Nope, bcoz banks will increase the interest of the debts. @@sahibdambam7441 LFC has a smaller loan to the banks, but also paid more than £30 mil back this past year, both included. Yeah, LFC is competently run, and as such have healthy and sound investments, that as a stepping stone back after near insolvency made the club healthy, so healthy that they can keep their best players. But they have made shrewed businesses both in buying and selling. Utd's players assets have mostly been bought above value, and hard to get rid of as they are not very attractive, and on too high wages for failed recruitments. Despite all the money Utd has spent and the much less LFC has spent, the player estimated value exceeds Utds by more than £200 mil. In the past 5 years Utd has spent £828 mil on players, and have sold for £289 mil, a net spent of £539 mil. Meanwhile LFC has spent £587 mil and sold for £445 mil, as such a net spent of £142 mil. And that is just taking the transfers of Jota and Thiago at full transfer, despite they only cost LFC £10 mil in total this summer.
@@sahibdambam7441 I don't disagree with you. This is one of the reasons why their is a lack of a cohesive plan at Utd, making it hard to compete, despite the money invested. As soon as Utd are outside Top 4, they will invest heavily, until they are back in, and then lay back.

Well considering our net spend this summer is -40M, they are indeed not "ignoring the huge economic impact & ongoing uncertainties created by the pandemic".
United are well run financially but badly when it comes to football. Like high wages for 3 world-class goalkeepers in same team and so many unwanted players on high wages is just too bad.
That's the trouble with United. This is ALL they care about now. They don't seem to be as preoccupied with winning silverware or playing in the CL anymore. They've become happy to just bask in the 'afterglow' of the Ferguson era, while doing pretty much nothing about the here and now. Covid hasn't really affected any of the Premier league clubs yet - but it will, and I think United could be among the hardest hit. My guess is that they've lost a heck of alot of fans from South East Asia over the last seven years. Fans who have either 'defected' to City, or Liverpool. And so because of this, the club have become totally 'obsessed' with making a profit and looking at their profit margins. They've completely lost sight of the fact that they are a football club, and football clubs should put their fans first - not profit first. United will get the message eventually, but by then they'll have shed even more fans from around the world - shocked at how the club have 'abandoned' them, but happy to follow other clubs instead. Clubs who play more exciting football. Something United used to be all about. I'm not saying United are on the road to becoming like AC Milan - but the signs are beginning to be visible.
@@Samuelwastaken Oh yeah, they might even win it. they are playing nice positive football as well. I am United fan, but feel they'll be in top 4 along with spurs, pool, n city.
The problem isn't the amount of money we spend, it's HOW we spend it! Need football people making football decisions. A DoF is needed at the very least in addition to an overhaul of the current structure.
Being a Manchester United fan is so depressing!!!!!! Ed Woodward pimped out our club to the Glazer's and now the fans are paying for it ! Can Ed Woodward please leave and Ralph Rangnick should walk in
Point of correction player transfers are capital in nature and are therefore treated as Non current assets (Intangible assets under IAS 38 to be more precise). The amortisation of the fee is just recognistion of loss of value due to the contract run down.
So basically, failing to qualify in the Champions League/ failing to finishing in the top 4 every once in awhile is the only way United will spend decent money in the transfer market under this clause and the current owners. What a sad time to be a passionate United fan.
If there was a owner who wanted Manchester United to be the best team in the world then United would have been the biggest thing football has ever seen by now and would be winning the Premier League and Champions League every now and then
It's not just giving the right players to the manager....they need a committee that selects the right players and someone to negotiate the deals properly. For every transfer, United have their pants pulled down each time. In addition to this, there is something seriously rotten at the club that makes players worse.
