Thank you for another great video! So clearly explained with every detail. No music is nice, very calming and easy to concentrate. I started your shirtmaking course and I'm enjoying it very much. The quality of the videos, the content and your thorough explanations are fantastic.
The absence of music is a blessing. Quiet, meditative concentration is appropriate in this context. This is a high quality video, both content and execution. Thank you.
This is by far the most detailed and professional tutorial on making handmade buttonholes. It encourages tailoring enthusiasts to practice practice practice using your techniques. I prefer no music. I can't thank you enough. Slava Ukraine!
Thank you for a detailed, clear and well paced video! Without music is definitely best, background music always makes me feel like I'm in a mall or an elevator. If I like the music I sing along and forget to pay attention, if I don't like the music I get annoyed and forget to pay attention...
Thank you, that is great, I always struggled to find music that is not annoying. But after listening the same track over and over, any music will get irritating & annoying. 😆

@@BESPOKEEDUCATOR nevermind, the video answered my question. 👍 Would you mind also making a video on buttonholes for jackets and trousers? The eyes are always turning out a bit bad for me.
I do a lot of hand sewing and have experimented with various ways to make neat button holes - doing everything from using a tiny embroidery hoop to keep the fabric stable, to cutting a guide the width of the button hole out of light weight cardboard. That method at least prevents loose threads from getting in the way. I will have to try your method. Thank you for putting up such a clear and concise video about these things.
Thank you for this excellent video. A neighbour (a retired tailor) is helping me out with some lessons. I hope I can impress him with following your tuition. I prefer without music, it's easier to concentrate and more relaxing to watch. Thanks for your content.
It is such a blessing to have a person with experience willing to share. It is rare and hard to find. The main thins is trying to have fun and not to stress over minor mishaps.
I know, right? Shirtmaking content is usually overlooked, maybe becuase it's not as popular or 'clickable' as jackets. But I don`t care, I love shirtmaking and just trying to fill that void. 😎
By far the best tailoring content on RUclips, also I prefer the minimal/no music, it is very professional in my opinion. God bless you and keep praying 😊
Great video, very helpful! Thanks for including the instructions to iron the thread after waxing. So many people do not know to do this! Many years ago, when I was learning to sew, my mother taught me to make buttonholes for our clothes. I wish I had had your guidance back then! 🙂
This is so good to learn.... music to my ears... . I respect all sewing, it's a beautiful art. Much respect to your video Illia: I would recommend your other educational videos: Poštovanje::
Thank you 🙌🏻 Threads I mostly purcahse locally online, depends on avaliablitiy in stock. You can google 'gutermann r753 silk thread' and see what is available for your region. Shirting fabric I usually get from Czech mill 'Mileta'.
I love your videos and demonstrations! If you were to publish an illustrated book I am sure to buy it! I do like it the way it is, without background music. I find background music distracting in that kind of videos.
That was so useful and informative and very easy to follow. I have made my husband’s shirts for many years but always have machined the buttonholes…. Not now! Could you use this method on a lightweight linen jacket?
I am happy it is helpful! I find handmade buttonholes more longlasting and failproof: table top sewing machines may accidently jam and that could be a disaster. All the basic principles can be applied to the jacket buttonhole: preparation, threads, waxing and overall techinque. But: jacket buttonholes may require longer thread and different bartack finishing. Plus they are usually made with a hole at the end (keyhole shape) to fit the shank and they also need a strengthening core inside (Gimp).
i practice shirt buttonholes with Mara 30 as well. What would you recommend for vest or pant buttonholes? i find that mara 30 and gutterman topstitch are much too thin and I have to make too many stitches.
Thank you for leaving off the background music. If I want music I can provide ny own. Music often makes it difficult to understand the presentation. I appreciate this very complete lesson on buttonholes.

Great video, thank you for all the hard work. (I like it better without any music)
thank you for providing the button to button hole ratio/formula.
I was thinking of editing that part out, but last moment I decided it still might be useful for someone.
Great video, perfect timing since I am just learning how to make buttonholes. I prefer no music, it's very calming.

@@BESPOKEEDUCATOR quick question about the pen. Do you just use a regular pen? I saw that the marks disappeared immediately after ironing.

Thank you, that is a very valid point: most people have some backgroung music (or news, or TV) when they sew.
I just noticed that you are from Ukraine. I am so sorry about what is happening in your country! Your people are in my thoughts daily. Stay strong!
