to that and I'm so glad I decided just to watch along and enjoy rather than try to stitch!

I found your channel early today and … five hours later! It is mesmerizing to watch you create and process ideas. Also enjoy the artistic perspective of dimension. I am Pisces, love water and identify with the turtle as my totem. Thank you for sharing your artistry.

Wow. I’m so glad you like my videos that much! There just happens to be a turtle coming up in one of next month’s videos. The theme is “shells and stuff”

@@mistikomakes Thank you for the kindness of a reply. I am beginning to look for fabric for my own underwater roll. I will certainly be looking for the turtle video! Blessings to you.

@@mistikomakes can’t believe you remembered my longing for the turtle! I just watched the creation of the turtle. How you take a piece of fabric and create is amazing artistry. TY.

Whales have horizontal tails. This looks vertical.
There's a large sea swimmer called a whale shark. Now I'm not sure if it's a whale or a reality big shark. Google can help

Thanks for that detail. I did not know that. I'm not really trying for any sort of realism. It can be whatever you like it to be.

@@mistikomakes the vertical tails like im JAWS maybe for side to side tail movements when swimming. And I'm guessing maybe the horizontal tails those mammals move their tails up and down? Maybe it helps with going to deeper depths or something
What do mermaids have? I think they're like whales, which would make sense because of the way our knees bend.

@@recoveringsoul755 Oh, that makes total sense. In my head, I can see whales slapping their tails on the water surface. Later on in the year, I did both whales and mermaids (I filmed all this last year). Now I have to go look at what I did with their tails - but also keep reminding myself "I'm not trying to be realistic - are mermaids realistic? I like your logic on how mermaids tails would move
