Motobob actually does a really good job at not being a jerk about a bike's shortcomings. Every bike I don't care which one always has room for improvement. In this video in no way was he complaining about the levels of traction controls. In fact he stated it as an advantage because you can customize it.
Soon, we will be seeing reviews highlighting the apps that the bike comes with, not the handling or engine. It would be nice if the dealer support was reviewed without bias. Most people don't have issues with modern bikes, but with dealer and manufacturer support when shit happens.
If I was in the market for a tallrounder the GX is definitely on the short list! I really like the looks of it plus the tech, performance, and reliability reputation is all there.
I test rode this bike and to be honest i loved it, my GF in the back didn't though so i am not sure about riding 2 up with this one however the bike itself rode beautifully and the engine was a gem, so much mid and top end power on that one.Right now i believe this is Suzuki's best bike in their line-up, it's a good looking one, it has plenty tech and plenty power, what's a curious thing that i wonder is why they did not implement android auto/car play on the dash?
My GF doesn’t complain about the rear seat of my GX, but a couple of years ago she did 3000kms in 12 days in the Pyrenees on a superduke R so I don’t know how much it counts. Android auto certainly would be a welcome addition, the proprietary Suzuki app is garbage.
Had a good look at the GX as i loved riding the GT version but didnt want cramped knees, however I'd prefer a base GX without fancy tech, if i had the choice ? Fully loaded the price is getting close to some pretty special bikes? In the end i declined this and the S1000XR due to quirkyness & secondary vibes & plumped for a proven low mileage V4S Multistrada instead 😊
Not being funny, but 1000cc inline fours still have a serious amount of poke down low. Yeah, they don’t hold a candle to a Super Duke, but they definitely go like shiz off a shovel all things considered. I will never forget jumping onto my 4C8 straight from my wife’s Monster and feeling a wall of torque on that litre lump - pulled way harder than the Ducati V-twin from the off.
When I had the GT A mode and TC on 1 was the way to go, everything else felt super neutered. But I also had it flashed and unrestricted by 2 wheel dynoworks, swapped to a 190/55 rear tire which made it so much better. The only reason I got rid of it was because it felt like a more cramped naked and the engine was too smooth that it lacked character and the fairing removal process was tedious. This bike is probably what I should've got if only it came out at the same time! I think I need to accept that maybe I need an ADV style sports tourer even though i'm not the biggest fan of them but they perform well and are fairly comfortable still and no extreme wind blast like nakeds.
@@ehiggins7476 Yeah the motor is great, it's just too smooth that it made the bike lack character. I came from a XSR700 to a XSR900 and then to the GT to give you an idea, which were both torquey bikes and wheelie easily so I guess I never knew how lacking an inline 4s bottom end power was but it was definitely fun ripping into higher speeds/rpms.

I was supposed to ride one of these on a tour in June to Sardinia/Corsica/Italy, but sadly someone on the previous tour crashed it and it was unavailable. Thanks for the review. So much so that on the first proper turn I had ca bit of a brown pants moment. Very strange. I got used to them fairly quick but still. The dealer immediately said they have a line up of replacements pads ready to fix this. Other than that, amazing machine, that engine is a peach and it sounds heart throbbingly good. QS is buttery smooth, can also upshift on throttle down which is really nice. Suspension is a gem, on medium it was stable as silk on bumpy roads, I don't know if it's because of that fancy SRAS thingy but it just works really good. Better than on a tracer 9 GT, even better than on a KTM 1290 adventure S. There's a reason why Suzuki usually comes later to the market with a feature, they perfect the crap out of it. The windshield was disappointing, I'm 176 cms (5'9") and my head was getting buffeted like hell in the high position (I think). Gonna stick to my strom for now, more confortable for my needs.

thanks for the review! to clarify things, I'm getting it next week (in blue like this one), as a replacement for my 2023 VSTROM 1050 SE, why? because I do 15,000 kms a year, and the roundness of the Vtwin is fun, even pleasant, but tiresome in the long run. Thanks for pointing out that the 1000XR is better, but is it €5000 better? I'm not convinced.
