Best way to catch those pinfish is take squid tentacle or nightcrawlers and thread it on a 8# eagle claw on skyway and you'll catch some

North pier ain't bad, I just get hung up A LOT! Lol
I've caught more gags on the south pier, agreed that all were undersized. But I have seen some absolute beast gags caught at the south.
Good video. My wife caught her 1st Gag while she wasn't paying attention!. I use fish bites on my Sabiki. I think they are better then shrimp and cheaper in the long run.
It is cheaper to use fish bites.
I just get 5 dozen shrimp to fish with when the grouper bite is slow.

Funny thing, I have never put bait on my zabiki rigs and always catch enough bait.
I can catch white bait on a bare sabiki but I have a hard time catching other bait without the help of adding pieces of shrimp or fishbites.

I would love to land a thumper like that, my biggest was 25", but I have felt the power of some way bigger.
I know the middle grounds holds some giants! Would be nice if some of those MG gags come inshore lol
@@CoastalTidesOutdoors my biggest was just shy of 40" but that was on a 3 day trip 200 miles out. I've never fished for em on the Skyway. I wanna go when the weather gets cooler and I can go with someone who knows what they're doing to show me the ropes ...

was out today and caught a bottle nose,, ran about 100 yards and took my pin fish.. fun though

I had let a dolphin take my bait once to see how far it would go before letting go.
Big mistake lol
I lost probably 100 yards of line once because it went out to some rocks and wrapped my line around them to create tension so that the bait will come off the hook.

What is your Rod and Reel Combo?
To catch bait I was using a penn battle 2 combo 3000 size reel, the other combo is a shimano Saragosa 5000 with a 8ft star stellar lite rod.