My (Sal Musa's) take on Uniteds 2020 summer transfer window . I think it's a very poor / risky transfer window. I would rate it 3/10. It's more quantity than quality and most certainly not attending to our needs of the starting 11 where we need strengthening the most. 1.. Two teenagers, both wingers. May or may not succeed in the future but are definitely not going to improve our starting 11, have little or no experience at the highest level. More of a gamble. Perhaps, like our 1st team we are lacking acadamy players as well in that area. My score 5/10. 2. One of the kids", Amad Traore, having played only 3 top flight games, is very expensive. If we paying 19 rising upto 37 million for him why did we not pay that for a world class proven goalscorer HAALAND who would have costed less!! Lost HAALAND because of Ed Woodward's ego. 4/10. 3. Cavani. Panic buy, over the hill. Again it's a gamble. More of hope than conviction. Has the experience however he scored only 4 goals last season. United are a pacy counter attacking side I don't know how Cavani will deal with the pace of the youth upfront. He could hold up play. He was a free agent all summer. He wanted to go to Athletico / Benfica. Surely was not on our plans else we would not have waited till deadline day. I'm on the line, could go either way like bargain Zlatan or flop Falcao. 4/10. 4. Alex Telles. IMO decent buy, in an area where we needed a player Fortunately in his last year so got him cheap, Ed and Matt did everything to mess it up as well. Should cement his place as our LB in place of injury prone and unreliable Shaw. Glad we got him. 7.5/10. 5. Donny Van Beek . Very good player, the only deal we did without a fuss. I think with Pogba not upto the mark, Beek needs to be given a chance in the starting 11. Most of the Ajax youth who have progressed to their 1st team are always hard working and very talented. DVB seems that type of a player. If we use him well he could serve us for ages. So far Ole has not given him the opportunity. 7.5/10 6. Sancho. Wasted all summer trying to bargain for 15 million pounds. One of the best wingers in world football, at 20 his value will only go up. Currently rated the 3rd most valuable player in the world! He wanted to move to United, a Manchester lad, would have settled in well. I think Ed and Matt incompetency and lack of professionalism was expose yet again. Became more of an ego game and as usual Ed Woodward and Matt Judge made an ass of themselves. Disgraceful. 0/10. 7. Center Backs!! Lack of signings. The area United needed player/s the most. By far our weakest area. Not one, not one of the 7 CBS United have are upto the mark. This should have been the priority. I'm shocked not even an enquiry was made for any CB let alone buy one. Have no idea what Ole and Ed are thinking. I hope Tuanzebe recovers from his long injury and the kid Mengi can somehow take over those positions. Am sure they can't be worse than Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly, Rojo, Mensah or Jones. If I had the opportunity I would show most of them the door and overhaul that position. 0/10. 8. Out going. I can't imagine why we have not offloaded so many unwanted 1st team players. Yes they are on high wages and most team won't touch them. United could have cut costs and torn down the contracts of players like Jones and Rojo at the very least. United sold Smalling who probably is better than most of the CBS we have left at the club and yet he was the one sold without buying anyone else! 1/10. 9. Romero. What a gentleman. He does not deserve United the way we have treated him. A class keeper. Too good to be a 2nd choice keeper let alone a 3rd choice which he is now with the return of Henderson. It's a sin what we are doing. We should have let him go for his own career and playing time. If not sold should have let him go on a loan at the very least. He would be a 1st choice at most of the teams in 1st flight football across Europe. 0/10. 10. Offloading Dalot, Andreas ( loan) as well as couple of youth players was the right thing to do. 5/10. 11. Dembele from Barca. We dodged a bullet. Am glad this did not happen. Over priced, injury prone, too much money on transfer and wages. Barca were looking to cash in on their flop. Who better than Ed Woodward. We ended up not getting him not because of Ed or Matts wisdom but more so because Dembele was not wanting to leave Barca. 9/10.
of course, having astronomical number of social media followers and app users is a more paramount goal for United instead of on field achievement. that's the state of Wallpapers and Lockscreen FC.
@TC 11 "great exposure for the club". Goldbridge made money from making a mockery of the United fanbase and you consider that "great exposure for the club?" 🤣🤣
This sheds a light on the Champions League focus and highlights the major issue with the Glazers: the American thinking. They behave as if advertising is where the money is even though it’s in image and image is based on the football
I hope my fave clubs Aberdeen, Ross County, and Inverness CT survive the present financial problems many clubs are finding. Man Utd will survive I am sure. They have so many fans.
