LFG for the win! Started my knife collection in a similar way when I was young. I still have my Victorinox Swiss Camp Champ I received for Christmas when I was 8 years old.
Good to see more of your channel. I bet the two kids make life at home a constant changing world. I have had the grandson's over and at times they can be overwhelming with all the schedules you try to keep. You have two beautiful kids. Keep it real and bring on whatever content you feel comfortable doing. Haven't been disappointed in any of your previous videos. They all are entertaining. God bless man...
Re: They're not perfect but it does so much. That is the design philosophy of Leathermans and modern SAKs. They're not designed to replace your tools but to have a compact all-in-one that does the job well enough which you can carry almost anywhere. Pocket knives in woodcraft are perfect but to distinctions need to be made: Locking and non-locking. The former includes things like Liner Locks and Backlocks whereas the latter are usually slipjoints. Slipjoints are good for smaller tasks but some caution is needed as these do not lock but merely have a spring which keeps the knife in place.
I have way too many knives. Some friends and coworkers don't understand why I always carry a knife but they are constantly needing to borrow them. I started carrying a small flashlight too find myself using it much more than I thought I would. They're not only useful at night time.
If you're on a budget, or not and just need a fantastic, all around knife that you won't be hesitant to use and abuse, the Swedish-made Mora brand is tough to beat. Very reasonably priced and tough as nails.
My grandfather helped me start my knife collection when I was around 8 years old, still collecting them to this day. Hope you and your family have a great year.
LFG have you heard of Dawson knives? They just created an amazing new steel called MagnaCut Stainless Steel that is supposed to be tougher and better than others before it.
You can never have to many knives so I say get all 5 types lol! They will all come in handy at some point. Or if you’re a collector like me they’re cool to have. Excited to watch this one! Keep up the great content man😎
BTW, Grats on breaking 1 MILLION SUBS! (apparently, I've been under a rock and busy). Looking forward to more content. All the best in 2022 to you and the fam.
I've been collecting knives for many years as well. I absolutely love them, and they are such great tools. You know you're a knife nerd when you can name every knife you see in movies or videos, or even just pictures. It's like, hey, nice picture..love that Spyderco Endura you have in it too!, 🤣
I've a few knives, collections have disappeared over the years but my EDC is my Leatherman wave! It's in the belt sheath in my hip 99% of the time. As a handyman I use it often! Love all sorts of edged tools like knives and a nice peanut Buck in my pocket or other small pocket knife if my Leatherman isn't on my hip I've always at least a small folder on me 99.99% of the time so yeah I like it when the knives is made in the USA. But a good knife selection has Merritt for me as well! Great topic LFG
Think this is a great video LFG, just wanted to add my 2 cents and give some names and prices to knives i think are great for every category you listed. Pocket knives • Buck spitfire - $40ish Buck 112 slim - $40ish KaBar dozier - $30ish Swiss Army knife • Victorinox Field Master - $40ish Fillet knife • Rapala Fish’N’Skillet knife - $30ish Opinel folding fillet knife No.8 - $30ish Buck silver creek folding fillet knife - $40ish Camp Knives • Condor Terrasaur - $50ish Mora Garberg (1 of the best knives ever) - $100ish. (I prefer the carbon steel over the stainless) Saw • Silky Gomboy - $55ish If you want something smaller try the Silky Pocketboy - $50ish I’m going to throw in two others that I love but don’t fit in any of the listed categories. Leatherman Wave+ with the bit kit. - $150ish Buck 110 - $60ish There plenty of good knives out there besides these, but here’s a starting point for anyone to refer to.
Awesome video man. I have that Benchmade in black though. The Adamas is an awesome work knife. I'm an Arobist myself and thats the knife I carry everyday. It cut 1 inch rope like it's nothing and benchmade stock grind is sharp.
Nicely done Justin. Great information. Personally I would add a good machete to the list. Spent many years as a land surveyor and it was the best tool a surveyor could ask for.
