Well done fantastic effort, just wish the ones walking would be more aware of the ones still riding 😊

Brutal climb. Chuckled seeing the guy in his socks @14:10 with his shoes resting on his hoods.

Folks walking at the bottom of the climb; totally unfit to do the Fred, inappropriate gearing or a combination of both?

More people could do it if it wasn't 150km into the ride. Headwind also didn't help this year. But, yeh if you start walking from the bottom, maybe you should have done a bit more training... 😅

@@arunasadomaitis4524 so lower gears needed 👍

Maybe a 4th option of not got their fuelling right and out of gas, it’s a very tough ride and not an easy one to train for. I did it last year and walked the last qtr mile at the top on the steepest section hairpins. That was even having a 36/34. Lot of riders walking from the bottom then too. It’s 25% at the bottom so pretty tough and got to push out a lot of power just to keep going

@@simonworsley8631 36/34 still isn’t particularly low for such a long steep hill and as you say, at the end of a tough day. Folk need a bailout gear IME.
