  • Alas not on a bike… a drive from east to west up and then down one of Britain’s steepest roads.

Well done Andrew, another great video. I thought you were practising with your drone ! Most HN pass videos go up it the opposite direction, but the descent in the way you did it is way scarier. A true bucket list ride, or, more likely, push. Cheers.

Thanks Reid. Yes, it's a fun video. Please bear in mind I was driving, not on the bike and the film is played at double speed :-)

Thank you Mr Price. The orchestra cost me a fortune (and it was a squeeze in the back of my Mini…)

@@sydguppy7024 The music is one of the pieces of stock music that Apple offer users of iMovie to create a soundtrack of films made using the software. If you are an Apple user, you'll find it somewhere in the list of available music. Sorry, I don't know its name. Hope this helps.

Amazing! Loved it. A little baffled at how you stablised the video. How did you do it?

Thanks. I was driving, not cycling. The iPhone has good stabilising software :-)

Tried to go up it in 2010 when I was touring that way on the British cycle quest.... In my prime, I'd done a month or so of touring in Scotland and had psyched myself up to do it along with Wrynoss only for it to be shut because there was a gunman on the loose killing people (if you believe the official story and it wasn't United Utilities that killed the Lawyer who was prosecuting them at the start of the spree)
Went back to try again last year and 16 stone heavier.... Brutal terrifying descent.
No real joy going up either.

It looks as if a little resurfacing wouldn’t go amiss. Still, spectacular nonetheless.

Yes. I hit one particular pot hole rather badly but the tyre on the car seemed to survive. I'm not sure they encourage people to go up there in vehicles so I suspect maintenance is kept to a minimum.