A couple of my favorite pocket knives are the Benchmade griptilian and the kershaw Emerson cqc 5k. If you guys love a good pocket knife check both of these out! The kershaw is one of my favorite design budget knives, and that griptilian is amazing as well of course.
I have several Kershaw myself I think their affordable and offer many different styles and features, I own several of the speed deploy assisted and love em'. My favorite knife for quartering deer and field dressing is my swing blade it is very affordable at around 60 buck's and has a gut hook and has stayed in sharper than any other knife I own or have ever owned for that matter!
All very essential! I never really thought about using a bigger or longer fold up sawblade like that. I have a little one that basically just helps to cut out the sternum and rids of the harvested animal. But having One similar to that certainly wouldn’t hurt.
When it comes to folding saws everyone only talks about bacho and silkies, but I have a orange Gerber one that cuts twice as fast as my bacho and I had it for years with no problem what so ever! Plus it cheaper.
LFG.... they make a kids Swiss Army Knife, all plastic, not sharp. Perfect for kids to learn knife safety. SMKW sells them for like $10. Really neat, my 3 year old loves his.
Probably need at least 4 backup's for each of the 5, lots of back packs and consoles, well and probably 5-10 more for each pair if pants, and if course most of us have 2 plus belts so that's at least 4 more camp knives. Oh can't forget tackle boxes.. there's 20, and range bags! Oh rifle cases.. yeah we should definitely buy stock in all the knife companies.. lol we own a lot of KNIVES. Thanks for years of great content! Happy new year
Swiss Army is cool, but I got indoctrinated into the Gerber & Leatherman multi-tool "crowd" in the Army. Fixed, partially serrated are my fav type of knife blade. If nothing else, always have a knife handy.
Awesome video. I'd trade the swiss army knife for a leatherman though even if mine doesn't have a toothpick. I have probably five different folding saw blades and give one away every few years. Cheap as heck and works great during deer season.
I love Benchmade I carry the bugout every day and it is a workhorse the S30V is hard enough to not go dull after cutting an apple but then it won't take up your whole afternoon sharpening it when it does go dull. I'm thinking of getting either a sweet Bark River or a Essee I'm trying to decide what one would be better for bushcraft and fun stuff like that. Love all the vids Man thanks.
Crappiefest March 26, 2022. National Ovarian Cancer Coalition benefit tournament at Lake Fork. They plan on having a “Celebrity Division” for the first time. I think you would be perfect! Not sure of the details, but they have a FB page with contact info.
Id rstill reccoment using a deboning knive over a fillet knive.. for 1 its more versatile.. and faster for cutting up fish.. a deboning knive is basically a fillet knive but a bit shorter and stiffer.. I have a zwilling four star deboning knive wich I like a lot.. it was a gift from when I used to work in a fish shop and cut like 300lb of fillets every morning..
I would do a video on types of steels and quality. I’m a stickler for a sharp knife. I have a skif pocket knife and I use victornox knifes in the kitchen.
The amount of knives I have is crazy. One day when I die my kids and grandkids will all have a few, as long as they're still legal... Lol let's not go the way of Britain!
What ever happened with your gamma knife treatment? I’m having a meningioma removed next week and also uncertain on whether the entire thing will be removed.
How do these videos do for you? You've done a few knife videos now. Obviously I'm at a very different scale on YT, but my knife related videos might as well not get uploaded. It's such a misunderstood topic and important, but at least for me it gets zero traction.
Maybe the subscribers get shocked by the change in genre. Bullet Mcqueen stopped uploading 3gun content and made some kayak fishing videos with close to no views last i checked. But it could be knives are not popular except by knife lovers.
LFG for the win! Started my knife collection in a similar way when I was young. I still have my Victorinox Swiss Camp Champ I received for Christmas when I was 8 years old.