I’m biased on this but I can’t fathom how United fans can stomach what the Glazers and Woodward are doing and not being terrified. Borrowing money like crazy for the glazers to buy the club, borrowing to get through covid, it’s madness. Liverpool got slated for furloughing employees which was shitty but done in an attempt to keep the club debt to the very small portion it’s already at. This feels like it’s going to end poorly
It's only a matter of time before these lot get into financial difficulties. They are a toxic club right now, beats me why any company would want to linked to them let alone give them money with sponsorship. Under the current ownership and management I don't see any future for this once great club but steady decline. They may tread water for a few years with regards to league position but this rudderless ship is steadily sinking.
United call Dortmund: how much will it cost for sancho? Dortmund: £120M with add ons. United: would you take £85M? Dortmund: it’s £120M... United: How about £90M?
So it just like the debt crisis in Britain we get dented up to the point we can’t breath then look we have a way out. Look at the Finchley Road scandal it’s the same just a smaller version
Please make a video on how Arsenal is run financially.. they say Arsenal works on a self sustaining model.. is our true? How did they finance move to New stadium? Etc
This is irrelevant. It only means that the bank CAN instantly recall the loan. However, the bank almost certainly would not do this given that this would not be in their best interests. Worst case is they probably have to make parachute payments or there's an increase in interest.
This explains not allowing players to leave for free hence so many “deadwood” players are signed up for significantly long contracts then cannot be moved on as no other clubs are prepared to match the wages or pay a fee for them
The Glazer's wealth is built on First Allied Corporation whose main holding is shopping malls across the US. As a business philosophy, they're built on debt because pre-pandemic, this helped them grow quickly. I wonder how the pandemic is affecting their ability to service that debt.
That is so interesting to watch 🤔 keep up the good work pal you have give me hope that one day I can get rid of the glaziers covid-19 is a blessing in disguise in my opinion 🤞
One can understand the finance part u dont need to buy a 100mn+ player to win titles bt u shd make quality recruitment and United have failed to do that... Morally they are right in keeping the club intact bt the fans dont care abt all this and we need trophies....
Didn’t Spurs and Liverpool back out on their furlough stance? Plus Spurs taking out the government backed loan is a good thing for the economy and the government, as long as they repay their loan (which I imagine they will)
I feel like most of the people commenting didn't even watch the video. United can't go below 65m profit bcoz banks will increase the interest of the debts. United didn't spend lavishly bcoz they wanted to support the staff without taking Govt aid, while teams like Spurs, Liverpool used govts aid to support staff and used their own finances for signing players.which is highly unethical. Arsenal layed off many staff and now is signing 40million players, clearly they had the money. They didn't care about their staff. I think Glazers are the good guys now, but they don't have any clear idea about running the football aspects of the club. They need to sign a director of football.
Actually both spurs and liverpool did not go through with furlough so they are paying from their own pockets . Spurs again took a 175 million Loan , which they will have to pay back , so there is no loss to taxpayers again ....
Arsenal did take a wage cut earlier, plus their owner paid off all outstanding stadium debt (although they now owe him). London clubs have to pay staff more due to London weighting ,a rule that means employers have to add on salaries for London based employees. Most of the 56 people let go (just laid off the mascot) were those in pandemic hit departments like hospitality, guest relations, corporate and retail. The scouting team was also reduced, including the head scout who recommended Gabriel. Arsenal also had about €90m in transfer funds ready for Gabriel, Partey and Aouar. When Aouar fell through they had the funds freed to buy Partey- aided by the £20m sale of Emi Martinez and some youth sales/loans. The departure of Torriera on loan , likely to be a buy next season and Guendouzi means two guys are off the books. In terms of gate receipts Arsenal was second to United over the last 10 seasons, but unlike United it was a major part of their revenue and COVID affected them more. So United's financial hole is of their own making, perhaps they should stop buying penalties.
As @SantomPh pointed out Arsenal FC executive, management and players (except 3 players) took salary cuts. These were originally at a rate of 12.5% but later slashed to 7.5% because Arsenal qualified for European football. However, the majority of the 55 staff made redundant were not in hospitality/retail, they were the recruitment and scouting staff that had been hired under Wenger's tenure. The vast majority of hospitality/ retail staff are employed by external agencies and not by Arsenal. This is likely the case with most EPL clubs. The club had already planned to reduce the scouting network before COVID 19 hit the UK but Raul & Vinai decided it had to be done now despite the obvious negative press it would create. If you're a newspaper which headline sounds more controversial - "Arsenal sack 55 staff amidst pandemic despite wage cuts" or "Arsenal continue with proposed plans to trim outdated scouting network". I'm not going to defend the owner for not stepping in to prevent the other job losses. He can most definitely afford to put aside his greed for 1 year. However the scouting network was rightfully dismantled. Arsenal still had scouting roles that other clubs (Man Utd included) had sacked years ago. I'm not surprised rival fans like yourself never bothered to research properly and just went along with half-truths you read on social media. I guess it's nice to pretend your club are the good guys instead of dealing with the real facts.