@ehiggins7476 I don't think that the 1000XR is better, all the testers tend to say that the BMW is "slightly" better, better finished, better protection, adjustable windscreen, etc. But these same testers forget to specify that to have roughly the same specifications as the Suzuki, you need a lot of options, and the price goes up to 23000 without suitcases. . In fact, I just wanted to point out that, unlike the others, Motobob emphasizes the fact that the 1000XR is a little better, but a lot more expensive.
@valebliz sure, that said, with the 1050 Vstrom I make usually 6.2l/100km. That's roughly what the testers here and there report about the GX. Will see next week (GX arrives on Friday 😊)

I think the Moto Guzzi V100 would be my choice, maybe a little over the Yamaha but if you are going over the 10K mark, then go for the style and that Moto Guzzi is very appealing to me. I know the BMW is very high quality but I don't like that you have a lot of extras and your final price may be way over if you want all the goodies.
Sooo, yamaha tracer 900, kawasaki versys 1000, bmw 900 and 1000xr, honda nt1100,triumph tiger 1200 gt, and if you already are comparing a suzuki gt to it then there are 10 more sport tourers to compare. In Germany versys is around 12.8k and this suzuki starts at almost 17.4k. It anything but good value for money.
Went to have a look and a test ride a few weeks back here in Australia. Did the normal walk around and visual opinion and after doing this I didn't even both do the test ride, very industrial finish and it just didn't look as good as I thought it looked on the net . Shame because on paper it has great value but for me it's just not a well finished off product.
The Tracer 9 GT’s probably the most sophisticated bike (at the price point) I’ve ever ridden. Oddly, its character didn’t appeal to me but, I can certainly see why it receives the accolades.
1) Your videos are pure class! I mean just the ‘Supported By’ slide for example, is clean as! 2) Thanks for calling it Suzuki, not Zuzuki! 3) Why do all Suzukis have the same exhaust design? That’s a lazy way of designing, IMO.
The lackluster bottom end on ANY i-4 engines with a flat crank can be greatly reduced by the use of VVT . . . BUT . . . we all know that will never happen on what's a entry level crossover (yes, $18,5OO it's considered entry level nowadays 😭). Most OEM have the solution to this problem probably sitting on a parts department shelf of their car division but the bean counters are putting a hard stop to that.
love your content. as usual, informative and entertaining. One request here, do you think it is feasible to compare calimoto with what beeline is offering?. I thinik it can be good comparison for a lot of riders wanting to choose between these two options. 🙃
Nice video🤘I really like this bike, it has n funky look in my opinion and just to feed my curiosity would like to test ride one when available just to compare the riding to my 1050 Tiger.
F900XR is just a bad bike so nobody mentions it :) And T9GT+ is overpriced, you pay 150hp engine price for having 900 with ACC. On the other end T9GT is well priced fun bike (but with typical yamaha's cheap shortcuts in case of build quality).
If it had the gsxr vvt engine…. I hope Suzuki finally brings some new engine stuff soon… these recycled power plants are reliable.. but due for a power update.
Wouldn't say nailed it but it's a decent offering. Despite some niggles like the agricultural screen, it's much better than reviews suggest, but it does need some new better tyres instead of the very average OE ones.
@@ehiggins7476 WTF indeed. Do you not think having an "adjustable" screen that takes a socket wrench & 10 minutes of your time to change is a bit primitive? Suzuki's own V-Strom has a decent ratchet mechanism adjustable screen so no excuses. Seems like an obvious oversight to me.
@@ehiggins7476 Just semantics I guess. I don't think it's an unreasonable adjective to emphasis the point. It is comparatively agricultural imo when the competition has adjustable screens or even electric screens.
The problem with the tracer lies more in the horrible suspension, front end feel and finishing. It really really feels cheap, the cp3 engine is the best thing about it imo.
