YES SIR!!! You’re Best video so far. Great job JC, you are LIVING LIFE to its fullest. You’ve shown many people its not always about the catchin. Thanks for taking us along on this adventure. 👍👍👍
I grew up in Tampa. I was a was in kindergarten when the original bridge was hit. I used to fish that pier. Years ago I would catch small black grouper and spanish mackerel. Last time few times I fished there I didn't have a lot of luck. Fun times regardless. Well done!
You da' man, JC! You are fun to watch. You show the reality of fishing and truck camping. Great job. You are absolutely correct sir, it's all about the adventure and making the best of what comes around. Keep on keeping on brother. God bless.
You need to get 1 or 2 RV roof vents and mount to the roof of the cap. I'd mount 2,one opening to the pass side and the other to the drivers. It'll leave the heat out,but if there is a breeze they'll catch some of it if it moving front to back or one will catch it if it's from either side. adding the fan to either window will help also, either use it to push or pull depending on the breeze, but def need 1 vent to let the hot air rise and escape.
When you took your hat off I immediately thought that’s the first time he has taken his hat off. I like these vlog style videos. Especially you teaching the youngsters.
I remember the over night stays at Skyway, it always seemed to be the night before they were biting good. I completely understand! But that is why it is fishing, not catching. The adventure of it and that epic sunrise must have been worth it!
We love those truck camping videos. We Try to do that every weekend from New Jersey to Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. You have to open up side windows and let air in.
One man show u got it going on Bro keep them catch clean and cook's up I like when you clean them and cook em up u right doesn't get better than this live it while you got life
We used to hang a bait lantern, the gas one with the mantles, with a reflective lid just over the top of the water. Makes it even easier to catch bait and it also draws in bigger fish.
Your Crazy J.C., Man you are sure the hardest working youtuber on the planet ,all that gear and cooking and camping and catchin bait ,your livin Life to fullest Brother I love it .Thanks for all you do to make content for US... Tight Lines
Yep, you gotta hydrate a bunch cause you been sweating all day and night. Better eat good too. I think this is a great video idea. I want to take my CaraYakvan and do that now. I love seeing you have fun JC. This was really a fun video... hope you do it again. Life is Fun.
Welcome to Tampa. So, there is a faucet where you can get saltwater for your bucket.. its by the bait shop. Because of the pelican situation, they recently banned sabiki rigs unfortunately. Go for grouper on the outgoing tides over the rock piles, but the dolphins will probably get your bait before it makes its way out there. Water depth runs 6 - 10 feet depending on where you are.
Hey JC the next time you go out make sure you check the regulations. New rules regarding gear and hooks go into effect October 1. From November 15 to March 15 sabikis (among other setups) will not be allowed. Based on this video you may not be able to catch anything next time you go out. 🤣
Awesome interaction with the kids 👏😎 I am also in St.Pete, born and raised. I love the skyway and treasure island I hope to run into you soon ☝️👏‼️💪🏽 Awesome content
you should look into getting the Utilitech 20-in 3-Speed Indoor Black Floor Fan from lowe's. my friend and I call it the 747 fan, for around $50 it was a good purchase kept me cool through out the night.
I really enjoyed the Vid. Especially when I made into your Vid as I was Pulling up. North pier had nothing also. Went To sand Key today like I said I was..Came home with 3 pomps Tight lines JC.
Wish I still had you stamina in the heat, I love this area as much as you... !!! Gonna do some sky way pier fishing when it cools a bit.. Didn't catch much of anything but still a great fishing video. It is about life more sometimes.
You need to put a roof vent or two in Look on rv camper websites. You can get vents with a small fan built in. They crank up and down and you can vent covers so you can leave them open while it rains.
Dang son that was wicked!!!🤣🤣I was wondering when you got up at 530 how long it was gonna take you to realize, I better drink that monster drink near the bathroom, and there you went!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
picking the hottest time of the year JC! If the heat don't kill you , those Walmart groceries will. lol. most people are catching snapper with cut bait after chumming them up.
Great trip! Lawry’s seasoning rocks. Nice to see the whole dinner experience. Great idea! Nice of you to interact kindly with the younger crowd. I wonder how one of those steaks would work for night fishing. Haha….pulling up 5 gallons is impressive! When nature calls… hilarious! You just never know on the skyway…. Good effort.
lol I had the extreme opposite experience on that pier once back in the 90's ..I chaperoned a Police Athletic League overnight fishing trip. It got down to 28 degrees that night and all we had were sleeping bags on that cold cold concrete lol..I'll never forget it. Needless to say we didnt sleep much ha
Ha ha...you only missed a delicious steak dinner. I want to try this camping outing again during the fall when the Spanish are running and possibly some Pompano. Let's go bro!