Club finds itself in a position with no clear ambition, a team with average players, a coach with relies on form and players on huge wages. We can neither sell nor buy players, but owners still make money because of the club image. Wait for 5-6 years and we will be like ac or inter milan.
@Elliot Y Man Utd has spent over £900 mill in transfers since Fergie left. The issue isn't spending, the issue is not spending wisely and not having any plan or direction. We have a money guy making footballing decisions.
@Dave Brookes Where as my club paid our staff in full, gave free food to the NHS, had them stay in the 5 star hotel and spent good money. Proud of our Owner.
Love how you used green and gold colors for the Kieran Maguire explaining slide. Subtle.
"Manchester United can do things in the transfer window that only other teams can Dream of" - ED WOODWARD 😢
He wasnt wrong... we signed alexis sanchez for £500,000 per week
@One Indian boy 😂😂😂🤣🤣
nice one!
It’s true but the club is run by incompetent people and some of the decisions made have been shocking where I could not see any other club do that.
I still can't believe United have the HIGHEST wages in the Prem. This for a team that hasn't won a trophy since 2017, came 6th in 2019, and finished 33 points below the champs in 2020?
"This exam represents 0% of your final mark - it's just a visual device in a Tifo video and it can't hurt you"
After the exam I had this morning (luckily it went alright), the reassurance was welcome, lads. Thanks for the great content as always!
Was it a level resits?
Manchester United I just had a test also keep in mind it’s only my 2nd week in school and doing gcse then next is a levels 🙄😓
@@youngaviator9249 no people r doing gcse and a level resits this week and next week. I was supposed to do them.
@@adam6543 Nah, an university exam. Fortunately it went well!
Manchester United can I ask how come you never did them. I’ve got mine in 2 weeks but still not sure if I should ive got to make a final decision by next week 😅
If the people that run man city/ Liverpool had been in charge of United, then this team would have dominated europe. Say what you may of Man city but the way they are run is admirable. United are being run to the groud!!
@@sahibdambam7441 Chelsea owe £1.6 bil to Abramovich. They have been better run the last 5 years or so, but are continuously dependent on sales.
@@sahibdambam7441 Some clubs are still run as football clubs foremostly as well as a business. Other clubs are business first.
i love the way in how TIFO FOOTBALL shows their videos from EVERY ANGLE AND EVERY PERSPECTIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,i am very impressed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tifo should be United's sporting director
Well considering our net spend this summer is -40M, they are indeed not "ignoring the huge economic impact & ongoing uncertainties created by the pandemic".
Everyone watching this show asking one question.
"Why are you borrowing money and letting fans down"
Such quality content, back to back. Tifo has found its way into my heart.
United are well run financially but badly when it comes to football.
Like high wages for 3 world-class goalkeepers in same team and so many unwanted players on high wages is just too bad.
Manchester United is not a football club. It is a cash cow. Football matters are not a concern.
Never thought i'd live to see BOTH manchester clubs are in mid table
While everton & aston villa are in top table
Both clubs played one less game tho and its still too early
Are you kidding? Only 4 matches played and you are concluding that Everton and Villa will stay in top 4 and Manchester clubs are mid table teams?
M P well, Everton have the chance to stay in the top 4
@@RamukJonam2023 you have to admit, this is man city worse start under Guardiola
Being a United fan, I love Tifo..covers more ground than anyone else. Keep it up lads (and ladies if present) :D
Being a Manchester United fan is so depressing!!!!!! Ed Woodward pimped out our club to the Glazer's and now the fans are paying for it ! Can Ed Woodward please leave and Ralph Rangnick should walk in
I don't think I've ever seen anyone write "mustn't"
Makes my blood boil. How do they get away with it?
