Thank you SOOOOOO much!!! I just bought the Tinyhawk 2 and this is my first experience with FPV and, as you can imagine, I flip over a LOT in the house. This will be so helpful! Great and simple explanation. Works perfectly!
Thanks! I've seen many 'enable turtle mode' videos but this is the only one where the basic controller that comes with the Tinyhawk rtf was used. Many of the others show a lot of other AUX setups in Betaflight that can't be used on the stock controller. Thanks for this consice and helpful video!
Thanks for the explanation. I always wondered how to activate turtle mode on the TX of the RTF Tinyhawk and never realized I had to activate it in Betaflight first.
Thank you for the question! It does not really make sense to change the antennas on the googles, however if you are looking for a better range on the video I would suggest upgrading the VTX to a 100 or 200MW version. The tiny hawk 2 for example uses a 200MW antenna which increases the range by quite a bit. This will increase the weight and therefore have an impact on agility and flight time, but you will be able to increase the range. Hope this helps! :)
If you take a look at 1:41 in the video I flip the switch on the remote, and the little vertical yellow line under the yellow bar in aux 1 changes position. Try flipping the switch to the position you want turtle mode to be in, and move the turtle mode to that frequency. Hope that helped :)
I tried replacing the beeper with Turtle mode, but I can't get it to work.. The only way I can get it to work is to have ARM and Turtle mode on the same spot.. Which kinda doesn't work right.
Hallo thank you for commenting! I myself had trouble with this, however I had a kind person send me his "CLI dump" which helped me. If you still need help you can email me on: Theaveragepilot@gmail.com and I will gladly forward the file so that you can get flying!
Is it easy to download bete flight on mac ? A get the Windows software too much copy this folder post this folder paste this folder copy this folder so is my easier all I want to do is turn my turtle mode on my tiny hawk as a beginner a don't have to keep going to pick it up a have the aven 4 props and 10 batteries 🤙can't wait but a really need this done in turtle mode can you just change and can you trim on the software?? Thanks if you get back peace from Scotland 👍
Hi! If you are using the google chrome browser you can use the following link to just add as an extension: chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/betaflight-configurator/kdaghagfopacdngbohiknlhcocjccjao This means that there is not going to be any hassle associated with downloading the Betaflight software. After you have downloaded the extension you need to plug your tiny hawk into the computer, after which you will be able to follow my tutorial. I hope it works! :D
Anyone have any idea for someone like me who has never used beta flight in my life until this; and my switch values being so different from his; this has bricked my only FPV quad. Any help is appreciated
So changing the props is NOT necessary, correct? You seemed to say you bought different props, and those did NOT help with turtle mode...so then to verify, are those props needed or not? Thanks.
Thank you for leaving a comment, I did indeed purchase the "turtle mode" props. The point of the four bladed prop (turtle mode prop) is to create more lift, which is very helpful in terms of flipping the quad. I have unfortunately not testet turtle mode with the original 3 bladed prop, but from what I can understand, from other pilots, they will not be sufficient enough to actually flip the quad. It does in theory depend on the material on which it lies, as carpet will allow the quad to flip easier than for example wood. This means that if the surface has a lot of texture the three bladed prop MIGHT (a big might as I have not tested it myself) be sufficient for turtle mode, but in actuality you will get a much better result using the 4 bladed "turtle mode" props.
@@mattdarby8712it's already added 5o the software. What you have to do is flip the arm switch to the off position and flip the turtle mode on and then flip the arm switch then you can try it. Then turn the arm off turn turtle mode off and arm it again. I just learned it a few weeks ago lol.
I just did this step by step and now my tinyhawk doesn’t have any mode at all because the ranges are so vastly different than yours coming from bone stock. If you’ve ever messed with those beforehand; you should mention it before your instructions cause someone to brick their first and probably last FPV drone bud.
Hi. I don't think he messed with the ranges - I assume this because I have two TH2, one RTF, one BNF - and they had different presets when they arrived. The RTF had ARM on AUX1, the BNF had ARM on AUX2. Was a little confusing to me the first minutes ... Just set the stuff where you want it to be and feel most comfortable with remembering the positions ... :)
Am I the only one that couldn't make this work? Doesn't this setting need the props on each side to rotate in the same direction, so they both push the air against the floor? Mine are all opposite.

Only video on youtube explaining how to do it with the RTF Edition. Excellent video.....very well explained and straight to the point. Thanks!

Thanks for the step by step :) Was able to setup Turtle mode on my Tinyhawk 👍
Glad to hear that it helped you! :)
I bought the blades and now I know how to program it to work. 👍🏽
What antennas should you run in the goggles? And does it really make a difference in a cheap pair like that?

Will these cli commands work on a tinyhawk 2 freestyle?
Super helpful thank you!
thanks mate, it helpz a lot :)
my Taranis won't bind with my tiny hawk 2, any idea?
How would I make turtle mode on the top toggle setting? I don’t fly in Acro just angle and horizon.

Excellent thanks good video

I was stupid and tried this with a 2 yea all motors just went at the same time in turtle mode lol
haha, hope the tinyhawk is okay :P
@@theaveragepilot8065 it is, I just reset with the stock file dump. There are no videos on how to get this to work on the tinyhawk 2 sucks
How do you add it on the tinyhawk 2 ?
