I must say that the hundreds of comments on social media I have seen from SteelersNation have been nearly unanimous in praise and enthusiasm for the pick. Who doesn’t like it? So I respectfully disagree with the assertion that this may not be a “popular” choice. It is a manifestly extremely popular selection and real Steelers fans have embraced it. No one who is Draft knowledgeable believed he’d still be there at 20, including Omar and Tomlin. An absolute steal.

He was not protecting his blind side so for all intents and purposes, he’s always been a RT playing on the “strong side.” Please don’t try and gin up controversy where none exists. He’s going to play RT and Broderick will go back to his natural position at LT. And no, he won’t be the Center either. 🤪
Its not quite that simple. I think it was dan Moore that said switching sides was like wiping your butt with the other hand. I believe Ramon foster agreed. Doesnt mean he can't do it but it is worth mentioning. Its not stirring controversy to bring it up.

Steelers not moving back in the Draft. They have 4 picks of the 1st 98 selections. Based on the Arthurs Smith Run Heavy Offense they want to employ they will draft Tackle and Center with pick 20 and 51 and use the two third round picks and draft a Physical Blocking WR and CB or DL. Best Available.
Sutton for anything more than a day 3 pick is insane. Injury prone, lost a step, skillset redundant with GP. They need separators

This is a win-win scenario. The Steelers got a player they highly coveted and the player got selected by the team he grew up loving. We can rest assured that Troy is highly motivated to prove that Omar and coach Tomlin were right about him.
If Omar can manage to get one of the two remaining blue chip centers in the second round to put the finishing touch on the OL it will fulfill my wish of making it a priority of filling those two needs early. If Omar gets his WR, CB and DL and ILB would make this an A+ draft for me.
We will be well on our way but in the next year or two I would really like to find at least one super star guard Pitts oline is always at it's best with that Decastro Faneca Dawson type and a stud Center

Stephen, why are you not high on Corley? His tape is impressive and he's a strong runner. I'd trade up and take Frazier, then use pick 84 for Corley and feel very confident.

I believe they can get the center from West Virginia Zach Frazier, and won’t have to trade up where they sit. He’s a true center and nasty in the trenches.

Do you now see how the league views the Center position? The reason why Barton was drafted where he was because of his ability to play multiple positions.
The Steelers have a plan for the Center position. Do not worry! You might see them fall to 51 (Frazier & Powers-Johnson).

I have always been a big proponent of building a championship offense beginning with the OL. IMO, it doesn’t matter if a team has great skill players because if the OL’s pass and run blocking is “below the line” they’re not going to be successful. The same goes for the defense.
This selection was a big disappointment for the fans that wanted Omar to take a WR at #1. IMO, you don’t waste your first round pick on a WR when the draft is ridiculously loaded at that position. To those ill informed, delusional and unrealistic fans I say, Antonio Brown was a sixth round pick.

There’s no way Courtlon Sutton is going for a 2nd. A 3rd at MOST, Sutton is 29 years old and never been a pro bowler or barely a 1k receiver. Lets be logical here