I thought it was going to be some sort of self destruct button at Old Trafford
Point of correction player transfers are capital in nature and are therefore treated as Non current assets (Intangible assets under IAS 38 to be more precise). The amortisation of the fee is just recognistion of loss of value due to the contract run down.
So basically, failing to qualify in the Champions League/ failing to finishing in the top 4 every once in awhile is the only way United will spend decent money in the transfer market under this clause and the current owners. What a sad time to be a passionate United fan.
I don't know what to make of my club right now. We are shambles.😭😭😭
Great to see that atleast the PR manager is doing his job in our board propperly.
Honestly. Best footie channel on RUclips.
If there was a owner who wanted Manchester United to be the best team in the world then United would have been the biggest thing football has ever seen by now and would be winning the Premier League and Champions League every now and then
Video idea -> could Bruno Fernandes be the answer for RW at MU, I personally think it would work and make room for van de beek in the midfield
1.. Two teenagers,
both wingers.
7.5/10
9/10.
Nice Analysis bro
Great analysis. It's Atletico by the way. Not "Athletico".
@TC 11 on track to 6-1
Well said bro
0/10 for C.D.M position too.
of course, having astronomical number of social media followers and app users is a more paramount goal for United instead of on field achievement. that's the state of Wallpapers and Lockscreen FC.
Mark 'Green Screen' Goldbridge spent the last 3 weeks uploading daily videos saying that Jaden Sancho is going to be at United!!! 😂🤣😂🤣
@TC 11 "great exposure for the club". Goldbridge made money from making a mockery of the United fanbase and you consider that "great exposure for the club?" 🤣🤣
@TC 11 I agree it was good exposure for Goldbridge. It was not good exposure for the club

Man united fans created their own club called FC United of Manchester back in 2005 when the glazers took over as they saw this coming
Considering that the Glazers have taken 800mn out in 10 years. That is akin to probably 3 premier league's and one or toe champion leagues.
This sheds a light on the Champions League focus and highlights the major issue with the Glazers: the American thinking. They behave as if advertising is where the money is even though it’s in image and image is based on the football
TIFO FOOTBALL VIDEOS ARE SO INFORMATIVE! AMAZING!
this video should be watched by any united fans who keep yelling about unrealistic transfer targets.
Tifo providing great videos as usual

Can you please do a video about FC Barçelona's financial crisis and why they are so indebted? Please.
No Sancho No Dembele No Chance of a Top 6 Finish!!! 🙄

The only way for the club to move forward. Is if the Glazers noonger find the club profitable and sell up.

Very well done
This explains a lot.
This is irrelevant. It only means that the bank CAN instantly recall the loan. However, the bank almost certainly would not do this given that this would not be in their best interests. Worst case is they probably have to make parachute payments or there's an increase in interest.
1:08 profit isn’t the same as EBITDA
I hate the abuse of public funds
Pls do a vid on United’s new signings

Mind boggling how people can still support current day ManU.
This explains not allowing players to leave for free hence so many “deadwood” players are signed up for significantly long contracts then cannot be moved on as no other clubs are prepared to match the wages or pay a fee for them
So we need to extend lingard then. Because this is his last year lol
Informative
What about the the owners taking 90m from the club u forgot about that part the only top 15 club to do so. Net spend over 2 season is questionable too
It's soo embarrassing how shitly run we are😭
The Glazer's wealth is built on First Allied Corporation whose main holding is shopping malls across the US.

Plus Spurs taking out the government backed loan is a good thing for the economy and the government, as long as they repay their loan (which I imagine they will)
Manchester United have gone from being the byword for club management to being a club model not to invest in unless cost cutting is needed
Manchester United board- Watch, Take notes and deliver to the fans
Can you please do a video on how United's next best signing would be Ralph Rangnick
I feel like most of the people commenting didn't even watch the video.
United can't go below 65m profit bcoz banks will increase the interest of the debts.
United didn't spend lavishly bcoz they wanted to support the staff without taking Govt aid,
while teams like Spurs, Liverpool used govts aid to support staff and used their own finances for signing players.which is highly unethical.
@@alanreji9001 Yeah but who cares about the truth when people are blinded by fandom
Great🙂 now we know why we didn’t get Sancho🙂
So in the end it's still woodward? lol
