I have listened to nearly everyone on RUclips talking about hip issues...many contradicting each other... and Dr David is THE BEST. I couldn't sleep for the pain and struggled with my hip. Now, it's brilliant. I am about 90% of the way to recovery. So grateful to Dr David.

Me too! Found great glute exercises that in-person PT did not give me. Got SUPER bad after 2 months denied prescription pain meds & subsequent inactivity. RUclips trainers BEST! This channel, DocJenFit, Connor Harris, HT Physio, Upright Health… Pain almost completely gone & regaining strength 🎉❤ Never would have believed it!

I use 2 canes sometimes and one has the 4 way rubber base (definitely good for the winter weather. Tightening my glutes has made a big difference in balance. My knee would lock up after sitting, now it doesn’t. I use ice on my front thigh and the groin area. Thank you for your help
Unlike my local Physical Therapy Department that was ok but not good. You have taught balance while they talked surgery. Merry Christmas 🎄

Mini squats are very useful but you have to consciously control your glutes and abs without firing your quads. It is boring but I began 8 months ago and the results were very good.

I have been hypothyroid for 20+ years (taking both Levothyroxine and Liothyronine) and that caused weakening of my muscles (especially the leg an butt muscles) even before I had a hip arthritis that caused serious strength problems in trying to get up if I kneeled or squatted on the floor. I am carrying more weight than I should, but getting rid of it with a messed-up thyroid is nigh on impossible, and I guess that is not helping either. I have tried to exercise the glutes in isolation but am finding that extremely hard too. I would love to tell my surgeon he can keep his hip replacement, but do you have any special advice for someone like me?

I’m interested in your paid program, but before joining, I would like to know if the program assumes that everyone has the same issue-weak glute muscles. I’m asking because I don’t believe this is my main problem. I’ve been strength training regularly for the past two years (five times a week) and have also been active in other ways. I’m 49, born with hip dysplasia (never treated), and currently in the 3rd stage of hip arthritis.
If someone reading who has already joined this program could answer, would be really thankful as well.

Are there any scientific studies that show arthritis improving by addressing muscle imbalance?

The proofs in the pudding. IK it has helped me and others based on their comments. My local PT Department didn’t really mention it but they did mention tightening the glutes while talking surgery more. Continue your research and wish you well. Merry Christmas 🎄

@@dennistyler9852 For me anecdotal or food evidence is not sufficient given human bias and my natural skepticism. That is not to say it doesn't work or make sense--I've personally kept an open mind and followed his advice. I've also seen other MDs on RUclips saying that evidence shows cartilage can regrow naturally. Additionally, I like the guy from Upright Health who similarly focuses on muscle imbalance and strengthening. He often examines and criticizes studies relating to FAI and hip replacement surgeries, and also complains about doctors that make no attempt to address underlying muscle weakness and imbalances before pushing patients toward hip replacement and other surgeries.