You should also do a video about knife sharpeners. My go to is Lansky
I love the Spyderco Endura 4. Awesome knives.
They are great blades, I love how many steels they use
Re: They're not perfect but it does so much.

Still carry the same Beretta knife that I got in high school everyday, keep it sharp and good as new.
A knife is an outdoorsman’s best friend! Never leave home without it!
I have way too many knives. Some friends and coworkers don't understand why I always carry a knife but they are constantly needing to borrow them. I started carrying a small flashlight too find myself using it much more than I thought I would. They're not only useful at night time.

From what I hear it's the knife that all the Scandinavian tradesmen use on a daily basis
Awesome video LFG... I love knives.... I've got alot put up in my attic that I collected when I was younger
Beware of rust issues if you store your knives in the attic!
My grandfather helped me start my knife collection when I was around 8 years old, still collecting them to this day. Hope you and your family have a great year.
That was a great informative video!!! Thank you!!! I have the same red, white, & blue googan hat!!!
LFG have you heard of Dawson knives? They just created an amazing new steel called MagnaCut Stainless Steel that is supposed to be tougher and better than others before it.

Now this is a video I can get around. Buy custom handmade knives from your local knife makers. Preferably certified ones
Love watching your videos!
Love the knife/camp video. Maybe a backpacking trip with OSG or something would be cool to see?
A true Master of the outdoors Mr. Lakefork guy!

Love when you do your bushcrafty stuff!
Great content as always LFG! Love your hunting, love your fishing, but really love your bush crafting and general outdoorsing
Love the content man! I watch every video!
Happy new year LFG I wish nothing but blessings on you and your family
Definitely love a good knife
Nicely done Justin. Great information. Personally I would add a good machete to the list. Spent many years as a land surveyor and it was the best tool a surveyor could ask for.
My favorite knife is an outdoor edge hunting knife
Happy New Year, Justin! Cant wait for the outdoor content this year
Huge fan of ya Justin. Happy New year have you and the family in my thoughts and prayers

Would ya look at that!!! I was just saying I needed a new knife but didn’t know what to buy. But the LFG comes in the clutch

Machete is really handy too
Look In to the boreal21 folding saw.. best saw I've ever used..
Would love to see how you weave that para cord onto the handles.
Only knives people carry over here in England are kitchen knives😂😭😅Always had knives as a kid. Happy New Year to everyone.ThankQ.TkEZ>UK

Over the years I’ve lost 15 or more knives and got leather man instead also with moving lost several knives and no idea where they went
Love the mora knives for the price
You should do a "what to avoid in a knife" video now.
My knives collection always has Swiss army knives with Rapid river, Kershaw, Older Marble knives and Old pal.
Happy new year!
LFG , I tell what I would love to see is the old school LFG merch !!! I need me one of them hats man!
Happy New Year!
Opinels are amazing knives for the price
Should have thrown the tried and true classic Case trapper pocketknife👍
Ive broken the tip off every spyderco I've ever owned (4 so far) but I still swear by their quality
Ehhhh I hate to make this comment, but man I miss seeing you give it a dangle. I miss you’re bass grind, I also miss your Aggie boat 😭

Mystery tacklebox is an professional service.
Ye$sssssss havent even watched the video but I love it
Need some more bass fishing videos. I miss your apology of how you break down a lake. ✌
Analogy. Lol.
Nice, hope you didn't snap the tip off that PM2 lol
What is that filet knife? That thing is nice
Nice video. Since you told them about the types of knives they should own, it's only right if you make a video on how to sharpen them. Lol
Or how not to stick one in your leg…
What ever happened with your gamma knife treatment? I’m having a meningioma removed next week and also uncertain on whether the entire thing will be removed.
Thanks. Now my wife is going to be like why do you have 7 pocket knives ? 4 wasn’t enough?! 🤣🤣
My dad collects them too - Ive been trying to find him something nice for him to display them in.. Do you have any suggestions???
Have a good year lfg
Godbless you as well LFG in 2022