@@FrauFitzer yes I didn’t like the tracer GT suspension, especially the front and the lack of front end feel. And believe me I really wanted to like the tracer, the engine is very good and has excellent fuel consumption for the power it puts out. Didn’t like the ergos too but that’s very personal. In the end I went for the GX, quite bad fuel consumption, more expensive but I love the gearbox, the engine mid range and the suspension is very good once dialed in imo. I owned a speed triple R with full ohlins and a superduke R before, so I believe to have a good reference regarding suspensions and chassis on upright bikes.
The first thing I do when buying a car or a bike with Dunlops is to replace them with Michelins. Dunlop should be embarrassed at how bad their OEM tyres are - utter shite.
Sorry but you don't know what your talking about that K5 motor is a beast with bags of low mid- range grunt, heaps more character than a cookie cutter parallel twin, that motor would eat an MT09 for breakfast.
As I had a bike for some 5000k km in my possession I must agree that is unfinished product. Comfort once me lift the windshield add laminar lip is ok. Problem definitely ware tires and to be honest why should I buy new tires because oem are crap? Settings are fine but what really turned me off is fact that I had no visibility in the mirrors above 4.5 k rpm , passenger seat to small and worst of them all was instability on high speed. Wobble was so pronounced above 200 k km that I decided that is dangerous. Brakes are medium. Expected much better. One other thing is the light. Worst ever. I did not like to ride at night. Could not see much in curvy roads especially going down hill. Forgot to mention that bike is very thirsty no meter how you ride. Finally I got rid of it. Total disappointment. 😢
@MOTOBOB Rob, there are rumours going around about a new Honda 1000cc touring bike coming before the end of 2024. Have you heard anything about this? Can you substantiate in any way? Thanks.
This bike kinda gets lost. The Tracer is the value king and the European options deliver the premium goods. This bike - especially with no factory trunk option - can't run from compromise.
Maybe a GT with electronic suspension, with GX's headlight with more powerful engine. I wish that the upcoming Ninja 1100SX has added power than they just put the Versys 1100 engine into it.
@@alphajed7700 It's my guess the 1100 engine is going to be a revised 1043cc from the previous models, to make up for the continued HP losses year after year due to emissions.
@@alphajed7700 1043 in the Versys has been tuned very differently than the 1043 in the Ninja. I wouldn't expect any difference between the 1099 for either. The 56cc difference I'll imagine is a market strategy to keep the bike "fresh" in spite Euro5+. Yamaha also bumped the MT-09 from 847cc to 890cc for similar reasons, and in a lot of cases, you compare the 2014 MT-09 to the 2024 MT-09 and the old bike weighed less, make slightly more peak power, but less midrange torque.
Again - the concept of GREED does not allow them to release a bike, which the owners can use, without looking for essential "upgrades" : They will NOT install a GOOD seat, from the get-go ! Same with the tire inflating valves - WHY not bent ?? - so users wouldn't have to scratch fingers on the brake discs.... Then - it's a TOURER, so NO center stand ?? - NO ! After that, the management will run some idiotic meetings - to "investigate" WHY they don't sell, ass much ass they'd like to ! 🤣🤣
I love how shallow most of these yt reviews are, these guys take a look at the brand name and basically build reviews around it. Nice 2” wide chicken strips btw, at least in this footage.
@@GCTO239 I mean he suggest the tracer 9 as an alternative, a bike with a horrible front end feel, 30hp less, absolutely inferior suspension but successful because the cp3 platform became a hyped platform. Oh to rip out the K5 based engine…and slot it in an up to date GSXR 1000 K5 based proper sports bike? Arguably the last good looking motorbike to come out of Japan? And I used to tour on mine…
@@valebliz True, but he just said that the bike is too expensive in Spain. So an even more expensive is already out of the question. The GX is about 1200 EUR more expensive in Spain than in Belgium while salaries are probably half. They are trying to sweeten the deal by offering 8 years of warranty and assistance. I wonder how much more expensive the XR is in Spain.