Always great fishing the skyway but it is tough to get quality fish. Mostly catch bait for the boat trip 39 hr with Hubbard's marina. I have done the same camping thing. Very relaxing and enjoyable
You should get you a small window ac and when sleeping put it in the side window and when traveling move it inside the sleeper! Would open many many overnight options for you.
There’s a video on bluegabe’s channel where a cooler is used to cool air. It has very efficient fans and ducting to blow on you. It works great all night long.
Great video! Had the same experience on Monday evening at skyway only caught bait fish! lol! Next day I went to Sebastian which is so much closer to home and caught 2 snook and 7 mangroves! Not gonna give up on skyway tho!😂
I really enjoy your videos! I come down to that area twice a year from the Hoosier State and stay in Treasure Island. If you ever want a fishing buddy, let me know!
Hi JC! Skunking sucks but that's why they call it fishing and not catching right? You still put out great videos that I learn something from eventhough I'm in California. So don't be too bummed you'll catch them next time!
You can use Google maps on your phone when your out at the pier to find the rock piles too. No need to print anything. My GPS location on my phone is pretty accurate and you can see the piles clearly on the map.
HEY J C, Fun fishing / camping trip. Wished you'd skip the Nature Call segment but since I had to see it ---- Do they keep those restrooms clean? is there running water? Hot water? soap and towels? But most important - WAS THERE PAPER???? And I wonder where the waste goes since they are in the middle of the Bay. Maybe I don't want to know 🙂. See you on the next one.
Bathroom scenario had me laughing out loud. Usually within 45-90 of caffeine it hits me, sometimes there’s a warning and other times its like a speeding freight train….
Try putting a towel and tying it down, and then putting your fishing pole against it, eliminating any necks from the concrete? What are you using for bait on the Sobecki rigs?
A towel is a good idea. Some areas of the bridge people had put duct tape on the concrete. The Sabiki rigs didn't have any bait on them, just the small flies.
JC, holler at me and I can help point you in some right directions. BtW lost 2 HUGE Spanish today. But they're out there! That was after I limited on mangroves.
I know JC can fish based on his videos, but he totally looks like someone who doesn't fish the Skyway often lol. Not degrading him in any way. The Skyway can aggravate even regulars out there. If nothing else he needs to try dropping straight down next to the pilings and letting the current carry it under his feet. Either way spending a night out there is a blast even if you don't catch anything. Best sunrises and sunsets in the Tampa area.
There's a lot of pier to cover to find where the good locations are. Feel free to email me at radreelingfishing gmail if you'd like to share some info...Thanks
i love going to the skyway!! wanting to go again one of these days, last time i went i saw some HUGE tarpon but they didnt want to bite even with squid. and the time i went before that i hooked into some sort of giant grouper, went straight down couldnt stop him. edit: for anyone wondering i was using a heavy 80-130lb rated rod with a offshore angler seafire 9/0 with about 1000 yds or so of 100 lb braid, i set the drag a little too much and broke off because i was using 50lb leader which was too light for that fish, now i have 300lb leader, maybe overkill lol
yo jc, Love the vids. next time u go out to the skyway, try thrwoijg LIVE SHRIMP with an egg weight to the bottom of each light on the north side. So mant gator trout over there and mangrobe snapper. We limited out.
Hey Jc great video was wondering how long does that bait saver last with that small battery thinking about doing this to my cooler but curious on the run time with that
On this adventure I brought a full size 100 amp hour lithium as a back up in case the small 12 amp hr lithium ran out of juice, which it did. I'm guessing here, but I'd say I got about 10 hours out of my 12 volt 12 Amp Hr lithium before I switched it over to the big battery.
Can you tell us more about your aerator?
I was wondering the same thing

OK JC you da man!
Those chuck eye steaks are THE PLAY. Honestly better than a ribeye IMO and cheaper.
You should get some green glow sticks and tie them to some string and drop it over the side into the water. It will attract fish
Enjoy the sabiki out there while you can

That chuck eye is the first cut after the ribeye.. they usually don't make it to the sales floor in my shop! All the meat cutters buy them!! 😂😂