Personally, am on an SV650 as my first bike and love it. One major advantage that isn't often mentioned is the low-RPM assist which make low speed manoeuvering much easier for a beginner (also makes it nigh impossible to stall -- though you still will to start with). Though, if you're on the taller side I'd try the v-strom 650 as well, as it has the same engine but might be a bit more comfy.
It's how channels are monetized, because making videos all day isn't profitable without pay, compared to working an 8 hour job. If ads are annoying, there's blockers for that.

I suggest you look at the v strom 1050 road version. much more comfortable for both rider and passenger.
Very different bike from your super tenere. I suggest the vstrom too.
@@valeblizor Versys 1000
I think the Moto Guzzi V100 would be my choice, maybe a little over the Yamaha but if you are going over the 10K mark, then go for the style and that Moto Guzzi is very appealing to me. I know the BMW is very high quality but I don't like that you have a lot of extras and your final price may be way over if you want all the goodies.
i'd love one, but i can't justify the cost in light of a used GS or even a few year old Multistrada
Love this bike. Can't find the discount codes for Calimoto
Awesome bike. Suzukis are tanks, great bikes but you MUST change tires and they shine even brighter.
I’m going to buy both this and the GT.
The new GT is currently 7k cheaper than the GX in my country... I didnt need special IMUs etc, so went with the GT.
I like it. It's more like the universal Japanese motorcycle I grew up with.
Tracer 9 GT + for me.
Most OEM have the solution to this problem probably sitting on a parts department shelf of their car division but the bean counters are putting a hard stop to that.
twist wrist
That would be sick if they did a600 next , lighter more nimble that would be a fun bike.
love your content. as usual, informative and entertaining.
You do know BMW has the F900XR... which you seem to never mention in this class of bike.
900XR is not in the same class as this, this is in the same class with S1000XR.
@@fs5866 Then he shouldn't even bring up the Tracer 9. That bike is in the same class as the 900XR.
@@beaulunawolf1198well yk it’s a Yamaha, Yamahas have that much aura
F900XR is just a bad bike so nobody mentions it :) And T9GT+ is overpriced, you pay 150hp engine price for having 900 with ACC. On the other end T9GT is well priced fun bike (but with typical yamaha's cheap shortcuts in case of build quality).
@myousic4564 900XR is definitely not a bad bike... just might not be what you prefer.
How does it compare to the Versys 1000?
Ducati Multistrada V2S is a direct competitor
Tracer 10, come on Yamaha
Id be all over that.
Not with the cp4, horrid fuel consumption unfortunately.
Yes they nailed it
If it had the gsxr vvt engine…. I hope Suzuki finally brings some new engine stuff soon… these recycled power plants are reliable.. but due for a power update.
I still prefer the look of the GT. Still, Suzuki defo doing better and are interesting. Bikes are on my radar these days.
Wouldn't say nailed it but it's a decent offering. Despite some niggles like the agricultural screen, it's much better than reviews suggest, but it does need some new better tyres instead of the very average OE ones.
Agricultural screen? WTF
The WTF is directed at the adjective used to describe the screen. Not at the fact that the screen is a pita to adjust.
@@ehiggins7476 Just semantics I guess. I don't think it's an unreasonable adjective to emphasis the point. It is comparatively agricultural imo when the competition has adjustable screens or even electric screens.
The cfmoto line up is really good
Looks to me like the design team were smoking a mixture of skunk and bat shit!
I just want them to update the standard GSX-S1000 to be at least somewhat competitive in the 1000cc class... is that too much to ask?
soory 30 horses less puts the tracer in a lower league and makes it more expensive
The problem with the tracer lies more in the horrible suspension, front end feel and finishing. It really really feels cheap, the cp3 engine is the best thing about it imo.
150 is plenty
@@valebliz are you talking about it’s electronic suspension? Is it too stiff or what’s the problem?
@@valebliz got, so was it not enough firm for you at the front?
12:09 you mean for over 1k more? 😅
If some people find the settings confusing, they must not ride a motorcycle; they can drive a Tesla instead.
Dude always make content around new bikes, ie basically pr for the companies.
He reviews bikes - that's what he does.
It's a great bike, no way around that. That said, I feel like the price is just too high and I'd rather go with a Tracer 9GT at that point
I believe upgraded versions of this bike will be better ✌️
When is the Triumph Rocket 3 Storm video coming?
Thanks.
Not to my knowledge so far. There are lots of updates coming from Honda but afaik that's not one of them. Unless they're keeping it under tight wraps!
@@motobob 🙏
If it's as good as the GT, they nailed it.
I own the GX and tried the GT, the GX suspension is much better tbh.
@@valebliz It should be!
As a suzy rider, no they didn't. That's why I got a multistrada.
1:14… You can choose between curvy or twisty? 🤭🤣
I find the design horrendous but that’s my taste!
Great review, Suzuki made big step on tech side, but their bike naming is just mess 😂😂😂
This bike kinda gets lost. The Tracer is the value king and the European options deliver the premium goods. This bike - especially with no factory trunk option - can't run from compromise.
Wonder what Suzuki's response will be to Kawasaki's coming 1100 Ninja SX?
Maybe a GT with electronic suspension, with GX's headlight with more powerful engine. I wish that the upcoming Ninja 1100SX has added power than they just put the Versys 1100 engine into it.
@@alphajed7700 It's my guess the 1100 engine is going to be a revised 1043cc from the previous models, to make up for the continued HP losses year after year due to emissions.
The new Kawi 1100cc will have 3nm more torque and less HP. I do not get it.
@@2631Fred because the engine platform is from the upcoming Versys 1100
@@alphajed7700 1043 in the Versys has been tuned very differently than the 1043 in the Ninja. I wouldn't expect any difference between the 1099 for either.
The 56cc difference I'll imagine is a market strategy to keep the bike "fresh" in spite Euro5+. Yamaha also bumped the MT-09 from 847cc to 890cc for similar reasons, and in a lot of cases, you compare the 2014 MT-09 to the 2024 MT-09 and the old bike weighed less, make slightly more peak power, but less midrange torque.
Looks better than the XR or Tracer.
Suzuki vs BMW S1000XR - who wins?
Again - the concept of GREED does not allow them to release a bike, which the owners can use, without looking for essential "upgrades" : They will NOT install a GOOD seat, from the get-go ! Same with the tire inflating valves - WHY not bent ?? - so users wouldn't have to scratch fingers on the brake discs.... Then - it's a TOURER, so NO center stand ?? - NO !
After that, the management will run some idiotic meetings - to "investigate" WHY they don't sell, ass much ass they'd like to ! 🤣🤣
Did they nail it?
I love how shallow most of these yt reviews are, these guys take a look at the brand name and basically build reviews around it. Nice 2” wide chicken strips btw, at least in this footage.
Agreed
@@GCTO239 I mean he suggest the tracer 9 as an alternative, a bike with a horrible front end feel, 30hp less, absolutely inferior suspension but successful because the cp3 platform became a hyped platform.

Love the bike but with the current price, at least on Spain is not worth it
Are there any import duties if you bring a bike from another EU country?
The s1000xr is more expensive so I don’t get what your point is.
@@valebliz I don't get it. Who said anything about the s1000xr?
@@johnnyblue4799 it’s the GX direct competitor, certainly not the half assed Tracer 9 that sells on electronics and cp3 hype.
Bring back no electronic rider aids! Man up motorcyclists!
I’ve never understood why motorcycle tires are basically bald. But if your car tires don’t have any tread, then you say they’re worn out,and you get new ones. What gives?!
Tread (sipes) only work in the wet. Slick tires grip best in the dry.
